Impresionante PENTHOUSE frente al mar / condominio frente a la piscina en el hermoso frente del río Mediterránea comunidad diseñada de Alta Mar ubicada en el centro del distrito histórico del río Fort Myers en el río Caloosahatchee. El río desemboca en el Golfo de México, en la isla de Sanibel, a poca distancia en barco. Esta unidad de 2 dormitorios y 3 baños tiene amplias vistas al río, cubierta de la piscina y bañera de hidromasaje, encimeras de granito, electrodomésticos de acero inoxidable, gabinetes de madera, sala de estar y cocina con azulejos, 2 amplios dormitorios principales, alfombras bereberes en las habitaciones, ambos con vestidores, baño principal con ducha y closet separado, ducha y bañera combinadas en el baño de azulejos del segundo dormitorio, lani / balcón con puerta corrediza grande a la sala y puerta de entrada de vidrio al segundo dormitorio, hermosa vista del río y piscina estilo centro turístico y mucho más.

The Alta Mar experience is heavenly, from the property itself, its location, to the staff and residents. We were welcomed by all.
You'll notice that this review is a year late. That is because we tried to resolve a rental deposit with the owner, for March 2023, privately. Dan will communicate with you when he's interested in getting information. He has not returned our calls or emails about the above-mentioned issue. Yes, although we had problems, we did intend to rent again, because the resort itself is so wonderful.
The condo is filled with the owner's items. The sofa is not as pictured - it is an old thing which we never even sat on. There is extra furniture on the balcony and in the bedrooms. The beds, though, were very clean and comfortable.
The condo was not clean.
My husband re-cleaned the balcony windows because they were badly streaked.
There was mold under the bathmat in the main bathroom.
There was hair in the tub in the 2nd bath and in the vanity drawers.
The carpets had not been cleaned between tenants and were filthy.
The vacuum cleaner bag was so full that I'm amazed it did not burst.
There were no basic supplies in the property: no toilet paper, paper towels, or cleaning supplies. We've been visiting Florida for 17 years. This is the first time we did not have "starter items" of basic supplies.
Other than the carpets, we took care of these issues. We took care of the property as if it were our own.
If you're not concerned about cleanliness, or if you'd like to clean the condo yourself as we did, feel free to rent.

This host knows that he can charge up to $1000. on damages and if you look at his reviews you will see he will do this. The condo was dirty when we arrived, garbage disposal did not work and patio door wouldn’t lock. You have to make your own keys to get in and he expects you to return them then accuses you they are not the right ones. He said that we damaged the “plate “ at the bottom of the patio door and had to replace the whole door. Then said the vent on the dryer was secured by a rubber band. He had someone move into the condo 3 hours after we left. Furniture is old and uncomfortable. Towels had to be washed before you could use them. The area is nice but the host cannot be trusted. Please read all reviews!!! Think twice before renting this.

My husband and I stayed in this unit Feb 1 to March 16, 2020. We were booked until March 31, but had to return to Canada due to the pandemic. Our experience was mixed; and after much deliberation, we felt it was important to share our experience with prospective renters.
Alta Mar complex is clean and well maintained with great facilities. The residents (both full and part-time) are very friendly, welcoming and inclusive. The unit itself is well laid out with plenty of room for two couples. The complex is within easy walking distance to downtown Fort Myers and has a free tourist trolley stop right in front of the complex.
Unfortunately, the unit had not been cleaned prior to our arrival except for the bedding and towels. We notified the owner immediately as we did not want him to be paying for a service he did not receive. Instead, he failed to believe us. We sent him various pictures as examples. Again he chose to believe the cleaners. I spent several days cleaning the unit. We did not bother to inform the owner that the patio screen was ripped top to bottom and one side of the toaster did not function.
When we were forced to leave early to return to Canada, the owner was not willing to refund any portion of the payment we were losing even though the condo was available for rent on VRBO a couple of days later. As we had to self-isolate when we returned home, we were not able to mail the key for two weeks. The owner received the key on April 6. However, he did not mail the damage deposit to us until April 25th, and only after several eMails from us. This caused a lot of anxiety.

Condo was very well furnishef with everything we needed including beach chairs and beach towels. This is a very nice condo and the location is great. The residents in the building were very friendly. We saw dolphins in the river every day. View from the balcony was awesome morning, noon and especially sunset.

I stayed a month here. Wonderful location and the apartment is dreamy. Sitting on the balcony watching the sunsets was my favorite part! The apartment is so spacious and the amenities are great! The owner is so friendly and responds very quickly!

WONDERFUL PLACE TO VACATION!
I spent eleven days in this condo and it was incredible.
I highly recommend it for those looking for a luxurious vacation.
The condo was clean, have extremely beautiful view and the pool is amazing, furthermore the condo is well equipment.
Great place to spend and amazing luxurious and fun vacation.
And not least the bed was very-very comfortable. :-) (It is unusual for an European girl.)

Relaxing and highly recommendable
We stayed 2 months in this condo and enjoyed not only the unit but also the amenities of the building. Everything is very clean, quiet and well appointed. The staff in the building is excellent to work with and the location is close to downtown with restaurants, etc.

Relaxing and private Getaway
Our stay turned out great with beautiful weather. The condo met all of our needs with a kitchen, 2 bed rooms, 3 bathrooms and a laundry. Having our breakfast out on the balcony was always a treat. The pool/hot tub is never crowed and we enjoyed using the grill outside. If your interested the gym is also very nice with a great amount of equipment. Just down the road is a ton of different food options and a few shops. The drive to the beach is just around 20-30 minutes which is perfect for the days you want to spend on the beach.

My wife and I were the last renters. We are retirees in our early 70s who used this condo for 2 months while we researched and purchased a new retirement home in the Ft Myers area to be near our grand-children.
We were very committed to careful handling of the Owner's furnishings. We took pictures on Day 1 especially of wear spots on furniture and walls; but kept them for our files only. Wish now we had complained early; but we felt we could roll with living conditions since we expected to buy a new home within 60 days.
OWNER charged us with "some wear" on a sofa during our 2 month stay and withheld 40% of our Deposit. OWNER stopped all communications ..... text messaging and phone calls. Through our many follow-up text messages and phone calls, we sent photo evidence of the prior wear ...... with no acknowledgement or response.
Our Advice:
Use caution; take pictures and secure early direct acknowledgement from this Absentee OWNER ....who relies on 3rd party inspections only from a local firm when assessing damage and monies that are arbitrarily withheld from the Deposit.
