Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our ninth year of staying at the Sandpiper, but first time in Unit 12B. The unit is well-decorated and well-stocked. Master bath was recently renovated and has walk-in shower, which is very handy for seniors with limited mobility. All other furnishings in excellent condition. The unit was very clean at check-in, more so than other units we've rented in past years. The only disappointment is that we were told by the management company that this unit's owners will not be renting on a monthly basis in the future. We will have to see what units are available, if any, at the Sandpiper if we choose to return in 2024.

However, if you like to have a view of the beach from your porch, I would not recommend The Sandpiper.

A few thoughts to make this u it better. Spend $50 at Walmart and go buy more kitchen utensils. Also the water pressure in this unit is not good at all water dribbles out in shower. The refrigerator makes a very weird sound all the time too. Seems to work fine but sound is annoying the one bed has a mattress topper that isn't good and keeps coming off the bed. Get a new mattress please A bigger TV in living room would also be a draw. Yours is quite small in there I did enjoy my stay though and kids did too. Lastly there was a lot of dust on some of the surfaces. Cleaning crew didn't do a great job.

There are only two suggestions that we would like the owner to know. The king bed desparately needs a new mattress—we ended up with back pain from the mattress. Also, it really needs a recliner , when you need to put your legs up after a long day.

Made it much more enjoyable to be able to swim in the warm water after a day of golf or cycling. Beautiful condo with all the cooking utensils needed.

The condo was clean and had everything we needed, as if we were home. We enjoyed the beach, as well as the pool area. Also, the barbecue area. We were very satisfied and have already discussed our plans to come next year for a longer stay. We enjoyed several of the restaurants nearby-Sea & Suds; Shrimp Basket; Hazel’s; Cosmo’s; Oyster House, and Pancake Island.

There is a lot of activity on the beach so if you're looking for seclusion, this would not be your place. Lots of life, laughing, families and fun all day long! flaws: The a/c and refrigerator were a little noisy and the construction allows for lots of overhead noise from the tenants above. The wood decking also allows liquids to spill from the floor overhead. (one morning while drinking coffee and reading I got a milk shower from above....that was NO fun. Concrete decks or top floors for me here on out!)Otherwise...great location for family, affordable price and nice unit.

Just not excited about quiet time starting at 10:00 when you are on vacation with a large group. Security could have been a little more understanding without threatening to call someone else.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent 2 weeks in unit 12B. This unit is very old and in need of some repairs. The refrigerator has a loud noise. On the last day the dishwasher decided to leak all over the floor. The beds are really needing to be replaced. The one bed is so low and had linens that did not even fit correctly. It would be a benefit if the parking was assigned to the unit. Often when you return there is no parking available under the units. This was our second year at the Sandpiper. The location is great. The unit needs to be updated and a deep cleaning needs to be done. The party over us was very loud both outside and inside. We like a get together of friends but need to respect other people. The man who came by and helped get the TV's going was great. Please thank him again for us. We did not have any problems with Bender. Most of the problems need to be addressed with the owners. We will be back to Gulf Shores but will be looking for a different rental.

The condo was nice but they could have at least let us use the chairs around the empty pool. It would have given us a place to sit in the sun away from the wind.
