My family and I loved this home. The location is ideal. We felt like we were walking into the Brady Bunch house. We loved the retro feel. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Bonus for our dog was the great long hallway to play in. Our Frenchie felt very welcome with the blankets and games in the house.

We had communicated to the manager well ahead of our stay of our concerns with previous reviews pointing out to AC not keeping the house cool He assured me that the owner had the AC serviced this spring. We arrived and the house was 85degrees. My husband quickly found that the filter to the intake was covered in one to two inch dust and the grill was also covered in dust WE replaced filter and proceeded to cover windows with blankets that faced the setting sun, because the cheap bamboo shades did not provide any coverage.
Two shower heads were missing. Lamps were old and not working. My husband had to tighten and fix
The main track lighting to dining and kitchen had to be adjusted by my husband on a ladder so the bulbs worked.
Renters beware, this house is dated and not maintained

Our family of 10/12 had a perfect Bethany holiday - so much like we remembered 20 years ago - but now with grandkids, too! A wonderfully located beach house, on a quiet street just a block to the beach and just close enough to the shops and arcade (!!!big deal with this crowd) for the youngest to feel some freedom.
This is a well thought out house, with a great layout. We loved the large common area with all the bedrooms down a separate hall in the rear. The house is furnished and stocked with everything we needed to make meals and play games inside, and with lots of parking and a pair of outdoor showers - very helpful considering the hours we spent at the beautiful, broad beach.
We look forward to returning to this very spot!

The location of this rental home is great; however the house and leaves much to be desired. Upon arrival on a Saturday we were informed that the dishwasher was broken - A rep from "Appliance Dr." was sent out on Tuesday evening and informed us that the dishwasher motor was broken and could not be fixed because he didn't have the part. With 10 people we were not happy to have to wash dishes by hand the entire trip.
Additional items of note, which sent to our property manager during the stay:
* several light bulbs out in main living area- we found some extra bulbs in utility closet and replaced the lights we could reach without a ladder
* dryer was not drying well- upon inspection we discovered that the lint filter visible below the house was completely clogged- this was very concerning as it is a fire hazard! We cleaned the filter.
* fridge light bulb burnt out, water leaking in fridge
* washer off balance- very loud when running
* beds very lumpy / uncomfortable
* sink drain stopper stopped working in one bathroom
* spiral stair steps and railing loose and rusty, concerned with structural integrity
* outdoor porch railing wobbly which I noticed due to our elderly guest leaning on it
Overall very disappointed by the state of the property and lack of upkeep. We decided to leave a day early.

The main feature of this house is its proximity to the beach. Large enough to hold 2 families comfortably. The 5 bedrooms are a plus! The house is very dated inside, but the beds are comfortable, the bedrooms are SUPER quiet, and the house is well equipped. Stay here to be a 2 min walk to the beach.

We had a great week at this house. The location is great - you can't beat the short walk to the beach, and we were still close to the shops. It appears that things have been updated a bit since the photos in the listing and the house was very comfortable. There were plenty of dishes, silverware, and cookware for our family. We did have an issue when we arrived and there no longer was a pull-out queen sofa bed in the den (different furniture than the picture). However, Jeremy from Delaware Vacation Property Management answered my call on the first ring and was extremely helpful. I explained the problem and he said he would see what he could do. Within 20 minutes he texted that cots would be delivered within the hour - and they were. You have to be careful if you go up to the roof deck because you have to duck under a part of the roof that hangs over, and we never figured out how to get the water temperature in the outdoor shower below scalding, but overall we loved the house and would definitely return in the future.

Walk to the beach! Was great to bring our dogs. Lots of space inside and out! Kitchen well stocked with utensils, pots, pans, gadgets and appliances. Good internet and Dish TV. Maybe because we were the last people to rent this season (last week of September), the place is in need of some TLC – deep cleaning and deck/railing repairs. Also, the living area/kitchen/den got extremely warm (80+) every afternoon. But overall we enjoyed it very much.

