Staff - all friendly
Gym - excellent.
Location - opposite NCP, Yates bar , a club and another young pub. Not a particularly welcoming area.
Parking - dirty and very difficult to pay. Ended up paying full price as machine broken and NCP app difficult to redeem dis pint.

Room location was great near lift. Breakfast was good lots of variety and freshly cooked.
Loved the size of the bed and so comfy too.
Shame no sauna at the health suite.

The staff were very friendly and the Sunday lunch was good
Breakfast was cheap and tasteless I tried once and not again.
Housekeeping was appalling - both days I had to chase to get my room made up and on each day it was after 430pm when the room was cleaned. I have NEVER had that experience in any hotel I have ever stayed in
I was in an executive room and booked 3 massages and had to pay to HIRE a dressing gown for the sauna- unacceptable
The TV didnt access any main channels

Staff were friendly and helpful, food was amazing and the bar staff were brilliant.
Room was super small as was the bed, we requested to move rooms as we ordered and XL bed, after 10 mins of explaining this we were finally moved. The new room had a lovely size bed but the air con didn't work, no toiletries were left and dirty tooth paste around the taps. We asked if they could change the AIR con in the room to a lower temperature but were told they could not do so. The TV was broken, therefore unusable. Such a shame as we have stayed here many of times and come back due to the higher spec.

The staff, rooms are lovely and big
Hot buffet at Breakfast, it felt it had been left sitting for hours

Room very clean and large, with even a safe box to keep your things in. The pool, jacuzzi and sauna were also very nice, and they opened early in the morning to let you enjoy a swim before going into the city. 24 hour room service was also amazing, calling them at any time if you needed anything and they would promptly bring it to you; whether it was a spare HDMI cable, a bath robe or even complimentary bottles of water.
Prices of the food in room service were quite expensive for the portions you get. Also, the breakfast was not nice at all - I could not even finish it and had to buy breakfast elsewhere. I had also paid for later checkout by 2 hours, however they blocked my keycard at the normal checkout time so I was locked out of my room in my swimsuit.

Clean modern property / central location
Breakfast was cold. Loud noise from centre until early hours although it was right in middle of town. Felt was expensive for what it was

Noise! Doors banging, people taking and running around in our corridors until 1 am

I didn’t realise that breakfast wasn’t included in the room rate. I paid £318 for 2 rooms, paying that much I would have thought breakfast would be included.
I wasn’t given the opportunity to book twin rooms on the website and we were told when we booked in that they would get housekeeping to go in and change the rooms from doubles to twins but it didn’t happen, we weren’t too fussed about it as the beds were big enough but if it wasn’t possible to change them then reception shouldn’t have offered.

the quality of the food was very poor. the staff in the restaurant were indifferent and the decor and lighting depressing. sandwiches ordered for our lunch time meeting had little fillings and were unappetising. coffee was extremely weak

The rooms were very clean and the staff polite
The only thing that disappointed me was that i’ve been told by many people who’ve came here on their anniversary that because they included it was their anniversary they put roses etc on the bed. Obviously i was expecting this and hoping that that was the case but it wasn’t so i was a bit disappointed. Also the chairs in the restaurant aren’t the sturdiest because i almost fell on the floor as i sat down as a chair leg broke

The location was great 5mins walk to the shops, 10mins walk to the Cardiff Castle.
The buffet breakfast was very good.
The staff were excellent, very kind and extremely helpful.
We had a disabled room, but very disappointed in it. On the top floor.
We didn't have any bottles of water in the fridge when we arrived as it said we would.
There was no side table on one side of the bed, so had to use a chair. There was a cold draft all night so had to use a towel as no blanket available, in the room. Only found out ourselves the following morning that there was a window open behind the curtains (not told about) also a gap in the very long curtains to one end so had light coming through all night. No toilet seat lid. Very unhygienic indeed.!!!
Ordered room service which was a big let down. Only half of the meal turned up, so had to ring down again for that to be sorted. When it arrived it was too late. We didn't eat it. There was no salt or pepper as standard. I also asked for some water for the room, when it arrived it was warm, and in a sparkling water bottle was warm tap water,??? and we were charged for it. Not happy about that.
The tea and coffee facilities were a bit short, only 2 white sugars 2 brown and 2 sweeteners. One of the sachets of sugar =1/2tsp of sugar. Two people soon ran out of sugar. With one cup of tea. When used not replaced. So had to get some from the restaurant.
Noticed that the staff obviously clean around furniture not under or move it as I found tissues under the bed. Also in the lobby I moved a chair and there was cigarette filters and a lot of dust.
Had we not been going to the England v Wales rugby 6 nations, I would definitely have booked elsewhere.
The swimming pool had pillars in the middle of it, if more people were using it at the time you wouldn't be able to swim.
The bar staff were very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast staff including the female chef very lovely.
As were the front of house reception team.

The spa was lovely, the room was spacious.
We found a contact lens in the bed which neither of us wear them.
Maybe a little more attention needs to be paid to the cleaning.

didnt have a phone in the room when arriving, but after telling reception, this was resolved within minutes.

A really friendly welcome when we arrived half an hour early and not even a mention of it being an issue, just some warm conversation, helpful information and a pass to our rooms. The member of staff dealing with us even conversed with us in Welsh and left us with a smile and a great first impression of the hotel. Ardderchog.
Comfy, clean and cozy room that had everything we needed. Huge bed. No issues.
Access to gym and pool included. The gym was surprisingly well equipped and the pool area was well kept. Really good for a post workout swim.
The room was clean and comfy, no issues but maybe there's ever such a slight hint of the bathroom needing a bit of TLC soon... but that's probably only an issue if you're at the insanely fussy end of things and have unrealistic expectations for a £99, busy city centre location.

Food and staff excellent
Local car parking was very expensive. Discount using hotel's code didn't always work. I presume that is an NCP prob. The high cost of parking will affect any future plans.

dreadful breakfast. all selections of English breakfast were dried up under hot plates and were so bad we waited for fresh food to arrive. when it did the scrambled eggs were totally cold. the bacon ,sausage , black pudding were dry and inedible. really disappointed
