We love staying in this house overlooking the ocean. It’s clean and friendly. The access isn’t too easy but it still works. We had a great visit.

Excellent place to stay, relax, and watch the ocean. Very quiet, good amenities, and a nice spot to go for walks.

The views from this property were breathtaking. We very much enjoyed exploring the beach. A lot of the reviews mention sketchy path to beach which is actually not to bad for anybody that can handle a few steps holding onto a rope. Were were expecting way harder access that it actually was. The house is outdated but gives you a great beach cabin feel. We very much enjoyed and would love to stay again if we are ever in the area. Definitely recommend.

Place was what a beach house is! Right on the beach and view was amazing!!! Lol sketchy getting to beach but not impossible and once you navigate it well, it was a breeze! Only glitch was pretty hard to get host to respond back in a timely fashion if you had questions, but in his defense he was out of country. Would stay again!

The house was perfect! The kids loved it and the walk to the beach was so easy and short! We will stay here again for sure!

Wonderful place. Perfect for the rainy days. Beds were comfortable. Everything was very clean. Access to beach is a bit dicey for people who are not sure footed but I know Tom works on trying to keep on top of it.. Maybe some new rope that extends the whole way down? There are steps to the beach down at the Boiler Bay wayside which is about a 10 minute walk from house.
Directions to the path might be good too. No trespassing sign left me wondering but I figured it was for outsiders? Also, dog deposit amount was not clear on VRBO or at least to me. Would not hesitate to return.

Overall this location is a beautiful relaxing site. From the ocean noises to the easy access to whale watching towns and parks, this was a great pick for an Anniversary celebration.
The sunsets were amazing.
It will not be handicap friendly as there are several stair cases to maneuver. One bed was not comfortable, but since their are 2 other rooms, we were able to adjust.

Love this vacation house. It was clean and had everything we needed. Wifi worked great, as I did need to do some remote work. The view from the deck is beautiful. Enjoyed sitting out and having my morning coffee. My husband, dogs, and I did not have any trouble getting down the path to the beach; however, it would be hard for someone who has difficulties walking/climbing steep inclines. It was only steep at the bottom of the trail to get onto the beach, using a rope to guide down. I loved having the trees around the house as well, the property is secluded and very peaceful. The deck on the back of the house has a beautiful view of the ocean and was nice to sit on when it was windy. Loved that there was a hose outside to clean the sand off the dogs and ourselves. We will definitely rent this property again next time we vacation in Oregon.

Basically, everything fantastic you’ve read in other reviews of this house, it’s all true.
Thanks for a too-short stay in a great house on an amazing part of the Oregon Coast! We’ll be back…

We were so impressed by this property! The view is truly incredible, and it felt very private. Every window in the house seemed to have a view of the water. The house was clean and host was responsive. Very easy to access the house as well as the beach. Host answered my text right away when I had a question. Parking was quite tight but we made it work. 10/10 would stay again

We (4 adults) had a great time. The house was tidy, clean and as expected for a nice beach house. The views were phenomenal. The path to the beach was fine--a bit dicey at the bottom due to large driftwood logs, but no big deal to walk down to the stairs at Otter Rock State Park as an alternative. We really could not have asked for a better place to view the ocean, whale watch, and celebrate our birthdays!

The views were fantastic!!! House was very comfortable and clean. Trails to the beach were nice but a little rough to get onto the beach from the trail.

This was by far the coolest beach spot I have ever stayed at. So private and lots of beach to gaze at and walk on. I love this place and hope to be back.

First, this is a gorgeous property with views of the beach from almost every room. None of the nearby houses were occupied so very quiet. Beautiful beach; lots of fun watching the beginning surfers fall off their boards. Lots of cooking utensils, none of them warped. Parking for 2 cars, but excellent backing-up skills required (scary drop offs). Fridge is in excellent shape. Barbecue is new. Stove top is scratched and required a lot of cleaning; oven was too dirty to use. The property is NOT, however, suitable for any level of disability (i.e., needing a cane for balance), due to the stairs (entry level has main bathroom and laundry room, up one flight to living room and kitchen, down one flight to bedrooms, down two more steep flights to bathroom with tub and "day bed"), the lack of grab bars in shower and for tub), and the challenging outside entry (narrow cement path; bottom two pavers very steep). The downstairs bathroom is under construction. The tub and shower were both sandy. Also, the kitchen has very little light: we needed the phone flashlight and a magnifying glass to see the dishwasher and microwave settings. Although we expect some mold in houses near the beach, this house had enough to set off allergies. We would be back if we were younger (say, late 60s), but, sadly, this is not the rental house for us.

A three story home tucked into the hillside, surrounded by vegitation and tall trees and living spaces facing a virtually unobstructed view of the beach and ocean waves. Bed was comfortable and the downstairs den was a clean, entertaining area to take in the warm sun through the windows and enjoy some retro console gaming or movies. The upstairs living area provided comfortable lounging with a warm fire and some simple card games at the meeting table. Minutes away from Depoe Bay and Newport and about 25 miles south of Lincoln City.

The property has beautiful views, in a wooded setting. Siting on the deck watching the ocean and working at the kitchen table with the view of the ocean in front of me, we’re highlights at this home. We really enjoyed our stay. Lots of games at the house, and activities nearby. Walking down to the beach In wet conditions was not for the faint of heart. But lots of easy beach access a short drive away.
This was our second stay at this property, and we are sure to be back again.