Pros:
Great location 1 block from clean and quiet guarded ocean beach.
Plenty of room for extended family.
Nice rooftop deck. But be careful, spiral staircase too open and children can fall through railing.
Cons:
Cleanliness of house. Cleaner hadn’t dusted, outdoor garbage cans and recycling were chock full even though garbage was supposed to be picked up the day before. Trash in kitchen trash can. Someone’s dirty underwear in yard, yard weedy and overgrown, especially in back.
Back stair railing very loose (contacted property manager about cleanliness and railing safety).

The beds are uncomfortable with layers of foam which does not help with comfort. One bed collapsed because the slats were rotted and broke. Ice maker did not work and only 2 cube trays were available, so we had to make ice continuously. The a/c broke, but the property manager responded very quickly. In the bathrooms, there was nothing to hang on to when taking a shower or bath, which was rather unsafe for aged family

Great price for a practical home in an amazing location!
We really enjoyed our stay at 117th 4th St. The home is very practical and clean. It is just half a block from the beach! We took full advantage of this by taking morning and night walks on the beach, in addition to spending a good chunk of our time in the ocean. It is also walking distance from the boardwalk, restaurants and other amenities. Definitely recommend this property!

The home itself has a central combined family room, kitchen, dining area, with high pitched roof and ceiling fan. It is a great room to gather for family dinners, movies and games. There are 5 bedrooms 4 bathrooms and 2 outdoor showers which provides plenty of individual space for 2 families of 5. The roof deck is also a fun place to hang after the beach. Allowing pets was an added perk so we didn’t need to leave them at home.
We had to call them because the dryer was not working and they responded quickly, not only did they buy and install a new dryer they also offered us free activity tickets for our inconvenience. Kudos for the prompt customer service. There were many utensils , blenders and 2 coffee makers. No shortage of bowls, pots pans and dishes, but not a lot of spare room for groceries.
All in all a great vacation, comfortable house, convenient and accommodating. We would return again and do recommend this property and management.

Probably for security but not listed and needs to be disclosed for renters The house is freezing cold in the morning and very hot by 2 pm. Not ideal for a summer vacation home at the beach with 100* weather. Be very careful going to the roof deck because the stairs are little and we almost hit our heads on the roof boards that are on the steps. The grill was rusty and full of charcoal from last use.

WE had a great time over Labor Day Weekend. The house is a block and a half from the beach and less than a ten minute walk to the Bethany boardwalk. The check-in was easy and smooth. The house had everything we needed and we enjoyed the grill and deck a lot. The house is older and has normal wear and tear. The one negative was the sofa bed was very old and extremely uncomfortable to sleep in to the point that our friends preferred to share a twin bed/sleep in the bunk bed rather than sleep on it. Would rent again.

There were some exposed nails on the porch, and the top porch is for sure not safe for kids. The metal steps going up to the top porch are rusty, so be careful. There were multiple windows that were nailed shut, one missing an arm to open, one that had the brackets missing screws so when you opened it you couldn’t get it shut the normal way. There is a nice cross breeze in the front room especially but can’t use all the windows. The front room doesn’t really get cool with AC, so the windows are really needed. Some of the mattresses need to be updated as well. Some of them had wood pieces of board under them and some were so bad that both people rolled into the center. If you are going, take knives for kitchen-there are several there but none of them cut. The fridge does not shut all of the way, so push hard. We weren’t able to use (or we chose not to after the first night and it got clogged) the garbage disposal. With all of that being said, the layout of the house really is great and so is the location.

Jeremy was very helpful and responsive. House was comfy but a bit rundown-great location and bedroom setups. Two outdoor showers! Really enjoyed the free activities tho Covid limited our outings. We had a great week!

Nice location. Unsafe top deck, local neighbor not pet friendly. No wifi in rear of home.
We enjoyed the size and location of the property. The upper deck is unsafe for use and is in need of repairs. We called and they came out to make repairs but neither party was able to do anything as the job requires some major work, so we were unable to use that portion of the home. The mattresses were subpar and not comfortable :(. The wifi did not work in the back of the house which was dissapointing because there were no TV's in those rooms. The house is pet friendly, but there is no grass on the property for pets to relieve themselves. We had a run in with a very confrontational local neighbor. After I allowed my dog to go to the bathroom in her yard (I picked up after my dog), she yelled at me and followed me back to the home, called us renters and other obsenities, then called the police and tried to have me arrested for trespassing. Of course after hearing that she came on the rental property uninvited (essentially trespassing) and after the police found out we picked up after our dog, they dismissed the accusation and asked we stay away from the unreasonable and angry owner. Aside from that, we made the best of our stay. We did not have any other option than to do so. After some upgrades, the home will be great. If those are made, we would happily visit again.

