room wasn’t cleaned or bed made although it stated there was a daily maid service and they stopped serving meals at 7:30 at night when most people would want to eat

Room was clean and tidy although in need of decorating. Beds very comfortable. Excellent breakfast and lovely waiting on staff.
The location is idea for Ambleside and the surrounding areas. if you have a bus pass the local buses are free to travel on
Comfort of the beds, and hot shower. food was good and cocktail's excellent. Very near to attractions in the area, all within walking distance.

Friendly and helpful staff, decent location and good sized room
Not much. We were taking part in a bike race so needed to be up early. The staff gave us some food we could eat in lieu of the normal breakfast so were great in that regard but difficult to rate the regular food given we didn’t get chance to eat it. Also, a tad pricey compared to other places I’ve stayed in Ambleside but guess that may have been a reflection of the particular weekend we stayed

The White Lion is located right in the middle of Ambleside so a cracking location for exploring the surrounding area. The staff were great and really helpful. The food is good honest pub grub and the room was roomy and a high standard of finish.
The room could have been cleaner, by the bed there were clipped nails from a previous guest.

Very large room. Lovely and clean. The bed was really comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Although the hotel was in the centre of Ambleside there was no night time disturbance. Great location to see the wonders of the Lake District.
I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was spotlessly clean and the room was big. Perfect location.
The only thing wrong was the breakfast. There was no cereal, yoghurts, fruit etc only the cooked breakfast

good location. room was clean and quite big
windows were full on condensation and mouldy. it is rooms above a busy pub and we had to push past a full bar to get to the room. little in the way of extras for the price I could have found something better. my daughter asked for champagne in the room as a surprise but it was a no show. staff too busy with the pub to have time for hotel guests food was mediocre
