We enjoyed our time at the Davis House; it was clean, charming and has many amenities.

It was a wonderful choice to stay at this house. We all had a wonderful time, it was very warm and homey for our gathering. Location was perfect and neighbor hood was beautiful.

My senior citizen cousins and I stayed at the Davis house for three nights. It was LOVELY! The architecture, furnishings and amenities were even nicer than listed in the ad. The price was great, as well. William was very communicative and even left us a couple of welcome gifts. Best VRBO stay EVER! Thank you for sharing your home.

This property was a delight from beginning to end. It is way bigger than it looks in the pics, the beds are SO comfortable, and it is in a beautiful neighborhood walkable to a little downtown area. The kids loved exploring the beautiful yard. The kitchen was stocked like someone actually lives and cooks there, none of the sparse beat up equipment you often find in other rentals. My only caution is to make sure everyone in your party is steady on their feet. The stairs are quite steep and narrow, in the way that antique stairs are. We would love to stay again when in the area!

Second time with William and this beautiful home. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

We had an outstanding stay at the Davis House while celebrating a family wedding. William is a very kind and accommodating host! We had the pleasure to meet and speak with him on our first night there. The house itself is absolutely beautiful and feels like a museum. We had fun exploring each room. The gardens are incredibly lovely and the porch swing was so fun! The neighborhood is charming. There is a nice park two blocks away which we used to throw the football around. Easy walk to downtown too. We had absolutely no complaints and would very gladly book this house again in the future! The driveway is indeed a bit tricky but just go very very slow while backing out. Easy check-in and check-out with the house key. Don’t hesitate to book this historic property!

This was by far the nicest place we've ever stayed. The owner has obviously put a lot of love and thought into this house. He's very helpful and responsive.
We especially loved the kitchen and the master bathroom. There are a lot of quiet places to relax and hang out. The front porch and the grounds are beautiful.
It's a very nice, quiet neighborhood, too.

I've always wanted to experience a real Victorian home. This was it. Just beautiful. I loved all the rooms and the modern features did not distract from the antique feel. The only problem was backing out of the drive way. The bushes, although beautiful, were a real pain to avoid. Perhaps trimming them to be even with the driveway would be a good idea.

William was a class act host from start to finish. My wife and I booked this as a place to stay after our wedding since it was close to the venue and William surprised us with a gift basket, a bottle of wine and a hand written note congratulating us. From start to finish William was communicative and made sure that all of our needs were met and went beyond to provide us such exceptional service. We will definitely stay here again when we need a place to stay in Glen Ellyn. I couldn’t imagine a better experience. Such a clean and beautiful house in a great and safe neighborhood! Pictures don’t do justice for how great this house/property is!

We were a family of 7 adults in town for a family gathering. The location was close to Glen Ellyn and we enjoyed walking downtown to eat at the many restaurants. This is definitely a historic home with many old world charms yet still had many modern amenities mixed in. It was fun to look around at all the eclectic decorations and treasures. Might not be the best choice for families with exploring toddlers. Everything was clean and the kitchen had many amenities. Has a large table in the kitchen for meals and conversation. It has a large outdoor deck but weather was not conducive for us to use it. It was dog friendly and one of the major reasons we chose it. The extensive gardens were just starting to bloom and will be very inviting in the summer and fall. It was perfect for our circumstances.

Thoroughly enjoyed staying in this unique and beautiful home--the antiques, artwork, and luxurious items such as the Lacanche Range and the piano made for an unforgettable experience. The host was helpful and kind. Highly recommend this property!

We are third time guests at the Davis House and the home grows even better with each stay. From the well-appointed kitchen, walking distance to Glen Ellyn's charming town center, proximity to the trains into Chicago, the Davis House is a delightful home away from home. William's hospitality is an added gift!

The Davis House is absolutely amazing! We booked this house for our recent trip up to Illinois from Arizona, and we wanted something that was amazing. To say The Davis House is amazing is like saying the sun is bright. Actually, it’s not just amazing, it’s a must-see!
We were expecting a comfortable place to live for a week while visiting family. What we got was so much more. It is a traditional historic house, built a long time ago and renovated and decorated with serious skill. It is warm and friendly, and I need to tell you this… you will need time to explore, observe, and enjoy all that is available with this amazing home!
The deco is amazing! Everywhere you look, you have to take a minute to enjoy it. The back patio is PERFECT! Allowing you to be a great distance from the quiet street and to enjoy your own special space away from it all.
Inside, you get treated with amazing wall art that literally takes you around the world. There are so many places to sit, enjoy your morning coffee, and enjoy the ambience of the room. A library room, rooms with windows everywhere, both upstairs and downstairs. There are so many places to enjoy in this wonderful house. Again, you cannot book this place for a few days. You need AT LEAST a week, probably two to fully enjoy it.
Our favorite places were the upstairs room off of the master bedroom, CERTAINLY the magnificent front porch, and the kitchen! OH MY GOD that kitchen!! I am a tech guy that works on technology 24/7, and I did not hardly have an urge to setup my gear and go to work. I just couldn’t! The place was so welcoming and comfortable! I just spent my time wandering around and taking it all in!
The kitchen has an incredible stove, an amazing in-wall cabinet for dinnerware and other items, LIGHTED! And so well done! The kitchen sink and stove has plumbing features you will wish you had at home. All with a room with an array of windows that blast the room with sunlight. It was a blessing of experience!
The bathroom off of the upstairs bedroom. The shower is incredible, with multiple shower head options and a lot of room to just be happy getting clean. The separate tub and the plumbing fixtures supporting it are something out of Better Homes and Garden. And the sink? And the skylight pane in the room? WOW!
The front yard is like a court yard, and you could spend all day exploring it..
And if you get a chance, DEFINITELY check out the neighborhood! Enjoy! We sure did. And we will again. Thanks!

