We return again and again to this cute unit which has everything we need for our family of 4. Can’t beat the location and Ka Jolla Shores has more restaurants this year too!

Enjoyed staying here. Short walk to the beach, and convenient access to stores and restaurants. Nice outdoor seating, and equipped with boogie boards and beach towels. We will be back.

This property is so perfectly located to enjoy all the The Shores has to offer. No need to make coffee in the morning, just step down the street and get some quality java at a cafe. Restaurants and ice cream and a mini mart are all so close! The property itself was clean, water pressure was great in the shower, the air conditioning really does cool down the living room and master bedroom - we slept so well during a rare S. CA heatwave. There were plenty of towels for our beach days. Highly recommend - and we will come back. :-)

Super convenient location close to shops and restaurants (as well as the beach), but quiet. Well set up for a family vacation.

Family of four with adult kids - stayed August 2022. Had everything we need - lots of dining options a block away, about 4 blocks to the beach, nice outdoor sitting areas, beach toys and boogie boards. Room with two twins does not have an AC unit, but overall temp was comfortable despite August heat. Highly recommend.

Fantastic rental. Literally steps from the main strip of La Jolla Shores will all of its great restaurants and shops, with the beach another few minutes past there. The house was beautifully appointed and cozy, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and spacious, and both patios were incredibly private and beautiful. Knowing we'd always have a garage parking spot was peace of mind in such a busy area, too. Perfect home base for our family of four. Great host as well!

We were very happy with all aspects of our stay. John was great in contacting me with all the info. The house was very nice with everything you would need. I loved the succulents and the little patio area. It was close to everything what more could you want. We parked the car in the garage and left it there.

Wonderful relaxing breakfasts on the porch w 10 foot hedges, lots of privacy. Beautiful succulents to look at. Fully equipped kitchen. Short walk to beach and restaurants. Lovely area. Relaxing. We walked on Torrey Pines Road and discovered the coast walk which has the towering cliffs and sea lions and the roaring Pacific Ocean.

Very clean and well equipped in a great location. Comfortable beds and sofas. Private outdoor patio with dining table. Kitchen has all we needed Just a quick walk to the amazing beach and shops and restaurants. Owner kept us well informed and gave great attention to details. On-site parking is a bit tricky but manageable as you share it with the other half of the duplex Would book again!

Great location at La Jolla Shores providing quick access to Torre Pines golf course, quick drive to La Jolla Cove, and easy access to I-5. Only a five-minute walk to the beach at La Jolla Shores. Great local restaurants a block away and very fun well-stocked market 100 yards away. With La Jolla Shores being so popular, the off-street parking in our own driveway and garage made parking at this unit worry free. Great cottage feel in a fantastic part of town. The keyless entry eliminated having to walk around with annoying keys. We'll be back!

John's place was exactly as advertised. The location was perfect- very close to the beach and right next to the outdoor restaurants in La Jolla Shores. We walked to the beach with our 4 year old every day and enjoyed his patio where she played. The inside of the house was also nicely decorated and had all of the amenities we needed. We really had a nice time and only wish that we could have stayed longer. John was also very responsive to our questions while we were there. We will definitely stay there again if we go back to La Jolla Shores.

This little gem was perfect for being so close to the beach and restaurants. The kitchen had everything we needed. The TV was replaced with a new one which I appreciated. Great communication! I will definitely stay here again.

This was a great place to spend a few days touring colleges in the SD area. We loved having dedicated, off-street parking, quiet outdoor space and restaurants just around the corner.

We have been visiting La Jolla for 17 years. It’s our go to family spot. La Jolla shores has kayaking, snorkeling, surfing and beach activities galore. Usually we stay in a hotel, but wanted to try VRBO this trip. The host, John, was great. Very responsive. The property is cute, clean and close to everything. It’s just what you need while staying in La Jolla Shores. We love the restaurants in town. All offering outside dining, due to the current state regulations. They closed down the street, so dining is outside with an ocean breeze. When we visit, we park the car and don’t use it again until we leave for home. The beach and restaurants are all within easy walking distance. La Jolla Shores has my heart! Can’t wait to return. Thanks John for letting us use your property! Lisa

Arrived after sunset, had to drive around the block approx 4 times trying to find the house. The address isn't viewable from the street at night and the directions provided by owner were not nearly detailed enough to find it. Side door was unlocked upon arrival. House smelled SOOOOOOOO strong of cleaning supplies it was nauseating. Took shoes off upon entering, within 20 mins, my feet and my 1 year old's feet were black!! Living room has no window coverings. There is a large hedge to the street, yes, but with the huge windows and patio, there is a very vulnerable feeling without window coverings. Requested a pack and play for the baby-- was no where to be found and had to call owner. It was in the shared, detached garage (would have never found this without calling) and it reeked of car fumes when we brought inside the house. We stayed for a total of maybe 45 mins. Between the overwhelming smell of cleaning supplies, the dirty floors and the smelly pack and play... we weren't going to stay the night. There was literally no way my child was going to sleep there. We contacted VRBO who contacted the owner, who was entirely rude and did not offer any help or apologies, but wished me luck when I told him we would be requesting a refund through VRBO. We stayed at a hotel for our entire stay and were not refunded a dime from this owner nor VRBO. Apparently pictures of our filthy black feet weren't enough and VRBO cannot refund based on a sense (smell) that they cannot prove. I spent hours of my life on the phone with VRBO and finally just called it a loss. Totally disappointed all around. Worst VRBO experience ever. This is a great location and we were super excited to have more space than a hotel room, but this is cheaper than anything else around it for a reason. Save yourself the headache and rent something else. It will be worth the extra dollars to avoid this nightmare and this terribly rude owner.
