Staff are amazing, couldn't have been more engaging, helpful and friendly. What a lovely experience
Hotel is tired and needs some upgrading, tiles missing round pool, garden furniture falling apart, room I stayed in was in need of a complete overhaul - cupboards wouldn't shut, paint peeling, bathroom clean but old....

During our Sri Lanka vacation, we stayed at the Amaranthe Bay Resort for the last two nights. The Junior Suite we booked was spacious and elegant, with the highlight being the Jacuzzi Bath – a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploration. Adding to its charm, the balcony offered a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding nature, and we were fortunate to witness stunning sunsets over the nearby lake, creating unforgettable memories.
Although the resort's large inviting pool was enjoyable, some sharp corners around the area caused minor inconveniences and led to an unfortunate toe injury. Nevertheless, our overall experience remained highly enjoyable.
The hotel's convenient location allowed easy access to the ocean and beach, where we found several delightful restaurants for lunch or dinner. Inside the resort, we had the pleasure of dining at their lovely restaurant, offering reasonable prices and a varied, tasty breakfast. The staff was friendly and attentive, and while there was a minor disagreement about the exchange rate during payment, the managers handled the situation with professionalism, swiftly resolving any issues and leaving us with a positive impression of their commitment to guest satisfaction. Amaranthe Bay Resort's well-maintained and peaceful ambiance made our stay perfect.

We loved the jacuzzi!
Our room was spacious!
Everything was nice until we experienced several cuts on our feet, toes, knees and fingers after swimming in the small swimming pool as we had our 1 year old baby.
Followed by the time we had to wait for our dinner to be prepared was too long.
Also 60 minutes massage is offered for 60 USD, is a bit on the higher end.
Minor repair work and maintenance on the pathway cracks etc is needed.
Besides this we still enjoyed our stay, thanks to the Jacuzzi!

The beautiful resort is situated in the perfect location. Modern and clean resort with many amenities. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Huge compliments to the resort staff. The food was divine!! The best chefs. Stay was 10/10. Definitely recommend this hotel. The best in Trincomolee

Staff were very friendly, always there to help. We very much enjoyed our dinner, which food was a four course meal, beautifully presented and it tasted delicious. The room was very spacious, with beauty wooden floor and furniture, a spa with a view over the pool and lagoon. We took the bicycles and visited a beautiful beach only 5 minutes away.

Excellent place for a quiet relaxing break. Rooms are spacious, had gorgeous high beams and was well lit. it was wonderful to wake up to a soothing river and beautiful mountain view. perfect for a relaxing evening bath too. The team was welcoming going above and beyond to help sort out transportation around Trincomalee at a reasonable rate to letting me check at my own convenience. Especially appreciated them helping me to get local currency my tuktuk ride without leaving the hotel - big deal for me as a female solo traveller.
Mayuran and Roshan at the front desk took great care of me for my short stay. Definitely one to visit for excellent service, stunning views, and great range of food at affordable prices. Thanks for my great stay
I was looking forward to using the spa. Unfortunately, the therapist was away. Notwithstanding, I would still recommend the resort.

A wonderful location, simply stunning. Lovely spacious rooms. The staff were fabulous, each and everyone of them , Jeroshan, Mayuran, Karthik, Karjuan (in the Wild Bar), and all the young ladies who served dinner. They went out of their way to make our stay lovely.
All day menu could use more veg options (but that's only as we are mostly veggie). Hope the management invest more in upkeep (a few small details here and there). It's such a great place and with more character than a chain.

The executive suite is very spacious. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Consumptions in the bar and restaurant are reasonably priced. Good food. Nice swimming pool.
The excursions proposed by the hotel are expensive. If you have a driver/guide, he might be able to organise it at a better rate.

Room was large, great view, staff were amazing and so helpful. Easy walk to the beach, though the closest way is through other resorts, which they may or may not let you through. close to Fernando’s beach bar which was terrific.
They did not have any wine available by the glass when we asked, though they did have it on the menu, not sure why, not a big deal.
The pool is beautiful, however be aware it is in full sun in the afternoon.

I spent 4 months in Sri Lanka. I came from Ukraine in February just before the war started. And only in Amaranthe Bay I was able to relax just before my departure. Such a quiet place to have some rest, spectacular view on the bay. Thought it is not beach front with no sea view and some time needed to walk to the beach (like 5-7 minutes) - the location is great (they give bicycles). And almost no mosquitos. Recommendation - you want to take a room with a jacuzzi! As for the room size - it was big, with a sitting area, high ceiling. That place turned out to be perfect for me and exceeded all expectations.

Property is not up to standard mentioned on booking.com
-Pool water is green and water not clear
-Rooms are not cleaned properly full of dust and spider webs
-Pool area tiles broker with very sharp edges
-Bar, reception and other locations in property are left unattended and you have to waited ages to get served even just a bottle of water
-we highly not recommend this place - not hygienic and don't let the pics on booking.com or their website fool you
-AC in rooms are very noisy and haven't services for a while
-internet is very slow and most websites are blocked

Amazing room and view. 2 person jacuzzi and really good service
Food wasn't what you'd expect in comparison to the luxury resort. Breakfast and diner was medium and you'll understand why it always empty.

The room and the facilities were great. The view from the room (Junior Suite, 2nd floor) was great. Overall, the location was great. The staff was friendly and responsive.
They had a dinner buffet, but with only a few varieties. Not sure if it's because of the COVID. But if that's the case, I'd prefer A'la carte.
