We just got married & this was a perfect location, centrally located to all the beaches & downtown. We loved the private pool & beautiful views. A cooler & beach chairs are provided with the rental, which was super convenient. They do have snorkel gear but we were only able to get 1 full set to work. After coming back from the beaches with a sunburn that bedroom AC works wonders! The driveway is pretty steep, so I’m so glad the owners of the house suggested a jeep, not sure if a car would be able to get up there. Overall just a wonderful experience. Cheers!

This is a beautiful property and comfortable house. We have stayed here several times and love the addition of the pool! It is very conveniently located near a grocery store and a short drive to Cruz Bay and the Shore beaches. Highly recommend.

This property is very conveniently located and has lots of open space on the top floor and a beautiful deck area and pool. Very nicely decorated and had all the kitchen amenities needed. The only drawback was the second bedroom is downstairs with a separate entrance and at night it was a little secluded and it was much smaller and a bit musty. Overall was a very pleasant experience, the rental company had great customer service and was quick to respond.

My family and I finally got to experience our trip to St. John. My wife and two daughters (ages 8 and 7) tried to come down a year earlier but were impacted by covid, but the homeowners were gracious enough to give us a credit to use within the calendar year (which they did not have to do, so I can't say how grateful I am to them). So this year we made it. The house was exactly as advertised. The neighborhood was perfect for us. We had to drag my kids away from the house to visit the beaches!!! I particularly enjoyed the early morning walks out of the house down to the rocky beach. Nothing like a morning coffee and collecting shells while the sun is just rising. Everything about the house was perfect. The property manager, Lauren met us at our jeep rental, showed us around and answered all of our questions. The house was in great shape, extremely clean and neat. And the kitchen was well stocked. Only issue we had was the only way to access the 2nd bedroom was by going outside down the deck. My kids were not keen on this, but we managed to set them up in the screened in room. I highly recommend this house, the grounds, the location were all amazing.

The living area had lots of space. The kitchen was large and well stocked. The deck and pool were great. The property manager was very responsive. The only area of small improvement could have been having more shady area on the deck; particularly in the mornings.

Everything was as listed. We did have a few hiccups but the management team responded immediately. We chose not to rent a car, we used taxi services. We did walk to the end of the driveway for the pick up and drop offs. Our daughter liked that we saw hermit crabs, lizards and iguanas all on the property. The private pool was her favorite part though.

This rental is absolutely beautiful and so well equipped! We had coffee every morning on the deck with our feet in the pool! The house/villa is decorated so well, and the way everything is situated is perfect! They provide everything you need, including snorkeling gear, beach chairs, coolers, kitchen equipment, and everything! It is so very clean. Thank you guys for a wonderful family 50th!!!

We took our adult children for vacation in St. John and found Pura Vida absolutely perfect for all of us. It was immaculately clean and felt like home as soon as we walked in. The views were beautiful and not a day went by that we didn't use the pool. We drank our morning coffee by the pool, and we ate some of our dinners outside under the pergola. The air conditioners were well needed and appreciated in the bedrooms. We struggled initially to find out what bay we should stay near, and what we discovered about Chocolate bay is you had a beautiful view, peace and serenity, but you were extremely close to the amenities of grocery stores and downtown Cruz Bay. It is five minutes to shopping, the ferry and nightlife. Finally, if you haven't driven in St. John, the roads can be challenging as they are very steep, rough, and you drive on the European side of the road. Pura Vida was so easy to get to without having a difficult drive. The property was very serene, peaceful, and we enjoyed discovering the iguanas, the hermit crabs, the hummingbirds, and the Danish ruins. We highly recommend staying here, and we take with us treasured memories of St. John and Pura Vida.

