Beautiful setting and lovely house! We thoroughly enjoyed being so immersed in nature.

The cabin is in the middle of the forest! Absolutely stunning and beautiful! The walks to the water fall was amazing and the forest really is a magical place!

The location was in a forest setting with no internet reception which was ideal to disconnect from the busy city life. The manager, Sue was awesome.

The lodge does require a bit of maintenance. It would be great if towels could be replaced.

The place was perfect for us. A quiet little retreat where we could disconnect from the world. The house was a great size for our group of four adults and two kids. Beautiful walks around the area. Great staff and adequately stocked kitchen. Loved the weekend. Will definitely be coming back.

a beautiful place! waterfalls and cloud capped mountains surround this beautiful cabin on the edge of a stream. it’s such a stunning place with a very cosy/homey vibe in amongst everything

only problem we had was the stove didn’t seem to heat up properly so it took a while to cook but otherwise this place is perfect.

Beautiful setting, magnificent views and a quaint cottage with all the necessary amenities. The cottage runs on gas and solar so no worries about load shedding.

Rockwood Lodge is the perfect no-phone-reception hideaway from the city. We stayed in the Rockwood Forest Lodge, which is adorable, clean, well-maintained and with ample kitchen amenities for self-catering. Sue, the host, was very responsive with all the questions and assistance. The cleaning staff Jabu and Zama accommodated our request and came to work on New Year’s Day which was highly appreciated. The river running under the property creates a beautiful soundscape surrounding the lodge. There are lots of walking, trail / mountain biking trails easily accessible from the lodge. There’s also a dam with canoe that you can swim in, but that’s about 30-45min walk from the lodge.

The water pressure was low for the bathtubs so we couldn’t really shower there. There is only 1 shower for 6 guests, so the wait-time is quite long.
