Excellent location. Seems owners are working to make improvements.

We were up in Ashville for a family wedding and had 5 families staying at the Davidson Farmhouse. The house was more than accommodating for all of us. The only slight negative was that the house was having the siding replaced. Not a big deal except for a bit of parking taken away. On the positive side, the kitchen has everything you need and I believe there are more coffee makers there than in most restaurants. The dining room is fantastic for large groups. Saw no bears, but did see 2 albino squirrels. Great time...Thanks Mike!

The farm is located perfectly to the surrounding areas of Asheville and Black Mountain providing plenty of entertainment. We loved the open space in the house with plenty of seating where everyone could gather together. Also, the fire pit was a wonderful addition.

We had 11 of us on this bachelorette trip and the space was more than perfect. And the drive to downtown and to our Saturday morning hike wasn’t bad at all. 15 mins to anything we needed. Would stay here again and plan to!

It was a great week. The house is very room with space for 12 most days and we were very comfortable. Very close to cool hiking spot, Asheville and Black Mountain.

Good stay overall.
Sprawling property great for a big, loud family group with plenty of space options.
Historic home, well outfitted for large meals and family scrabble/card games and midnight conversations is comfortable with a number of small upkeep tasks remaining after a well thought out renovation.
Property owner and staff are on call if needed. Bears ransack trashcans along the road nightly. Pizza, grocery stores nearby.
All in all suited our vaca needs. Enjoy!

We had a fantastic stay even though it rained most of the trip…we made the best of it though. Great location and easy to get around for hikes, shopping, and other things. Very charming farmhouse.

Very spacious and comfortable! The house had multiple large spaces to gather in both inside and out. We had a nice time gathering around the large table and in the living room with plenty of seating. Lots of kitchen spaces & really great extra fridge storage capacity! The notebook had helpful information as well.
Unfortunately, neither of the property managers ever returned our voicemails regarding there being no iron (something we really needed the day of my daughter's wedding). If they had I would have been able to discuss the rodent problem and the fact that fruits and other foods in the kitchen got chewed and/or dragged off (I only saw the back foot & tail of one as it escaped through a hole underneath the cabinet toe kick).
Many window screens were really dirty/cobwebby and one shower curtain had considerable mold. Two windows in the upstairs bedrooms were left open from the top (blinds were down so we didn't notice at first) so the upstairs was uncomfortably cold the night we got there as it was in the 30's. The downstairs bathroom had an odd smell. Also, the doorframe of the laundry closet upstairs is not attached and made the door unstable. Outside of the rodent issue I would recommend this as a nice gathering space.

We had a great time visiting the area. Farmhouse was clean, comfortable, and cozy. We appreciated extra details that made stay comfortable: extra towels, blankets, flashlights. Farmhouse was quirky-cute!

We had a great stay at this large, renovated farmhouse. It was perfect for our group of women. We especially loved the huge dining table and the kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfortable and plenty of towels were provided. The location is perfect for visiting Asheville, Black Mountain and The Biltmore. I would definitely rent this home again.

Really enjoyed the fire pit. All rooms were just right.

We really enjoyed the big lawn for the grandkids to play on and we enjoyed watching them. The neighbors were friendly, and stopped by to let us know when bears were seen in the neighborhood, so we rounded up the kids and the dog and went inside. We didn't see the bears, and once I mastered the "bear-proof" trash can lids, they didn't get in the trash anymore. I mention the friendly neighbors because last year we rented in the city of Asheville and we sensed a certain resentment from neighbors there. All of the adults cook, so we appreciated the large kitchen and kitchen annex. Remember, it's an old farmhouse that's been modernized, so you expect some things like uneven floors, etc.; it's part of the charm. Speaking of modernized, the air conditioning was great! Really needed it.

The Davidson Farmhouse was the site of a reunion for our large group of old friends on a vacation/reunion together for the first time, and it served us well! We came to Asheville with lots of different interests, some of us more interested in hiking, others more interested in the breweries or art scene. The Farmhouse was the perfect home base, comfortably housing all nine of us (including toddlers) and providing a great setting for us to get together, socialize, and relax before and after our daily adventures. Great indoor and outdoor spaces alike kept everybody happy!

Great Weekend!
My husband and I planned a ‘Thanksgiving Weekend’ with our 4 adult children and their significant others. Plenty of space to all gather together yet each had their own spacious rooms. Close enough to Asheville (Toured the Biltmore Estate) and close to hiking. Spacious kitchen to make a full thanksgiving meal and certainly plenty of room to eat together!! We all had a wonderful time! The kids all gave high marks to the house. Rustic charm, yet very functional as well! Thanks for the great weekend!!

