there’s no convenience store close in 20 miles

Situated right at the water the view was very nice. We were even lucky enough to have seen a humpback breaching from the restaurant.

The choice of restaurants in walking distance is very limited and the food at that beach restaurant not very good.

Well, hotel heat/AC unit didn’t produce any heat…it was chilly at night and I froze for 3 out the 7 nights, the dock was rubbing against a pillar and all you heard all night was the grinding of the dock rubbing against the pillar. there was no mini fridge to store anything in….. location was a little farther then I expected

Diving club is very good. Gael and his wife are the best. They love what they do and this has no price tag.

A bit far from the city and no supermarket around. The boutique in the hotel doesn't have much and the restaurant closes too early

we wanted to be out of the city so this location was perfect. it is right next to the semi truck ferry but we did not hear any of this noise in our room unless we opened the windows.

It’s the last hotel before Balandra. You can rent a kayak from the hotel and paddle to the wonderful beach. Two hours one way. Bed was very comfortable, shower perfect. Cantamar also organizes, with departures from the hotel, swimming with whale-shark, tour of Isla Spirito Santo and so on.

The hotel is located behind the port, so as a location it is not really the best. Rooms large but of poor quality, with small bathrooms and old showers. It is far from everything except the beaches. If you need to buy anything there are no stores nearby. There should be a fridge in the room so you can at least keep water in it... but instead there is nothing. In short, a hotel to choose only if you do diving activities since the hotel also runs a diving center. I had chosen it for this reason.....but the quality of the diving center was poor to say the least.

I stayed in Hotel Cantamar in July 2022 and got bitten by BED BUGS! Please don’t stay at this hotel. My holiday in beautiful La Paz was completely ruined. If something goes wrong there is no one who could help you - the receptionists have no power to make decisions and the hotel manager called Pedro doesn’t care. Pedro is so at the top of the food chain that the staff prefer to leave the customers upset than push him to resolve the issues. :( I don’t blame the staff, I blame the management. I was left alone to run around the complex at night to find help when I found the bugs in my room. The reception was closed and there was no emergency number to call to. The situation was resolved purely by actions of kind individuals - nothing to do with the hotel’s processes. As I had an early tour to attend after the night of horror I asked that no one would to enter my original room to avoid anymore damage to be done. Anyway when I came back I found out my room had been fumigated without my permission with all my stuff out there including toothbrush, make up brushes and food! I had to seek medical help twice to treat the bites. The second time at the doctor’s consultation I was nearly sent to the hospital as I was intoxicated by the bites. Luckily I had found the bug that the doctor knew which antibiotics he had to prescribe me. I will still need to do some exams after finishing the antibiotics. The bites also caused me a lot of discomfort and pain due to the inflammation.. The hotel did pay me once the transportation to the consultation but the manager refused to understand the seriousness of my condition as he offered to buy me some itch relief… Lol. Additionally I wasted so much time and energy by making sure all my stuff were free from bugs by taking the clothes to the dryer or ironing them. After that moving and reorganising everything. Also I constantly had to beg the receptionist that he could ask the manager to reply my emails.

this hotel was amazing and only 10 mins drive to Bahia balandra (which is the main reason we came to La paz). we enjoyed our two night stay here so much that booked another two nights. also hiring kayaks here. the staff were amazing, attending to every request we had and spoke amazing English for us foreigners.

it’s annoying that there is no shops in the area so you can only buy food and drink from their restaurant (although their food is quite nice) you can only eat and drink what they have. not many taxis or Uber will collect you from here if you wanted to go out to town

The bed was very hard.

Considering I wanted to be close to Balandra, this was the best option for the money. Staff was very personable. having a private beach was a big plus.
