We've stayed here several times throughout the years. We absolutely love it! We love the 70's feel and the cleanliness of the cabin. The internet is hit and miss but we're on vacation and want to enjoy the beauty around us.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cabin in Cuchara. The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of towels and linens. The cabin is in a beautiful location close to many recreational opportunities. Thank you to Janet for offering up your cabin for rental and to Shella for keeping the place so clean and tidy.

Really nice little cabin. Back deck was awesome, secluded by trees and could listen to the creek below. Cabin was well set up and the host and caretaker did an really great job at communicating with us prior to and during the stay.

The property was beautiful, a little old and out of date but nothing that took away from the experience. Hummingbirds we’re so awesome. Location was absolutely stunning, there is a trail in the neighborhood that has an incredible view from the top of the mountain. Would definitely stay here again. Only downside was that the owner did not let us know that there would be absolutely zero service within a 10 mile radius. When we got to the property, we couldn’t log into our phones to see the check in code. We had to drive about 15 min out, get service, pull up reservation details and come back. Would have been nice to be told to have that information ready prior to arriving. Was not fun to do that after a 10 hour drive. Also, there was a coffee maker but no coffee. Bring your own so you can sit on the porch in the morning!

The location of the cabin is in a beautiful area. The cabin was clean and well stocked. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it if you are able to stand the altitude. We Texans had a little trouble with the altitude.

Very nicely appointed cabin close enough to Cuchara and La Veta for short trips. The location is great-secluded yet with enough to do nearby. The online listing does need to be updated, as the golf course in La Veta is no longer open, and Cuchara is two miles away, not a 10 minute walk. Otherwise, we had a great weekend!

We needed a nice place to stay while visiting our rural property. Much nicer than any hotel anywhere close. We would like to return to this cabin when visiting the area in the future. Only negative is all the neighbors are very close in proximity.

We had a great weekend at your cabin. Thank you so much did sharing it with us. The deck was amazing and really enjoyed drinking coffee and listening to the river from there. The cabin had everything we needed to fix breakfast and dinner. There was plenty of space for our family of 5.
The cabin is a short walk to a great hiking trail and also close to town. We enjoyed our morning walks and great fishing at Bear and Blue lake.

It was a great place. Even though it’s in the Spanish Peaks neighborhood, the trees surrounding the house gave it a sense of seclusion.

This is a beautiful place to get away and had all the amenities you could ask for. The decor was nice and comfortabke. The check-in/out process was a little confusing, but only because there were a few different places to find instructions. Thank you for letting us share your lovely home!

A short visit to the mountains was just what we needed before sending our oldest to college. Peaceful.

We stayed at this wonderful cabin with our 4 kids (9 and under). The cabin provided a great space for us to cook meals, relax between outings, and sleep to the peaceful sound of the river nearby. It was great seeing the sunrise and sunset on the mountains within view of the living room and deck. So happy we chose to stay at the cabin in the woods.

The cabin was just what we all wanted as a getaway—great size, setting, atmosphere, and it was comfy. We certainly enjoyed our stay.

This cabin was adorable & had such a fantastic vintage vibe. We love the functional radio cabinet. Awesome deck wrapping around 1/2 the house.
The walls are VERY thin, so we had to be quiet after my son went to bed. It was a fantastic location for us, as we were visiting with family staying at Yellow Pines Ranch down the road.
Check in was super easy and much appreciated. I had trouble viewing the PDF with check-in procedure & the host emailed it to me within a couple hours of sending a VRBO message. Thank you!
We really enjoyed our stay. We wish the bunk beds had rails on the top bunk. Also, the queen bed in the stand-alone room was quite uncomfortable to sleep in. It hurt both of our backs. Aside from those minor things, we liked it a lot!

We had a fun time at the house! It was close to nice hiking and lake fishing. On our rainy afternoon, there was a nice large table for games (the owner provides some but we brought our own). The appliances seem to be recently updated and worked well. We had what we needed for cooking (a few basic spices were in the cabin too when we were there).
There was miscommunication about trash pickup that the owner was made aware of and hopefully will be resolved.
The only other potential issue was the bunk bed in one room was a little crooked/wobbly. It was fine for our small kids but I would be skeptical of an adult or teen using the top bunk.

Such a sweet place. The river behind the property is picturesque and the town is out of a Hallmark movie. We had a wonderful stay!
