One of a kind!
This 1925 ‘camp’ was the most amazing rental ever! It was seeped in history, authentic, filled with art and antiques and last but not least, love. The living room was comfortable and charming and featured a hearth fireplace, the deck was a stones throw away from the waves crashing on the rocks, and all other rooms were unique and cheerful.
Perfect for the scenic beauty and nature of birds, squirrels and a frequent visitor chipmunk. Couldn’t have asked for a better vacation spot. Thank you for sharing…..

Enchanted June
What can I say? It was a childhood dream come true. Little cottage in the woods right on the ocean with crashing waves on the rocks. Other times just the gentle sound of the lapping water. Sunbathing and lunch on the rocks reading my book and my husband doing his photography. So lovely watching the lobsterman pull traps or in the afternoon sun and white puffy clouds watching the graceful sailboats gliding across the waters. It was the things movies or books are made of. Our host Jeff, was very kind and accommodating. The decor was lovely and comfortable cozy. The bed was oh so comfortable which is a top priority. There is a gorgeous dish of awesome sea glass to look at but don't take!!! Lol Very comfortable in many ways. The rocking chairs on the porch watching the boats go by or at night watching the Strawberry Super Moon come up over the ocean it was stunning!!! We did have a few issues because we were the official Guinea pigs of the season being the first ones there. Im sure everything will be a ok now that the season is in full swing.😃 Like i said Jeff was a very accommodating and helpful host. We would recommend for sure. Patti&Alan

If you want to experience Maine in its authentic glory, this is the place. We got married at the Pemaquid Point lighthouse and honeymooned in the cabin. Full moon over the ocean. Wonderful experience!

We stayed here before and came back again because it's so peaceful and tranquil. The view is spectacular. Great retreat to get away from it all. The place has everything you need. If it's available at the time we need we'll be back again.

For a romantic get away, look no further
We enjoyed a WONDERFUL stay at this cottage! From the moment we walked in the door we felt comfortable and relaxed. Everything we needed was provided for a romantic, cozy stay. Atmosphere, comfort, quiet, peace and amazing scenery. The furniture
( including the bed!) is very comfortable, the kitchen more than well equipped, the living area roomy with large windows to support a spectacular view from the inside, a great porch for sitting anytime of day. The fireplace warmed us on cool evenings. The setting is unique with the woods behind and endless sea in front. Best of both worlds! Sigh. We hated to leave! The road is GREAT for walking and we paddled our kayaks from the Sandy beach near by. The owners are personable and clearly desired our stay to be perfect as they were available to answer and even welcomed, our questions. Truly we felt like a guest in their home ( as we were!) rather than just staying in someone's "rental". The care and love the owners have for their home is obvious and adds to the ambiance. We definitely would LOVE to return and stay here again.

Wonderful place
My husband and I had a lovely week. The location is awesome- tucked away on a quieter peninsula on the mid-coast, away from the touristy areas but plenty to keep us busy. We kayaked, hiked, fished, ate at Shaws in New Harbor, Coveside, Round Top Ice Cream, Crissy's. The house was perfect for us - right on water and super cozy. We had fires on the cool nights, watched the boats from the rocking chairs on the porch, and cooked several yummy meals in the kitchen (the finish on the cast iron pans is superb). My only recommendation would be a new mattress; it was quite soft for 2 people. I would return to another stay, it was awesome. Thank you for sharing.

Peace and Comfort on the Bay
If you love peace and comfort and the presence of the ocean right outside your door, this is the perfect getaway. We spent hours reading and watching the water in the ever-changing light. The camp is charming without being precious, festooned with antique curios and old books. A wonderful place for writing and watching the ebb and flow of the tide and reflecting on the goodness of life.

Wonderful stay
My wife had a great stay the first week of August. This cottage is right on the rocky shore looking out toward the bay and ocean. It is a good area to explore, although there is only some walking or hiking right around the cottage. Short car rides in the area can take you to land preserves with 1-2 miles hikes. Lobster and steamers are available right in town at a couple locations, and Coveside Marina and Restaurant has a more complete menu. A little further takes you to Damariscotta and more of a selection. If you like golf, the Wawenock Course in Walpole, about 7 miles away is open to the public.
Drives to Wiscasset, Bath, Rockland, Camden are a little further with all that they have to offer.
My wife and I wanted a place to relax, read, walk and be by the ocean and it was ideal. I would not take small children or even teenagers to this cottage unless they like to do these things.

