We stayed in late October during an area wide shut down due to a mass shooting in Lewiston the evening after we arrived. We were happy to have been at such a beautiful location with plenty of space to “shelter in place” as opposed to a hotel room. It was a very peaceful setting when the world around us was in chaos. Thankfully we had picked up groceries on our way in. We purchased live lobster when stores re-opened 2 days later & had all the necessary pans to cook it & tools to eat it. The house was very clean. Others commented on it being out of date, but that is more due to the decor. We had Wi-Fi & good TV reception, & essentially everything we needed including games & books to pass the time when we couldn’t go anywhere. If we’re ever in Maine again we would stay here again.

Great stay
Property is very nice. Great location next to state park. Dock was awesome to sit on and listen to the afternoon end before the big family get together at the fire pit in the evening. We especially enjoyed the highland cows across the street from the driveway. They were eager to come and say hi every time we went to go see them. The home is perfect for a large get together or for just a nice time away. I hope to go back again. We had so many lobsters and the home has everything you need to cook more lobsters than you can eat. Thanks for the memories

Amazing Stay!
There were eight of us sharing the home, staying for a friend's wedding. There was plenty of room and amenities. The location on the water, amongst fields and farmland, was spectacular!
We hope to make it an annual visit.

We were here over Christmas and had a wonderful stay! There was plenty of room for 6 adults. They had everything we needed to cook with in kitchen, games, air mattresses, walking trails and shopping nearby. The large dining table was a wonderful gathering place for us plus extended family who visited for Christmas. The views and sunrises were absolutely spectacular! Excellent location and manager, Jackie, was prompt in answering any questions we had.

What we loved about staying here: the view of the shoreline. Our 4 granddaughters loved exploring the rocks looking for shells and taking long walks through the countryside. The kitchen had everything you could want (except a can opener that worked). We went apple picking outside of Brunswick and came home and made an apple pie. It was very peaceful and so relaxing for the 4 adults. Day trips to Bath, Kennebunkport, Camden and of course Freeport LLBean! The house had enough water, towels, pillows and the makings of a fire for smoores. It was awesome!
The only one small suggestion I have is to pull everything out of the kitchen and clean the cabinets and anything in it. I had to wash anything we used because they were either sticky or dirty. I washed all of the silverware and the container because it was dirty.
We loved it and ALL of us would love to come again in a couple of years. Thank you for allowing us to make memories at your house. When you get to be grandparents it is the memories of spending time that will be remembered; not just buying "stuff".

Very nice place
Really nice house the family has here. First time using VRBO and was very surprised how they had everything we could possibly need to stay. The pictures do a good job featuring the property. My family of 6 stayed in middle of February and just loved everything about it....Nice Job!!! and thank you.

A great house in a beautiful, quiet location with easy access to Freeport and coastal attractions
This is a great house with large well-appointed rooms that all face the southeast cove off Wolf's Neck. Less than 100' from the water, the view is a constantly changing play of weather and water, bird life and woodland creatures. Our winter stay saw temperatures range from 2 to 45 degrees, but the house was comfortable throughout and we made good use of the gas fireplace on the cold nights. Access to Wolf's Neck park is a real bonus of this house: 240 acres of Maine woodlands with trails both through the woods and along both the east and west coves. Owls, hawks, osprey, eagles, a hundred ducks of a half-dozen species, deer, turkey and fox: a menagerie. So our next plan is to come back in the summer. Don't take our week!

Great place for family reunion
My father rented this place for a long weekend in which we had a family reunion. It was a cozy place with amazing views. Minutes from down town Freeport and during the holidays it was a great close place to the shopping. Would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful vacation home!
My friends and I have been renting this home for several years. The house is beautiful with lots of room. It is right on the water and close to Wolfe's Neck State Park. Nice area for walking or biking. The house is always very clean and well equipped. It is close to Freeport with lots of shopping and restaurants but yet it is away from the busy town. Jim has always been great to deal with and now Jackie has also been so helpful. We always try to plan a few days for a girls getaway there and it is always a great time!

Beautiful property
Our family of 4 spent 4 nights at this home, and the pictures don't do it justice. The property is incredibly beautiful and private, with a nice canopy of trees that keeps it cool without obstructing the views. The home was clean and comfortable, and kitchen well stocked. The wildlife was incredible, as we were greeted by a fox outside the kitchen window upon arrival, and a deer one morning in the front lawn. The dock was perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee, reading a book, and launching a swim in the bay. We enjoyed meals on the deck, and a nightly fire pit to roast marshmallows. We also had fun hiking/running in nearby Wolfe's Neck State Park, lounging, and taking trips into Freeport. Jackie was terrific to work with, providing lots of helpful information before our arrival. We highly recommend this rental, and hope to get back sometime soon ourselves.

Super Short Getaway
What a wonderful place to relax and get away from all the modern day schedules. We roughed it for 4 days/3 nights and could not ask for better. Three guys from the hectic ways of the Hartford, Ct area.
Away from it all and still close enough to civilization for whatever you need. Jim DeGrandpre is an excellent host and answered our questions with a wealth of knowledge. Try the local beef on the grill with a side of lobster. Surf and turf at its homemade best!
This is a vacation spot away from it all. Sit back on the deck and watch the lobster boats pull their pots directly in front of you.
Hope to return again Jim if you will have us. Will have to bring the wives next time. Such a nice place that they will also wish for a longer stay.

Family of Ages One to 95 Loved It
We rented this house during June 2009 for our extended family that ranged from a 1-1/2 year old to a 95 year old great grandmother. In spite of perhaps the rainiest week of the year, we had a wonderful time. We visited a state park beach on the sunny day, the local Craft Fair just up the road one day, L.L. Bean on the monsoon day, and watched our young grandson throw rocks picked up on the beach back into the water every day. Early risers of our group got to see deer in the yard, and briefly, one morning, a fox. This house was a convenient and very comfortable gathering place for us as we arrived from our North Carolina, Arizona and Ireland homes and relaxed together for a week. The kitchen was well equipped and made preparing the lobster feast we enjoyed, along with other meals, easy. The only negative we could mention about the house is no first floor bedroom for elderly guests use. But, for us, that was just like home; we must help grandmother up the stairs when she stays at our house, also.

Great Weekend
We stayed for a long weekend in May. The house was situated in a very private area. The house was clean and well equipped, grilling with views of the bay was especially nice. We enjoyed the wonderful views of the bay and the abundant wildlife including an Osprey nest with chicks we could see from the deck. We went for a walk in the state park about 1/2 mile up the road and were able to take a Kayaking class from LL Bean that explored the surrounding waters. It was a great weekend.
