Location, garden, design

Would be good to have a rack to dry towels and clothes. More kitchen knives needed.

Location is good and its a old teahouse of mid level quality, with nice gardens (which desperately need proper maintenance)

The main beds area underneath had not being cleaned forever and had a layer of grey dust under it.Some other general areas were not so clean either. The outdoor hot tub was not working when we stayed there and owner was would not turn it on . The grass in the carpark was 800m high..The owner was a nice guy, but has to invest some proper money into professional cleaning and maintenance. The gardens are beautiful and location too, but they badly need real proper maintenance . I was reluctant to write such an honest review as the owner/operator is a nice guy, but reality is he must wake up and undertake to properly clean and maintain the property and gardens , otherwise it becomes too poor quality and the stay is lousy. The situation of having an Onsen private tub and not turning it for clients on to save money is not acceptable. In such case this should be disclosed to clients in advance. Had we known this, we would not have stayed there.Its a nice place but sadly getting run down and needs alot of works

The property is nestled in the mountains with natural gardens and rivers. It is very beautiful. We are very lucky since it snowed on our second day and we feel like we’re in a dream. The hot tub is also perfect after a chilly day outdoor. Their local staff, Mr. Nakano, is also very helpful. He offered us a tour to Shirakawa Go which is cheaper and more convenient than taking a bus for us which is a family of 7. He picked us up at the station and even accompanied us to the supermarket. Staying at the property is such a lovely experience.

Heater is not centralized so the hallways of the house is kinda chilly.

It was nice and quite, perfect for relaxation. Enki-san was very nice, hontou ni arigatou, hida takayama no ringo wa ichiban oishii 👍👍👍

The garden surrounding the house was too dark, it would be nicer if there was few lamps on 😊👌