A very comfortable and usable beach house!

We spent a great week at 117 4th St. The location is fantastic, about 1/2 block from the beach and a short walk into town. There are 5 bedrooms total, 2 masters with queen beds, new mattresses delivered while we were there, and 3 rooms with a combination of bunks and twins. The kitchen is very well stocked with most anything you could need to prepare a quick meal or a complete dinner for 10 or more. There’s lots of room to spread out. It was great to be at the beach after sheltering in place for the past several months. Everyone was social distancing on the beach. All the shops and restaurants require you to wear masks but they aren’t necessary at the beach. All in all, 117 4th is a comfortable house in a great location, we would definitely come back again.

A lovely week at 117 Fourth St.
The house was lovely and spacious in an absolutely optimal location. Every imaginable accommodation was there. Easy walk to the beach, boardwalk, shops, and restaurants in quiet Bethany!! The end of the beach we were on was not at all crowded in spite of peak season. It is hard to envision a more restful time. Nice touches included spacious driveway, one outside shower with a excellent water flow and shower head as well as private separate shower and dressing space, and a coded locking-unlocking door system eliminating the need for keys.
As a former owner of a rental house at the shore, I have a few gentle suggestions:
The queen mattress in the second bedroom (not the master) desperately needs replacement. The person who initially chose this room was not able to stay there.
The door stop on the front door is broken.
I believe we paid for linen service in the contract but were instructed at the last minute to bring our own linens which we did. A bit of a surprise.
First shower outside had almost no water flow - an inconvenience to the first (and last) user.

Enjoyed your home
In general we enjoyed your home. Because it is only 1 week, I do not have the time to complain about the problems. The washing machine is not working. There is not enough flushing water to clean the cloths. We could not wash cloths. The bed mattress were not comfortable. The queen size bed at the end of the corredor on the right side, it has been used so much that you wake up at night feeling that you will fall in a hole. There are not enough lights in the living room. Thanks for sharing your home.

Five years in a row
Our family of seven has been coming to this house five years running. While it's not as spectacular in appearance or amenities as other nearby homes, its prime location (less than a block to the beach), accommodation of dogs, and plentiful parking is a huge plus for our four-car, two-dog family. This year we stayed for two weeks instead of our usual one week visit, and we'll probably be back next year, too. Jeremy is very responsive, the house is comfortable, and you just can't beat the location if you have to bring your dog on vacation with you!

Bethany Beach
We had a very nice week here with family. Town is bustling with many choices, and about a :15 walk away. The beach was very nice, pretty close, about ten minutes. Must pay for parking in town, but we rarely took the car.
Home was fine, with a well-stocked kitchen, and good air conditioning during a very hot July week. A top floor porch to look around, and an outdoor shower and foot-hose.
Would stay here again; the July 4 fireworks were just great with our close seat. Beach got crowded/busy, but could still find a spot.

Great place Almost...
All in all we really loved this house. It was spacious enough to accommodate our large family and really well equipped. The beach and town were a short walk.
Our only problem was that on the first day we noticed that the dishwasher was not working. We contacted our iTrip contact Jeremy (who was awesome) to report the problem. He contacted the owner who was supposed to get back to us to triage the issue.
He never called us and we never had a working dishwasher. That's not cool considering the number of people we had in the home. We were finally notified on our last day of vacation that a repair service was coming. I was really disappointed. For what we paid, I expected at least better communication from the owner.
This would be a 5 star rating if it weren't for this issue.

The place was close to the beach and town and allowed pets. The main reason we chose to pay the high rent for this house was that it allows dogs. The house was adequate. The dishwasher broke the second day we were there and after several phone calls we were told the owner would contact us. No one ever called or came to look at the dishwasher until the day we checked out. With a house full of people on vacation this was not acceptable to at least have someone look at the dishwasher. This was very disappointing and we expected a higher level of service.