Thank you for such a warm, inviting home away from home. Everything about our stay was simply wonderful. We really enjoyed the comfy over size chairs, the serene view, and the peaceful feeling of relaxing on the porch. Maine was everything we wanted and more. We enjoyed every single minute at the cabin. We thank you again for making your home available and we look forward to coming back again soon.

Cozy Cottage with Fantastic Views
We have visited South Bristol many times before, but this was our first time at this wonderful cottage. We were welcomed by our FAVORITE VIEWS across John's Bay to Pemaquid Point and out to "open ocean". The granite boulder strewn shore made us wish for "young legs" that could leap from boulder to boulder. The frequent traffic of lobster boats, sailboats, ducks, etc. breezed by...and there were more lobster buoys in view than we could count! The cottage is cozy and "delightfully" decorated in "Cottage" style... 'Colorful rag rugs on painted floors, old signage, vintage picnic baskets, yellow ware, benches, cupboards, a stone fireplace, book filled shelves & tabletops, comfortable furniture, a good bed, and a rocking chair lined porch.
Because the purpose of our time in Maine this year was relaxation, we dialed down to "low activity" level, cherishing our hours to ...talk, ...dream, ...read, ...rest...and read some more -- and what a perfect place to do just that! But we slept so well on the comfy bed each night, with the sound of the waves lapping the shore, that we were energized every day or so to venture out. So many sights, hikes, and activities are within an hour or less of South Bristol in any direction!
The South Bristol lobstermen's co-op steamed two large lobsters for us in their LARGE cooking pot on our first night and several thereafter. We brought them "home" and consumed them with 2 ears of sweet corn...yum! We DO love Maine lobster, and to be able to purchase it reasonably and nearby is a special treat that we frequently enjoyed.
Early one evening we were driving into Damariscotta to get Round Top's maple walnut ice cream cones, when suddenly we saw crossing the road in front of us a mama Mallard followed by seven TINY Ducklings -- and was she ever rushing those guys to HURRY across. Of course, we stopped...and flashed the lights for oncoming traffic to stop. What a SPECIAL sight it was!! Make Way For Ducklings!!!
Our forays out were ALL eventful and fun!!! However, our most restful and regenerative time was spent ABSORBING the water views, the sounds, and the peace of the cottage! We DO, indeed, hope to return!

Ten+ Stars: Can't wait to return
I talk too much, and I love to write. But I don't have words for my week in South Bristol, ME. In the days leading up to my vistit I had terrifying buyers remorse. I immediately regretted how isolated the house was and couldn't get past "don't drink the water." The drive from Portland was a scenic 90 minutes filled with anxiety. As soon as I turned on to the drive up to the house I was certain I was lost and the National Guard would be looking for me by dawn.
I couldn't have been more wrong (or more RIGHT based on my 1st instincts!) This cottage is divine. I could have never in my wildest dreams imagined anything so close to heaven. Just when I was sure I was lost, the woods opened up revealing yet another prefect little hidden Maine cove. Two more driveways down and I was there. Heaven. The cottage is perfect. I referred to it several times as "rustic" but that might not be the right word. It's immaculately clean and decorated like something from the pages of a magazine... oh wait, that's because it is straight from more than one magazine! It had every amenity I could imagine. There must be several hundred books in the house, my idea of nirvana. The view is arguably the best in all of the state! Weather permitting, you MUST sleep with the windows open. On the first night I woke several times thinking I heard thunder... only when the sun came up did I realize it was the OCEAN crashing on the ledge!
I thought I'd spend seven days traveling up and down Route 1 but on THREE of those days, I couldn't bring myself to leave the house. I found the BEST sea glass, several pieces of milk glass and pottery. I picked dozens of mussels from the rocks and ate like a queen! It took a few days for me to get the Wi-Fi working which may have been divine intervention as disconnecting was why I was there! There's just no end. The bed is possibly the most comfortable ever, I had no trouble with the charming vintage stove. It took a flashlight to figure it out but once I saw how the damper opened it was easy breezy and I had the BEST fires every night and morst mornings! The water was a non-issue. There were at least eight one-gallon jugs of water and I bought a six/eight pack of small bottles to refill. Never thought twice about it.
I could go on forever but I'm running out of characters! Jeff & Sharon were WONDERFUL hosts. My questions were answered within the hour, they even checked in to be sure I was OK.
PERFECT!