Nice Stay
Old farmhouse that has been renovated. There's been a lot of work done, but there's still more that needs to be taken care of. Was very clean and tidy and very unique. Had a heating issue, but owner got it resolved pretty quickly. Lots of great space for larger groups--great gathering spaces and plenty of sleeping spaces and bathrooms. I would say better in warmer months. It was chilly and windy when we were there and, even when heat was working properly, it was drafty and cool. We often sat with our coats on (and we're from Wisconsin and Minnesota). Nice location to have rural feel while not being far from Biltmore or Asheville proper.

Perfect Home For Family of the Bride
Your house was a perfect fit for our family. We came in from out of town for a wedding at Hidden River Events. The Farmhouse was only 7 mins from the venue. The rooms fit our family great. Plenty of space and bathrooms for everyone to get ready. The home is fully stocked and very clean. Would defiantly recommend Mike and The Farmhouse to others.

This house accommodated my family in regards to bedrooms and baths. However the house needed some love and finishing touches ( unpainted wood work ,doors on shed to hide a mess, cleaning in the corners and curtains barely hanging on and moldy shower curtains.
Location was great. The management didn’t inform us the dryer didn’t work( on order) as we would not have washed a load of clothes
Overall much thought was put into ample supplies of garbage bags toilet paper paper towels and kitchen cookery.
Again just needed some love. It was tired

We were four couples who were in school together 45 years ago and decided to have a mini-reunion in the NC mountains and enjoy the fall foliage. The house was spacious and well-equipped, and we instantly felt at home. It was a short drive to see the Biltmore House or enjoy dinner in downtown Asheville, and very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway to catch some color. Plenty of comfortable seating in the living room and a huge dining table for meals. Even a fire pit out back. Owner responded quickly to any questions. Delightful old farmhouse updated for modern needs. Would definitely go back!

Annual sibling reunion
Seven adult family members gathered for a four night stay at this property. It's a old farmhouse, built in 1844, and nicely renovated. There is plenty of room for getting together for games, meals, talk and a campfire, while allowing a lot of space for some private time. Lovely trees, front porch, side porch with picnic tables, fire pit with chairs were nice for enjoying the outdoors. It rained one day so we stayed inside, played games, and watched football on the TV. Plenty of beds, bathrooms, and seating in dining room and family room.

Great Place For A Group
Our group of 11 stayed here for 3 nights and loved everything about the stay! Plenty of room for everyone inside and out. Close to Asheville, which we spent the majority of our time if we were not hanging out at the house! We definitely recommend!

There were 13 of us on this trip ranging in age from 13 to 80. This home accommodated us all beautifully! My only regret is that we didn’t have more time to spend at the house. Days were spent zip lining, white water rafting, exploring the Biltmore, shopping at the River Arts District-all were only 15 minutes from the farm. After returning from the day’s adventures, we had cocktails on the front porch or the back patio—so many great outdoor spaces! Later in the evenings we gathered around the fabulous dining table for meals followed by games or a spa night. One evening was cool enough to light up the pit for s’mores and songs around the fire. The bullfrogs joined in the singing. We had the most wonderful time! Tons of space to spread out. Introverts can find several nooks to read and relax away from the extroverts. We made lots of memories and will definitely be back!

This house is huge, historic (built 1844), in excellent condition, with just the right amount of funk. The manager is amazing...he really cares about his place, his clients, and even the rest of humanity (no spoilers; you need to read his guidebook to find out.) Everything works. The grounds are beautiful (see some pics here:) There's a great little park nearby. Don't miss a walk up the dead-end street; it's full of friendly people. All the rules are reasonable. It's close enough to Asheville to visit easily, but far enough to feel rural.
Easily 5 stars on my scale...

Perfect for our family getaway!
We had a family getaway (my family, my sister's family, and my parents) and had a great time! This house was perfect for our 3 generation get-together. The home has a lot of character and is nicely decorated and well stocked, so we had everything we needed to enjoy some meals together at the huge dining table or to relax in the huge living room. While the neighborhood isn't great for walking around (no sidewalks, etc.), the location was super convenient! The grocery store is super close, and it was very easy to get to downtown Asheville, the Biltmore, hiking, etc. all within a short drive. The owner is super communicative and friendly, and has done a great job renovating and decorating the home and making it a welcoming place for visitors.

The house was plenty spacious for our large group; however the location was not as expected by anyone in our party. The property sits close to a busy highway and is surrounded by homes. So if you are looking for a place with tons of privacy, this place is not for you. But if you are more interested in a spacious interesting space to spend quality time with friends and family then this may fit the bill.

A Perfect Place For Our Perfect Day
The owner was extremely accommodating and helpful throughout. The place was for perfect for our large group with the multiple rooms, bathrooms, and extra oven. It felt secluded yet close to everything that we needed. The neighbors were a little closer than we expected, but there were zero issues and everyone was kind and friendly. Would recommend for a large group, whether it’s two families that are becoming one or lifelong friends.