My adult daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet this property offered us. Accommodations were comfortable and amenities plentiful. The views from all windows amazing. Parking was initially a challenge due to our own personal fears, but we soon overcame them and settled in. We hope to schedule another visit next year.

We loved the proximity and ease of getting down to the beach. Fun short 1/2 mile walk to the coffee shop at Otter Rock. Lots of great eateries in Depot Bay and Newport. Bed was very comfortable. Great unobstructed views from bedroom and living room. We appreciate a dog friendly home that is well kept and does not smell like dogs :-) Will recommend this location to our friends that surf.

We stayed here for the King Tides. The location is superb, about half way between Depoe Bay and Newport. It's in a secluded setting in the woods. There is a nice deck with a grand view of the ocean. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again.

Couldn't find path to beach, but weather didn't really permit going down anyway so wasn't a big deal. Parking is very tight, upper spit wasn't apparent.

We rented this home primarily for the views and the views were incredible from every room. The house was perfect for our family (2 adults and two teenagers) with the daylight basement a perfect place for the teens to watch television and use electronics. One teen took a mid-level bedroom, the second slept in the daylight basement, and there was plenty of space for all of us. The home looked older, with either full remodeling or renovations through out, and had everything we needed. We expected to be out of the home most of the time, but we were so comfortable watching the waves from the living room that we mainly stayed put. The house is, as advertised, secluded, and it was a bit tricky to see the very steep driveway in the dark. As others have mentioned, the house is a split level, with the kitchen and living room six steps from the main entrance and two bedrooms six steps down, with the daylight basement another full full flight of stairs down, so the house would be tough for anyone with mobility issues-- we found that this gave everyone separate space when they wanted it . The beach path is a very short walk past the home, and gets a bit rustic (slack rope rather than hand rails, sand bags as steps at the bottom of the path) but could be climbed by small children. None of us wanted to leave, and we're hoping to return again. This is a great place if you're looking for ocean access a short drive from Depoe Bay or Newport, incredible views and a well-outfitted space to relax.

Very beautiful property. Loved our stay. Loved the views! They were incredible and breathtaking. The kitchen had a great set up and had everything we needed. There was a ton of extra blankets if you get cold. There is a closet with games and several game systems in the lower level room, which was cool. The only negatives I could even say was if you had more than one car, parking would be an issue. Also there are a lot of stairs. Again. Those are not deal breakers, but it is useful information.

This rental was my destination for a solo road trip from Denver w the dogs. What a beautiful location! I agree w most of the previous reviewers regarding the positive aspects of this property. The local was quiet. The house was huge and very clean. The views from the living areas, bedrooms, and balcony were stunning! Depoe Bay is a cute town and a very short drive. Beds were comfortable and we had no issues whatsoever during our stay. .
Some reviewers have complained the house was musty and needed updating. We didn't notice that at all. Also the carpeting and couches looked new, so this looks like it's been addressed.
Am also so glad to have been able to havebmy dogs w me! Know this though. Even though it's very quiet an dogs can likely roam free as you're walking them, don't do it. There are large drop offs on either side of the road hidden by plant growth. It's easy to foresee your pup accidentally falling without a leash.
Parking is tight as mentioned in other reviews. My friend and I have 2 crossovers. I have a Santa Fe. Both did fit, one behind the other, on the driveway parking spot.
My one suggestion to the homeowner; please install a banister/hand railing on the walkway up to the front porch. The concrete is very steep and slick. I'm a big guy but my 105lb dog gave me a pull from the leash and I went flying, face first into some bushes after hitting that slick, steep spot about 2/3 of the way from the house to the driveway. If there's any type of frost, I can foresee someone really hurting themselves.
Regardless, we loved our stay. I'd highly recommended staying at this prior if like me, you want a restful getaway in a gorgeous location.

We had a fun time. Excellent views from every room of the house. Highly recommend! :)

This property is VERY secluded, during our entire trip we didn't see another person from the house, other than a few walking way down on the beach. The views are stunning and we managed to get in right as a big storm was approaching the Oregon coast. The deck and massive windows made for a great time watching the breakers roll in. The walk down to the beach can be a little harrowing for some, but my wife and I managed it fine and we loved walking down the beach and up to the coffee shop in Otter Rock in the morning. The kitchen is pretty well stocked with utensils and equipment, which made bringing our own food for our meals work very well. The small retro game library in the basement was GREAT, and probably one of the biggest treats for us (or anyone in the elder millennial set) and we played quite a few old gems during the very rainy days. All and all we really enjoyed our trip and likely will be back.

Everything was awesome except the parking and the neighbors in the red house just below to the right. If the owners are from Washington, they’re incredibly rude.

Everything about this property was perfect for a beach experience. Every room in the house has a fantastic view of the ocean. And not only a view but you can open the window or patio door and listen to the relaxing sound of the waves all night long. The forest surrounding the house adds an additional level of peacefulness. I will not book any other place on the coast. We will be coming back as often as we can. I highly recommend.

We live in Oregon and wanted a special getaway for hubbies b-day! What a pleasant surprise this was. The home is secluded, quiet and cozy. Enjoyed walks on the beach and watching sunsets. The views are spectacular. I think this will become a yearly tradition for us. Thank you Tom for sharing your little piece of heaven with us.

Couldn't have been more pleased. Views from every level were amazing but hard to beat the top deck. Even though we had unusually warm weather it had a real wood burning open fireplace that would be a real treat most of the time at the Oregon coast. Saw plenty of whales from the deck and loved the location a short drive to either Newport or Depot Bay.

Our third stay here. That says it all, wouldn’t come back for more if it was bad.