This is a warm and comfortable home with a kitchen that is truly the heart of the house. We had 8 people and the table accommodated us all. The owner decorated it beautifully for Christmas. The piano filled the house with music for great evenings and the fireplace was perfect. Our family created many great memories here for Christmas. Beds were comfortable. Sleeping our group of 8 required using a pull-out couch, which was fine. The location is quiet and not far from lovely Glen Ellyn town. William was thoughtful and made sure we were comfortable during a particularly bad winter storm.
Great stay! Beautiful home!

We had a great time. There is an outlet in the smallest bedroom that doesn't work. (the one on the outside wall) It would be helpful to mark this, since it is the one most likely to be used for charging a cellphone.

This lovely historic home was perfect for my husband and I and our 2 dogs. The house was beautiful but very comfortable and very well equipped for people and pets! The neighborhood was fantastic for walking and we were within walking distance of downtown Glen Ellyn. As previous Glen Ellyn residents (for 20 years) it fit our needs perfectly. The month flew by and we hated to leave!

This property was in a great location. Glen Ellen is a wonderful town, with plenty of amenities. The house, although clean, looks nothing like the pictures. Aged Victorian is the description that could be used. Also, the driveway is a challenge, with overgrown shrubs inhibiting your view and your vehicles.

Wonderful to return to the town we lived in for 50 years. Connected with friends and enjoyed sitting on the porch and reminiscing.

Beautiful and comfortable
Beautiful and comfortable home. We especially enjoyed the sitting rooms in the turret and hanging out on the front porch. The owner was accommodating with our cats and when we had a schedule change with our arrival. Enjoyed the area too, just a short walk to the downtown although it is currently under construction.

Great space for the family
We were in town for a wedding and this house served our purpose well. Only issue was no WiFi or TV service which would have been a major issue if we weren’t so busy with events outside the property. Still recommend

Perfect for a birthday weekend
Five of us stayed overnight at the house, and 5 additional joined us one evening for a birthday dinner which we catered in. The house, as per the description, is vintage with vintage furnishings and ornamentation. Appliances and heating/cooling are updated and work well. We returned to Glen Ellyn for this weekend (after living there for 23 years and moving away 2 years ago. It was great to be back. William was a very good host—helpful without being intrusive. We really enjoyed our stay.

Hidden gem
This historic house has definite Anne of Green Gables (or Secret Garden) vibes. The neighborhood is quiet, the garden lovely, and the house full of charm. The master bath has a fantastic tub and shower, and the baby grand piano fills the house with music.

We were delighted to spend a few days in the Davis House and enjoy it's relaxing and elegant setting. The house was very clean and everything we could need was provided. The house was the perfect size for our family of four plus one other family member. We were happy to take advantage of the additional bed tucked away in the upstairs turret. Though it's located in the master bedroom, there was enough separation that it provided ample privacy for my younger child to sleep through the night. The large kitchen table provided a wonderful gathering space. There neighborhood is quiet at night and felt very safe. A small park down the street provided a great space for kids to run around. We will absolutely stay here again if in the area!

Great Location and Full of Charm!
This property is full of charm and in a wonderful location. Minutes to downtown Glen Ellyn and Wheaton. A block from a neighborhood park for those traveling with kids. Loved the added gesture of a welcome card complete with chocolates and a bottle of wine.
Some of the touches in the home are wonderful, including the rain shower head in the master bath. There is a wood burning fire place at the property, but there was no stock of wood available at the property so we had to purchase personally. The house was not super clean, which was disappointing. There was white dog hair all over the living room carpet and couches that got all over our clothes. There was a vacuum that I used in an effort to address, but that did not make much of an impact. The kitchen is in desperate need of organization - utensils were everywhere and many in the drawers were dirty, some of the food in the cabinets was expired, etc.
Overall a great experience that could only be improved with some minor changes!

We enjoyed our long weekend stay in this historic home while visiting family in Glen Ellyn. The location was convenient to the charming downtown and other local sights and activities. We particularly loved the turret room, the full-of-character kitchen table, and the large Master bath shower.
