Tolle ruhige Aussichtslage am Waldrand und geräumiges Zimmer. Sauberes Bad.

Mit kleinem Aufwand könnte das Zimmer erheblich verbessert werden. - Treppe zum Zimmer mit Paketen vollgestellt - Teppich auf Treppe verschmutzt - Am Sessel im Zimmer fehlt ein Bein - Birne in Nachttischlampe defekt - An Zimmerwand blättert die Farbe ab - An Bettumrandung fehlt eine Leiste - Es gab mal einen Fernseher. Wenn schon ein Zimmer ohne TV, dann sollte man auch alle dazugehörigen Kabel entfernen.

Der Check-In am Nachmittag war unkompliziert und schnell. Das Restaurant im Erdgeschoss hat einen tollen Ausblick auf den Baldeneysee. Das Bad war soweit ok und sauber.

Frühstück wurde zunächst beim Check-In verabredet und dann Abends mit einem Zettel an der Tür storniert. Am nächsten Tag war erst ab 12 jemand im Haus - wir sind bereits gegen 11 Uhr - ohne Frühstück - abgereist. Der Flur zum Zimmer ( es war nur ein Zimmer belegt / vermietet) war schmutzig und scheinbar seit längerem nicht gesaugt. Eine Wandlampe im Flur war beschädigt - dort bestand Verletzungsgefahr. Im Zimmer fehlte der angekündigte Fernseher, das Bett knatschte bei jeder Bewegung und war sehr niedrig. Auch hier war eine Nachttischlampe defekt. Zum WLAN fehlte die Info im Zimmer. Die Tapete war an mehreren Stellen abgekratzt, Der Tisch wackelte und es gab nur einen Stuhl. Trotz Schriftverkehr mit dem Gastgeber und versprochener Erstattung des Frühstücks erfolgte nichts. (nun sind es ca drei Wochen)

Great food and very nice location

Communication was poor, nobody about at breakfast time, everything was locked and had to leave without breakfast.

Nice quiet location close to the city

I usual never write reviews but this place was super. The room was really big and besides the double bed had 2 single beds. The dogs (adult and puppy) were totally welcome. The restaurant was great. When I asked them to warm up my dish a bit more they prepared a completely new meal. They never asked us for any ID or credit cards, just gave us the key. I will never stay anywhere else in Essen. And for people who have dogs, there are woods and paths galore.

Nothing, the place was just fantastic.

Breakfast was great -- varied and imaginative, with many original touches (half a passion-fruit served in an espresso cup) fresh, crisp rolls, delicious cheese and cold cuts, lashings of tea and coffee.

A hot boiled egg might have been nice, but to be fair, it's not part of the standard idea of "continental breakfast".

Stayed here before and local is great with lovely restaurant and bar (watch our for the bees if you sit outside)

The room was really hot so maybe an aircon or fan. The breakfast was not the best this time. Maybe covid related as no buffet but not enough for 4 people.
