Exellent, excellent, excellent! location, staff and accommodation! Stay here every year and the whole experience from arriving in the entrance from the bustling Street to stepping into the hotel is truly 1st class. Lovely smiles from all the staff. The breakfast is fantastic with a huge selection to choose from. Plenty of staff in all areas of the hotel. Room was perfect and very well serviced by housekeeping. Great location for Central Kolkata so didn't need taxis. We needed an early check in as we had been travelling 24 hours and our room was made available. Upon leaving at 0400 a takeaway light breakfast was supplied. The hotel spa is a wonderful service and definitely worth using. Looking forward to our return visit!

The staff are ready to help and attentive at all times. They cleaned my room twice every day and dinner in my room was first class. This is a heritage hotel so the plumbing is of an age and the bath water tap came away but the staff replaced it. The staff were always ready to help and very well trained. The pool is a bonus for residents.

I was shuffled to 3 different rooms in the first 2 nights. The hotel was full and despite paying for a Premier double room I was shown corner bedrooms with an exhaust noise humming thru the wall when trying to sleep. Finally I did have a room with a balcony but it was not pool facing never rec'd any sun and was so cold at night I needed an extra blanket and a heater. Before my arrival I was in touch with the hotel who could not find this reservation but they did find it when I arrived. Because the hotel was so full breakfast was sometimes difficult and took longer than usual but the staff at all times do their very best to assist

The staff was phenomenal, the included breakfast was yummy with food I have not tried in my life, the Thai restaurant was delicious. The service was at a level that I have not experienced before, including at some of the “best” hotels in the US. The room had everything we needed for our 4 night stay. Even the laundry service was over the top. Our day guides told us we were in the perfect part of town and we went on several walks in nearby parks. It’s really really quiet once you leave the street. After being in India for several weeks the Oberoi was a vacation within an adventure. The business center worked very well for those needing to do business at any time.

Nothing but lovely things to say about this hotel and the staff. We arrived around midnight, greeted with a drink, and taken straight to the room with all check-in handled via an iPad at the door. Efficient and personable staff were a godsend after a long journey. The hotel has a lovely old-school colonial feel with a lovely interior to match the character of the building. The rooms were equally nice, older for sure but appointed nicely, and some of the most comfortable beds and linens for the entire trip. The buffet breakfast was exceptional and included in the room cost, normally I'd nix the breakfast buffet but it's particularly good here with an extensive selection and great staff who are all over you to make sure you have everything you need. The location is magnificent, right next to the markets and tonnes to see and do accessible just by walking the neighborhood. Above all else though the staff made this stay memorable and their work during our stay would serve as a master class in customer service. Front desk staff remembered guest names, the concierge was on point with organizing transport and we had some lovely experiences with the front door and security staff as we entered and left the hotel each day. (Ask them where to eat:)) There was a small issue with our room at one point and we had a very early morning interruption. Rather than it being a negative the Duty Manager, Vishwas, managed the situation beautifully and left us both with a very, very good impression of the hotel. Unfortunately, this was my partner's 1st trip to India and their first hotel experience in India. After our stay at the Oberoi she judged all other hotels very harshly :) Thank you to all the staff at Oberoi Grand. It was a fabulous stay and you've ensured we'll be seeking Oberoi properties wherever we go.

Very attentive staff. Fantastic breakfast. Kindly let us leave a bag at concierge for our parent who was coming to stay a week later. Lovely pool and garden area, with changing facilities.

We booked a non-smoking room but there was a strong smell of smoke - the staff were very nice and tried to help with air fresherners and a de-humidifyer, but they didn't really help. We were then moved into a different room after our 2nd night which was much better.

Kolkata is a city of beautiful chaos, the Oberoi Grand is a luxury oasis. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed the courtesy, professionalism and friendliness of all the staff. From the gentleman at the gate and front door to the waitstaff and cleaners. The room was incredibly comfortable and clean and kept well supplied. Breakfast was excellent especially the local selection, and very good masala chai. The front desk checked me in and out with ease. I recommend this hotel without any hesitation. Hope to return one day.
