Pietro makes a delicious chocolate cake :) the design and decoration of the whole house and garden area was very calming.

Caffèletti B&B in Torre del Lago (Viareggio) on the Versilia coast of Tuscany is a small artistic bed and breakfast operated by its owner Pietro, an architect with a passion for beauty and cozyness and a very kind and empathic approach (he also booked some dinner and beach reservations for us and was always available for whatever advice we needed, including sightseeing in nearby Pisa and Pietrasanta). We found the house and garden terrace to be like a small marvel of out Alice in Wonderland and the perfect getaway for a relaxing seaside vacation. The breakfasts were hearty and varied and yet unfussy, after we managed to skip lunch and wait until dinner time. We also appreciated having our beach towels washed and tumble dried during our stay!

The guest house owner was exceptional in how he received us. I cannot think of any other occasion when the proprietor took such time and care to explain absolutely everything about the neighbourhood and surrounding areas. This included a map and recommendations for restaurants, activities, conveniences, and safety. All well advised. Also, really wonderful that they lent bicycles for us to use as well as beach towels and umbrella. A great added service.

Would have liked an option to have a drink after returning in the evenings. Didn't seem to be any kind of option for a nightcap. That would have been a plus. But, otherwise, no negatives.

Pietro is a fantastic host, offering tips on the local area and restaurants, also helping out with bikes and creating a lovely atmosphere in the B&B. The room was immaculate and spacious and we were lucky to have the room with its own patio area and a fridge which was very handy. The continental breakfast was generous with pastries, cereals, bread, fruit, yogurt juices and coffee etc. The B&B is well placed in the town of Torre Del Lago near to some nice restaurants and near to shops. It is about 20 minutes walk to the marina and beach and about 15 minutes walk from the train station. Would highly recommend Caffeletti and we definitely plan to visit again.

Nothing - the place exceeded our expectations. I would recommend using bikes as you can get to the beach and visit the lake more quickly.
