I was only there for one night but had one of the best meals in Sri Lanka!.. A selection of different curries, it was delicious. The room was large and clean. I was made to feel very welcome and given a massive breakfast after my safari, thanks for having me!

Very nice guest house with great owners. Sudath came to pick us up in Ella and dropped us in Tangalle after our stay. He also organised our safari where we saw lots of elephants. His wife was also very friendly and cooked us amazing breakfast and dinner!

Make sure to bring insect repellent as the dining room is outside. The rooms do have mosquito nets but as you are in the jungle, there are quite a few mosquitos around.

Very big comfortable room with a terrace right in the middle of the jungle. Amazing safari tour with one of the owners sons. Had an amazing dinner and breakfast as well.

The owners are lovely and very helpful. They organize good safaris in the national park for a fair price. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The meals are delicious.

Host and his wife were both really really helpful with organizing transportation for our futur trip, also the safari was well priced and the food was delicious

Really good bungalow with comfy bed, it was very clean. I could go on Safari with them and saw so many elephants (including baby elephants) and all kinds of other animals. Dinner was good. Hosts were super nice, brought tea and cookies for free and helped me with the bus connection.

Some insects and lizard in the room, but then it's next to a national park. I don't mind.

Sudath and his family are very kind people, making you feel really comfortable and the stay in the bungalow special. From the terrace you can see different animals just passing by. The food is delicious and you should make the safari there as they take the time to explain everything.

it was quiet and in the middle of the jungle. we had our own terrace and dinner and breakfasts was also good. The owner was very kind and we had a great Safari with him thank you :)

Sudath and his wife were excellent hosts and gave us a very warm welcome. We booked a 3 hour evening safari with Sudath and it was one of the best experiences we've ever had! Sudath is an exceptionally experienced guide and is very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna, we learnt so much - he knew the park like the back of his hand! We came back to enjoy a delicious home cooked Sri Lanka supper, which was by far one of the best we've eaten during our time here! We had filling breakfast the next morning which was again, absolutely incredible! Sudath kindly gave us a lift to the bus stop the next morning and ensured we got on the correct bus to Ella. Great value for money!

Sudath and his family were amazing hosts. The food was the best we had in Sri Lanka. The safari that Sudath provided and guided was amazing. He has such a depth of experience and knowledge that it enables you see truly unique sights. Sudath’s English is brilliant so he can explain in depth about the diverse environment. We saw lots of elephants and other animals.The rooms are very clean and the showers are electric and have plenty of hot water and a good fan. I would fully recommend everyone to stay here.

great hosts, excellent food and very profesional safari

super nice Hosts, very welcoming, you could ask them for help at any time. the host organized a very good safari, immediately from the property starting. as a solo Traveller Herr added me to another group, so it would be less expensive. the 4hour safari turned out to be almost 5 hours. super great! plus, the food was great, best curry I had so far in Sri Lanka and great, topical breakfast.

Sedath was just an amazing host and Safari Guide! He spottet every animal from far away and made the safari tour through Udawalawe Nationalpark a real experience for us! I would do it any time again! Thank you so much!!

Awesome Nature / Jungle setting. Great safari service. Great terrace with large chill chairs. So much attention to detail (tea at 5am, drop off at bus station, ...). Owners truly care about your experience. Food is absolutely awesome and in great portions. Very spacious room. Shower with pressure.

We couldn’t have liked our stay at Silent Bungalow more. On arrival we were treated to tea on our room’s large terrace, then in the evening had the tastiest meal we’ve had Sri Lanka(we’ve been here 3 months) - all the food is amazing! The room is very basic but airy, comfortable and spotlessly clean and the terrace is a delight to relax on. We arranged a 4 hour safari which was very straightforward and our driver was the owners’ son. He was very friendly, knowledgable and amazing at spotting animals. All in all it was a relaxing experience with a huge amount of animals seen. When we returned we were provided with an enormous breakfast. The owners were both lovely people - incredibly helpful and friendly. I cannot recommend Silent Bungalow highly enough.

Sudat and his wife are great and very experienced hosts. The morning safari with Sudat was better than expected, he explained every animal very well. The dinner and breakfast cooked by his wife was typical Sri Lankan food and very tasty. We definitely recommend!

Excellent value for a very good price. It is conveniently near to the Udawalawe National Park. The owner and his family were fantastic and so very friendly. We enjoyed the safari with the owner’s sons who are clearly very passionate about nature and told us a great deal about the animals and plants seen in the park. We had a dinner and a breakfast there and both were absolutely delicious feasts!

The host was very accommodating and gave us some tips as to what to do in Udawalawe. The property is located relatively close to the Elephant Transit Home (around 10-15 min by walk). We also much enjoyed the safari co-organized by the host, which was cheaper compared to the other options available in Udawalawe. The room was spotless. Delicious breakfasts and lunches!

Superb safari is arranged by guesthouse, Tea and cake arrived before the trip and breakfast after comeback. During the safari guide spent a planty of time in every location and showed us hided gems. Staff is helpful and communication is easy.

The room decor is ascetic.

The owners were the kindest people. The Bungalow is set in a beautiful jungle location. Extremely beautiful, the wide variety of birds come along to eat with chipmunks and hens. The owner organises the safari tour into the elephant park and the guide knows absolutely everything. Other group of tourist gathered around us to listen to his explanation. They packed some lunch for us when we left. The owner also organised our taxis to other cities. Best service and place ever. Peaceful and kind.
