I really enjoyed the stay.

We had a lovely time at the Capone cabin. There were plenty of rooms and beds for everyone. The house had plenty of dishes and silverware, lots of extra blankets, and a real homey feeling. We had so much fun making our own toboggan run on the property which was just as good as the lot across from the snow park. The snow park was very close by also, but we didn't waste our money tubbing there.
We took a walk through the neighborhood on the relatively flat, plowed roads. Lots of families were out walking and walking their dogs.
One reason we picked this cabin was because we planned to put Grandma on the deck so she could watch the kids play in the snow. We shoveled a path for her and she was able to enjoy the activities as well.
We hope to come back in the summer to enjoy the lake and we have already penciled in some days next winter.
Thank you Cynthia for sharing your mountain home with us.

The house had everything we needed, kids enjoyed bunkbeds , lower floor was great for family which brought grandparents. There was enough plates cups etc for our large group. Particularly liked mult hooks on walls in bedrooms to hang ski clothes to dry. Dining table was impressively sufficient for mult adults.

The property was more than we expected, it was very welcoming had alot of space for all of our family to be somewhere doing something. Was a great experience overall, down to the communication with the host.

I wanted to say thank you for allowing us to rent your comfortable home for a few days. Everyone had a great time even though it rained a little on Sunday. We had plenty of tools in the kitchen to cook for 12, the grill and kitchen appliances worked great, and everyone loved the huge dining table. One of my nieces learned to ride a bike on Saturday and Sunday thanks to the flat, empty streets of the neighborhood. The kids and some of the adults enjoyed the canoe, kayak, and the foosball table. We love having family come to visit us, but our home is not big enough to hold everyone. Thank you again for making yours available to us!

We really only slept at the Capone house for three nights as we were attending a weekend wedding and attending related events all day and evening, each day. The house was very clean and had all amenities. We are sorry we didn’t have time to enjoy the canoe, kayak and bikes.
This is an older home and dated but accommodated 10 adults very nicely. Loved enjoying my early morning coffee sitting on the deck watching the sunrise over the lake. The only suggestion I would make would be to replace the towels. Those in the house are very old and rough in texture. Oh and the bear box was completely full when we arrived. We didn’t cook so luckily we had little garbage.
Thank you for sharing your home.

The location was beautiful and the lake was very peaceful. Our favorite room was the kids loft area. It is a very joyfully decorated room and my kids and their cousins loved it. The main family areas worked well for our needs.

House had plenty of room. Bottom floor as you come into house smelled bad, like mold, moisture. One of the bedrooms down stairs the white sheets were dirty, so the room could not be used and it was the main room that smelled badly and rug was wet.
Other than that the home had what we needed and the stay was good.

We had a large group of 15 people and the location was exactly what we were looking for! We loved taking the bikes on a ride around the neighborhood. I would definitely recommend the Capones place! All instructions were clear and we had no issues.

We went with friends and family(4 friends and their kids) for a quick ski trip, the house and place was nicely kept and cleaned.. There was enough wood and equipments etc.. when we went it started snowing heavily and during our stay itself it snowed a few feet.. we were stuck but the property owners were kind enough to lead us on how to clean the cars, communicate with the cleaners and help the cars get out for us to leave a day after. Overall we had lots of fun in ploughing feets of snow from the cars and also in the driveway.. our first experience and probably ever lasting.. Owners even let us stay a day extra because of the hazardous weather and road conditions.. The only thing is that there are no cell phone signals so you will have to do with the wifi at home.. overall i will highly recommend to visit the property and would love to stay again.

I've stayed at the Capone house before and had a lovely time again. This is an older house with functional appliances and a well-equipped kitchen. I will come here again.

The Capone Getaway was awesome on every level: a perfect place for our multiple-families snow holiday. The four five-year olds loved the bunk room (the parents did too!), the easy access to sledding by the lake, the proximity of ski school of Sugar Bowl, and the overall kid-friendly vibe of this family cabin. Plenty of bathrooms for our group of four small families, and a kitchen with everything needed to produce big meals for the many hungry mouths. Driveway was clear of snow, and there's salt and shovels if you need them. Cynthia was very responsive and helpful. Thank you so much for a truly memorable stay!

My family and family friends stayed at this property over a weekend - the location is close to Judah lodge. The house was well-appointed. They even had a pellet stove which quickly helped warm up the house, which was very chilly on arrival. The driveway was well shoveled despite 12-foot banks of snow and the kids enjoyed the sleds.

The house is well located and outfitted for both convenience and play. We had the best sledding ever in back of the house. It is a great place for a winter stay.

We (8 adults and 6 kids) stayed at Cynthia’s Serene Lakes house over the Labor Day weekend. It was around 112 degrees in Sacramento that weekend, but only in the 80’s at Serene Lakes. Perfect weather, and the house stayed totally comfortable, to my surprise! Some of us even put on sweaters in the evening. Cynthia is an excellent host, promptly answering several questions I had prior to our stay. The house itself was wonderful!! We used all bedrooms, including that great loft, which the kids loved. They claimed it the minute they saw it! All the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and everything worked fine. We used the canoe snd the kayak all day long, both days. Again, the kids loved it. And the little beach is close by, a short walk, which was very nice way to end the afternoons. We used the gas barbecue almost every meal, which was nice. There were plenty of dishes, pots, pans, wine glasses, etc… we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend Cynthia’s house for family get togethers. We all agreed we’d like to return and do it again soon! Thank you Cynthia for making your lovely house available! -Mike W.

The owners were very helpful and very quick to reply to our questions. Location was amazing. We enjoyed the canoe and kayak. We brought a double kayak and 3 stand up boards so all 15 of us went out together. Fun fishing swimming and biking. The cabin was organized and we loved the kitchen and the deck. Kids loved the loft upstairs. I wish the master bedroom had a comfy King size bed. All the others were okay with the bedding. Upstairs tv never worked, but kids had fun playing in the game room. We brought lots of games and enjoyed the time together. We enjoyed the train tunnel walk and a nice dinner at Donnor Ski Ranch. Great memories were made.

We stayed with 4 generations of family. It is nice to be walking distance from the beach! Kids (2 and 4 yo) were able to safely bike and scooter in nearby cul-de-sac. The Capones are great to work with. Hope to stay here again.

The property was perfect for our family. The views on the large deck, the amenities, the location were all wonderful. The house is the perfect spot to enjoy all the activities in the area. Having the bikes and kayak available made it easier for us to enjoy the area. The large deck overlooking the water was extra special. Our whole vacation was very relaxing and SERENE.

Another great stay at the Capone house
After many years of staying at various different lakeside vacation rentals in the Tahoe area, we have found our favorite. The Capone house is conveniently located in a beautiful setting, quiet and spacious for our large family to be comfortable. It is well equipped with a nicely provisioned kitchen with everything we need to prepare our family meals.

Perfect Property for 3-Generation Family Trip to Snow
The property worked great for our visit to the snow. There were spaces for toddlers to take naps, a nice bunk bed area for our teens, and great indoor and outdoor areas to play. The owner checked in to make sure all was well. We had a great trip and are already considering it as a good option for a summer trip to the mountains!

Ski Coach Retreat
A great property which was as-advertised. Perfect for our group of 12 coaches attending ski coaching clinics in the Tahoe basin. The size and bedroom layouts would make it perfect for a multi-family vacation.
