Property and rooms are old, worn, outdated. Window overlooked property being demolished. No fire alarm in room. Water leak in bathroom ceiling. Had to fix TV cable connection.

The room was very spacious with armchairs, good heating, and a very comfortable bed.

Everything about the room is quite tired looking including the furniture (except the bed) and the view from the window is of dilapidated buildings.

Spacious, relatively room with all facilities that we required. Relatively quiet despite the proximity of a major expressway at the rear of the premises and a moderately busy road at the front. Large, well illuminated bathroom with an excellent shower was the best feature of the room. It was very useful to be close to the wonderful Queensgate Shopping Centre in Lower Hutt CBD and it was so nice to have coffee by the scenic beach at nearby Petone and lunch further around the bay at Days Bay before we needed to drive to Interislander Ferry Terminal to catch the afternoon ferry to Picton.

Laura, the extremely friendly, helpful lady owner and her management staff were well aware that the motel has a rather tired appearance and informed us that it would soon be undergoing major renovation. In particular, the carpets were worn, but in its current state at restrained prices, the motel does offer good value for a nevertheless perfectly comfortable overnight stay. For our fundamental need of favourably located accommodation ahead of a booked ferry crossing Fernhill Motor Lodge was fine.

disgusted at cleaning staff entering room before checkout time while we were still in the room (not fully dressed), did not wait for any answer before unlocking and opening door immediately after knocking.

Perfect location when you need to catch an early ferry. Easy access from the motorway. Lots of parking, also easy access for bigger vehicles (van). Shops are relative closeby, nice walk to stretch the legs after a long day of roadtripping.

The room was a bit smelly and smoke smell from smokers nearby gets into the room easily.

The servicing of rooms was great. Parking. Free use of laundry. Good size rooms.

Old and worn,

Really nice place to stay. Convenient location, not far from the town centre - only 15 mins across the bridge. At the same time it's very quiet - there are no busy roads around. Amazing service, stuff is incredibly friendly and helpful.
