It is an elegant old hotel, and has been updated and kept up very nicely. Front desk staff were fantastic - and their recommendations were perfect. Breakfast was great.

There was a ledge at the entry to our room that I tripped on and fell. A warning would have been nice, especially after a long day of traveling.

Everything was perfect.

Service was exceptional. The room felt like a five star hotel. The atmosphere made you feel important, a level of service difficult to find in a hotel in this day and age. The decor was original and unique.

A wonderfully comfortable hotel with lovely friendly staff. So clean, and the rooms smell fresh.... a small detail that often is missing in many hotels. The furnishings suit the period of the hotel, which by today's style may appear unfashionable, but it adds to the comfortable, warm, welcoming atmosphere . Excellent breakfast with a wide range of fresh produce, loved the waffles! Tea, coffee and cake are available for everyone all day. I definitely would recommend this hotel.

The Royal is situated in a beautiful building very close to the train station and the main connection point for buses and trams. The interior decoration is fantastic, the very image of a hotel. Staff is great: very attentive, friendly and helpful. The room was nice with a comfortable bed and temperature and a clean bathroom.

The door had a kind of gap at the bottom which transferred some noise from the hallway but since the other guests were quiet, this was not a problem.

Staff where great. Hotel was spotless and breakfast was lovely.

Location is some distance from Lisberg amusement park, which is something people may want to consider if that’s their reason for visiting the city at Christmas.
