My sister and I took our dad (who is 91) to Maine for a week because it was one of two states he still had not been to. This cottage by the ocean was the perfect spot. The views were fabulous, especially the sunrise, plus it was within driving distance to places we wanted to take day trips to. The owner was always available and so helpful! Just Perfect!

This classic Maine cottage has been lovingly maintained, is clean, uncluttered and has everything you need to be comfortable. There have been updates, such as a stunning bathroom, while still maintaining its original charm and character. There is an eclectic mix of artwork and a welcoming atmosphere that inspires a feeling of calm. There was plenty of room for our family of 4 (kids 10&13). The screened in porch was a rare find and enjoyed daily. We had a couple days of rain so the porch allowed us to still feel “outside” and be able to take in the breathtaking view while we played games, ate or read. The pebbly beach is shared with the house across the road but we had it all to ourselves. High tide was perfect for launching kayaks, taking a quick dip and walking on the big rocks. Mid-low tide was spent beach combing, exploring tide pools and reading and relaxing in a beach chair. It’s a great beach for little ones with magic and wonder all around. We saw many bird species including a bald eagle. It’s within walking distance to Lobster Lane books- a must see- and about a mile from McLoons lobster shack. I honestly can’t say enough positive things about this cottage and location. We’ve been coming to this area of Maine for 25 years and this may be our favorite rental yet. Chris was so kind and easy to communicate with. We look forward to returning next year! Thank you Chris for sharing your beautiful cottage!

My family and I had a wonderful week-long stay at this property. The house itself is full of character and history. It's very comfortable with many places to sit and relax, and the kitchen was spacious and fully stocked with all cooking needs. The bathroom was newly remodeled with a fabulous rain shower. The house was great, but the views of the water were amazing! We could see the water from just about every window. My kids and I loved to beach comb and climb the rocks outside of the cottage when the tide was out. Nearby Rockland offers many cute shops and museums. My kids loved the Children's Museum especially. The location of this property is perfect for those who want privacy and quiet, but also want to have access to activities and shopping, which were all within 15 minutes away. Can't recommend enough!

Our stay here was wonderful. The cottage had everything we needed, and the waterfront views were breathtaking. The host was friendly, welcoming, and she made sure we had a great stay. We didn't want to leave. Overall, an amazing coastal Maine cottage, and we can't wait to come back!

My husband and I enjoyed spending our week in Maine and having the pleasure of lodging at Christine’s lovely, comfortable cottage. The cottage is right on the water. I loved waking up in the morning and enjoying watching the waves lapping, birds flying and kayakers paddling by. We also enjoyed star gazing at night in front of a fire. 20 minutes to Rockland, 20 minutes to Port Clyde, 30 minutes to Camden. Minutes to Owls Head State park and lighthouse. The house is well stocked (kitchen and bath). Christine was very hospitable and made sure we had all that we need during our stay. This was a very nice time of year to visit Maine and we look forward to the next time.

We had a wonderful week staying at this quaint cottage on the coast. It was total Maine! Lobster boats bobbing off the shore, loons swimming, and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. There is so much to do in the area and great places to eat including McLoons Lobster Shack which is close to the cottage. We will definitely be returning next year! The host was terrific!

Just a regular, relaxing mid-coast Maine cottage - the perfect antidote to an otherwise hectic vacation. We were at the tail end of the season so not everything is open or hours are more limited, but that wasn't a major problem for us. Great communication and helpfulness. I would stay again.

Perfect spot to unwind and explore
We had a great one week stay at the cottage. Great spot to unplug. The place was very clean, kitchen well equipped with essentials. Comfy beds. Enjoyed the sunrise from the bedroom, the ospreys and herons hanging out right outside our window, and of course the views of the bay. Perfectly situated to all the attractions we were seeking to check out be it the museums in Rockland, hikes in Camden, or the ferries to Vilnahaven and Monhegan.

A week on Spruce Head Island
We had a wonderful week staying at this quaint cottage on the coast. It was total Maine! Lobster boats bobbing off the shore, loons swimming, and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. There is so much to do in the area and great places to eat including McLoons Lobster Shack which is close to the cottage. We will definitely be returning next year! The host was terrific!

Everything we hoped for- and more!
Whether we were outside or inside, we were comfortable and thrilled by the view. Picnics by the grill, swims at the beach, gatherings around the porch table,... all fun, BUT the best moments for those who sleep in the ocean side bedroom are when watching the sun rise over the ocean each morning.
The very pleasant owners were available if needed. We found tho', that all we needed to provide was food, beverages, and personal items..

Comfortable home in beautiful setting
This Spruce Head Island cottage offers quiet, comfort, and privacy on a spectacular curve of rocky coast overlooking Mussel Ridge Channel. An easy walk into Spruce Head for the harbor ambiance or a bite at McCloon's Lobster Shack. Or, head the other way for more gorgeous views over the Channel and other, intimate coves. The cottage felt a bit make-shift, having been stripped of some of its antiques and dinnerware for easier cleaning during this past Covid season. And we couldn't help but notice a few potential pitfalls for the less agile (ie, the older or toddler set). We enjoyed the light-filled spaces, and cozy evenings by the gas fireplace, and hope to return.

Perfect Vacation
If you are looking for a stunning coastal location to relax and unwind, this is it. This property was very clean and had everything we needed for a weeks stay. The interior is charming and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and there is also a grill. The oceanfront property has it all! We kayaked, paddle boarded, swam, enjoyed the beach and explored the rocks. The owner greeted us upon arrival and checked in before they left the area. We had a perfect vacation!

We had a fabulous time! My kids loved playing on the rocks during low tide and swimming during high tide. We brought our kayaks and had some peaceful paddles around the bay. House is cozy and clean. I would def recommend this place!

A relaxing week on the coast of Maine
What a find this cottage was! Just steps away from the ocean with great access for launching sea kayaks and a private beach to enjoy the sun and search for sea glass and shells. I especially liked the screened in porch! I enjoyed a beautiful sunrise over the ocean each morning while having my coffee and we had friends over to play cards and games in the evening while being protected from mosquitoes. The beds were really clean and comfortable and the gas grill worked well for cookouts. There is no cable or internet so do your research on the area before your visit. I would definitely recommend this cottage for anyone wanting to get away for a relaxing week!

Great spot
This was a wonderful vacation for me and my boys! The location is absolutely perfect--very secluded but close to everything you want to do. The beach next door was the perfect spot for us to spend our afternoons hunting for sea glass, checking out the shells, and dipping our feet in the water. I'm sure you could launch a kayak from the beach as well but my kids weren't that adventurous :(
The house is definitely rustic--kind of reminded me of my great-grandmother's house from 30 years ago. But it is well maintained and you can see the owners have been doing some upgrades as needed. There are nice new windows, the kitchen sink has a fairly fancy new faucet, and the kitchen has all of the plates, utensils, glasses, mugs, knives, and serving pieces you could ask for. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were all in great shape, as were the bath towels.
All in all, this is a great house in a fantastic location, and you really can't beat it for the price. We would definitely stay here again!!