Things of note: - the blue couch is a sleeper sofa (my 13yo slept there and said it was comfortable) - the 2nd bedroom is located down an external set of stairs (not ideal for young kids but fine for 12+). The ONLY negative to the stay was this room had a strong musty odor. I'm sensitive to that and couldn't go in there for more than a few minutes. - the kitchen is fully stocked and even had sharp knives! - washer/dryer was a big plus - the pool was bigger/deeper (in a good way) than the pic shows: my kids loved it. - the view from the deck is amazing. I loved waking up early and enjoying my coffee as the sun came up. - the grounds are rich in history; definitely recommend looking around - it was close to Cruz Bay (maybe 8 minutes to town?) - the bedrooms have a/c but not the rest of the house. Between the fans and the Tradewinds coming in through the windows, it was FINE. Overall, I highly recommend this house!

We loved this villa. It was even better than the photos and listing. The accommodations were comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed and then some for our family of 4. The grounds were fantastic and we loved seeing the Dutch ruins right on site. The pool and outdoor furniture were perfect for us. We never drove more than 20min to a beach. The check in and out processes were simple and someone met us at our car rental company and led us to the property. We would absolutely stay here again!

The house was spectacular. It is comfortable. We'll appointed, and clean. It is convenient to town and beaches. The view off the patio is fabulous. There are ruins and an old graveyard in the front that added a huge "cool" factor to the house. I could not find any literature to explain the history of the ruins. A headstone in the cemetery dates to 1753!! I recommend this villa!!

Communication and check in process couldn't have been easier. Living area was quite large with plenty of space to sit and relax. Pool was very nice with a great view. 2nd bedroom was small and could only be accessed by going outside. Great location close to Cruz Bay and beaches.

Beautiful clean place in a more quieter end of the island.

Everything is just as in the listing and pictures. Everything clean, working, and as described. This is a great place and great people to rent from. Also, the owners and property manager were extraordinarily responsive. They were easy to get hold of, very quick to respond, and very helpful. Before we left we had questions about car rentals, covid requirements, and ferry reservations - they got back to us right away and saved us a lot of time figuring things out. Katja had great advice on where to get groceries in St Thomas before taking the ferry, what different beaches and hikes were like, parking, when things were more or less crowded and so forth. All accurate and helpful. When we had a question about propane - which turned out to be our misreading of the gage, Katja was back to us within an hour, and then followed up to make sure we had figured it out. Could not have been better.

This property is amazing! Very conveniently located. Property manager, Tori, was extremely helpful and accessible for questions during our stay. We could not have been happier with this property and stay in St. John. We will definitely be back!

The house was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The view and grounds were amazing. The pool was nice as were the rooms and bathrooms! The only negative was that the second bedroom is downstairs and only accessed through the outside.

This villa was perfect for our family of four, Mom & Dad, and two adult children (college kids). The location is ideal for a quick trip into Cruz Bay. The villa was impeccably clean, and it was so nice that the cleaning service (or owners) leave items for you to use (ketchup, mustard, oils, spices, sunscreen, etc.). I imagine these were items left by former guests, and instead of disposing of or taking them, they left these items for the next guest. Very nice and appreciated, considering the HIGH cost of groceries in the USVI. The beds are super comfortable, and the towels and linens are high quality. The common space is very ample, and we played games each evening in the main area of the home. The kitchen has great pots, pans, dishes, glasses, utensils, etc. I cooked more on this trip than I have in two years. We rented a jeep, so we went to a new beach almost every day. If you decide to snorkel/swim in Heart Bay (right below the villa on pleasant trail) please be mindful of the sea urchins. Ouch! The property owners, John and Maura, were always quick to respond, and their property managers were great. Beware, lots of bugs that you cannot see, that bite the hell out of you. Such is the price of this tropical location. However, there is no "itch potion" on the island, so bring your cortisone, or whatever potions you may use to treat insect bites. The best part of Pura Vida is your morning view at the pool. All of the colors of the sky and water before you. The pool was so pleasant and cool. The washer and dryer were amazing, and allow you to travel to this paradise without over-packing. It is also so much fun to walk around the grounds, and look at the history of Pura Vida. We will be back!
