The staff was helpful & courteous. The pool was nice (a little small though with basic old tiles), the view was really good. I liked that they had table tennis too and a nice lobby where you can chill. Kata beach area in general is quite empty these days but you can find a 7 eleven, few restaurants and bike for rent nearby easily.

It was a little far away from the Kata beach, was about a 10mins walk to the beach. There was a power outage during my stay and back up generator only provided a single light in the room, it got really hot a while later. The AC was poor, it didn't really work well, even at 16 degrees and it was a hot day! It made the room cool enough to tolerate the heat. The bathroom was exceptionally small and there was no door lock apparently either. Would've been nice if the towels were hanged higher, instead of below the sink, where they would almost always fall down and get dirty. Considering it was a really low price, I shouldn't be complaining, but I expected a lot better at an int'l chain. Especially after staying at a 4 star resort there near IBIS, only $5/night more expensive and was a lot better than Ibis, in terms of everything.

Old rooms, cleaned only twice in 7 days after request

Highly recommend to stay here. The location is excellent and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I also liked that breakfast starts at 6am for early rises as myself.
