Was central to places to visit and beds were comfortable. Plenty of room for 5 people. Nice to have a garden at the back. Quiet place to stay.

There was no hairdryer. Rather chilly. Shame fire was out of order. Shower could do with replacing as could not get any hot water through it. Hot water tap in bathroom was loose as was the toilet roll holder. Nicely designed barn conversion but a bit tired looking. Could do with a heavier curtain in main bedroom.

It was a peaceful and idyllic location and a very comfortable and cozy barn conversion, beautifully done and homely. The neighbours were friendly (they showed one of our children the frogspawn in their garden pond) and we felt comfortable being there. Recommend this place for families (there is a lovely collection of children's books) and people who like peace and quiet. Close to Brampton for coffee and cake (The Capon Tree was friendly with delicious scones) and RSPB Geltsdale was minutes away by car for any birdwatchers. The garden was also a little haven of garden birds.

I got slightly chilly by the chimney area because there was a wee draft (wood burner not in use for understandable safety reasons), but this was fixed with a blanket so would recommend to bring one in colder months. The rest of the cottage was warm and cozy.
