We arrived in Redondela early afternoon after walking 14 km. We had terrible colds( we’d ruled out COVID. It was a long weekend and prices rose accordingly. My Duo Lingo was not sufficient to call and book a room- so I turned to Booking.com. Hotel room with double bed.All we wanted was a private quiet room with a double bed. Booking.com had categorized the place as a hotel not a hostel., with a double bed - not an Albergue with lots of beds. We were not happy. We were angry pilgrims who wanted to sleep. María was so considerate that she gave us the room, and did not rent out the remainder of the house. She transformed our stay into one of amazing comfort. We cannot thank her enough.

I booked this facilities due to its excellent location, Please note this is a flat converted in al albergue, small rooms with several basic -metalic bankbeds-. When I arrived Maria told me she thought I was a "men" despite the fact that booking shared all guest information. Then she told me I could not use the female toilet facilities because a group of females have booked the second room including a sole used of the women toilet. She showed me my bankbed and checked me in and told me I have to use the single male toilet/bathroom facilities. After some consideration and base on the conditions of the accommodation I decided the leave and find an alternative accommodation. I left and note and requested. Maria offered the refund. I tried requesting the refund via bookings but it did not accepted due to the fact that I already check in. After a while a refund of 50% was made. Maria was accommodated and did not object the refund request. I found it a fair transaction!

Crammed facilities single toilet/bathroom per gender. This may be suitable for other travellers but not for me.

Maria was so kind and welcomed our family of eight warmly with cookies and cold water when we arrived! Everything was clean and tidy and felt like a home away from home.

Great location. Host was friendly, recommended us places to visit and a great place to eat. Clean. Overall the stay was good

Our room had a balcony to main street so it was a bit noisy in the evening. Also another room was separated from ours only with a roller shutter and our neighbors were noisy in the morning. It wasn't a place for a quiet sleep.

I was sleeping in the hostel alone.

Nobody noticed that I booked the hostel, so I called the host several times (my roaming fees were 3€/minute), he told me the code to enter the place. Nobody showed up until the time I left the place. The room had no windows, the place was quite smelly and a bit dirty. Quite an unpleasant stay for 30€ during my Camino de Santiago.

Very noisy, as my room was exactly next to shared living room and other people didn’t care! Also there was a window between my room and next room and aso I could hear everything ang people nextdoor didn’t care...
