Location and cheap

Dirty, needs a makeover and new more comfortable beds.

The photos online is not what they are like in person they are tidy but the smell is awful smells like damp caravan, the mattress are so uncomfortable

The smell of the rooms , the bath had rust from it being old , the mattress so uncomfortable and springs hurting me , the cleaners came made the beds like a 5 year old didn’t re stock coffees tea etc and didn’t want the spoon and cups

Basic but comfortable. Staff friendly.

Shower was scalding. I was aware that there was music playing at around 6 am. Not a problem for me as I was up and it wasn't directly below/next to me, but I can imagine it could have been unwelcome otherwise.

The location is far from Cardiff Central but fortunately the train station is just down the road

I was charged twice for my stay and expected the hotel to notice the error and agree a refund however Siraya the manager was adamant that I had book twice and they would not refund the cost Shocked is an understatement. I would have been a returning customer as working in Barry over the next 3 months and would have recommended to my team but given the response I will not be returning so I hope the extra £144 was worth it At the point of check in I was not told about the additional booking nor given another key and therefore this feels very dishonest I sm sure members of the council will be interested to hear about how visitors to the Vale ate treated

Beautiful room, beautiful views and half the price of all the other hotels and the bar was very nice

there is nothing to like about the property just because of the RUDENESS of the staff

the staff , how they react, rude staff, don’t respect you, charge you high

Me and my partner stayed here for 4 nights and loved our room. We had a sea view room and was very clean and comfortable. However was unaware that you have to go through the hotel to the back of the hotel outside up loads of steps which was sometimes wet and slippery to get to the room, really struggled especially when pregnant. Wasn’t worth the view with all of that every day. Parking isn’t the greatest only had 5 car spaces had to park on the road. Wouldn’t stay here again especially for a week, better off just for a day or 2.

Went for a wedding and the event was great. Brilliant day and night

The DJ threw a strop at the end of the night that almost ruined the event

proximity to Cardiff airport and price

not as expected photos on website we’re misleading. the shower was too hot and couldn’t be regulated. was disappointed that there was no tea and coffee facilities in the rooms as we arrived late after a long day travelling. parking was difficult and ended parking on the road quite away from the premises at 1 am

We loved the bath and the view the staff were nice and warm

Bed needs changing as we could feel all the springs in the bed.plus there were no coffee or tea in the room like last time Toilet brush was unclean

I like the room service option, the bed was comfortable, would recommend it for a nice night away, Barry Island isn't too far, max 10 minute drive which makes it good.

Their food options were very limited when you look on their app for room service, we ended up going out to eat elsewhere than the bar in the hotel.

Where do we start 1st there was no tea/coffee making faclities and when enquired was told by senior staff member who was more concerned with looking after wedding party that was there..she said that to keep room cheap no facilites were avaliable to us...we paid £100 for this room We were placed in room were wedding party was underneath us an were told to expect noise till at least 1.30am...why couldnt they have put guests who were attending party in them rooms above and put other non wedding guests in other rooms away from noise ? There were three windows in room non opened/closed properly and needed windows open as it was boiling in room and seagulls were perched on pitched roof within feet of our open windows We was also told reception was 24/7 but when my partner went down to order drink in morning 8am and also when we checked out 9.15am there was sign saying reception closed Apart from it being clean in room nothing else is good value for money wise and wont be stopping there again sorry
