the cleanliness. I saw 5 stars on the B&B on this app. that was one of the biggest things why I chose the place. the place got 9.5 at cleanliness however I don’t think the place deserves 9.5 out of 10 at cleanliness. also I arrived there at 3:15 and the place wasn’t ready even though check in time was 3. I had to wait till when it’s ready. It was only 15mins or so but I was disappointed. then there was the owners visiter there. the floor I stayed was half basement, so the footsteps were so big. I’d never experienced that kind of not clean enough noisy B&B before this experience. so in England I guess B&B standers are not so high based on the mark they got. I’m very confused by the marks they got. I took some pictures of the disappointment. I’m not sure if it’s okay to share the photos. so I’ll just keep them. if you want me to share them, let me know.

Well equipped, comfortable apartment within easy walking distance of central Cheltenham. Hugh & Jilly had thought of everything and were charming hosts, including providing a delicious breakfast!

The hosts were very attentive and welcoming. Our apartment was well furnished and comfortable throughout and breakfast was excellent. Well located in walking distance of the town in a very pleasant residential area. I would definitely visit again

A minor thing for us and didn’t bother us too much but there is no lock from main area to apartment but there is a lock on the main guest bedroom

It was all excellent. A very friendly welcome, the accommodation is very spacious and exceeded what I expected from the pictures. Delicious breakfast and very good location for town. I would highly recommend Laurel House.

Excellent location - only a 10 minute walk into town. Parking on site. Room was very spacious, the bed was so comfortable and the en-suite modern and spotlessly clean. Hosts were fantastic and very friendly . A wonderful choice of breakfast with a freshly cooked full English - what better way to start your Sunday!

We were able to park our vehicle and check-in early (as requested) in order to attend the Literary Festival. Payment was taken, access keys given out and then we were shown the facilities available. It consisted of (at a lower level) 2xbeds, lounge and kitchen apartment with access to a small garden space (if required).

If an establishment is offering a kitchen for guest use, it has to be clean/spotless. For example the tea, coffee were not covered in a jar, sugar was hard . Needs attention to detail.

Hugh and Jillie were excellent hosts, they couldn't do enough for us. Hugh even gave us a lift into town. Everywhere was spotless, really lovely accommodation, comfortable and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and loved Hugh and Jillie's personal touch.

This was our first stay at Laurel House and we will definitely be back. The hosts were friendly and made us feel really welcome. The apartment was clean, comfortable and spacious and had everything we needed. The breakfast was generous and really tasty. Excellent location too.

Lovely house clean & well cared for - very nice spacious rooms and excellent breakfast. Mrs. Barton was very kind and friendly but did not like the interactions with Mr. Barton.

We didn’t like there was no lock on the door and no privacy. The door was left open on numerous occasions and when it was closed there was no knock on door to respect our privacy. Didn’t like keys not be handed over and removed from our room before we had a “lesson” in how to open a front door!! We didn’t feel safe as hadn’t met Mrs. Barton when we arrived or when we got back after our evening out and the door to our room was opened. If you don’t mind strangers just walking into where you’re staying and having NO privacy then this is the place for you. Not for us though!

Slightly noisy when lot of people upstairs

The location was perfect for us as we were attending a function just outside Cheltenham. The owners were really flexible and communication was brilliant. The bed was fabulous and having the kitchen to make a snack was a boon. Breakfast was outstanding - perfect eggs, fresh fruit - and delivered with great good humour by Hugh.

The sofa in the sitting room is terribly uncomfortable. However, it still beats watching TV from bed, which we can't bear.

Food outstanding, owners very engaging. Very good with children. Good location.

Delightful, generous, and helpful hosts. Exclusive use of the complete basement of a large Victorian house, close to the city centre. Off-street parking (the hosts put their cars on the road). Lovely garden. Excellent breakfast. Comfy bed. Very spacious rooms, including a kitchen for self-catering if needed. Flat screen TVs in living room and bedroom. Well equipped, with thoughtful touches. We thought it very good value for money, and would have paid more.
