Beautiful location. We got the Marina view room. The lunch we ordered in the room was good. Nice and polite staff.

The building as such could have been maintained better although there is nothing that screamed for attention. For e.g. the balcony floor wasnt the cleanest and chairss were plastic andnot super clean.

the property and location is nice with good potential to excel; but the facilities are poorly managed

we booked palace suite and the mosquitos were scourging in the rooms. we had to literally escape from the bites and had to change room at the middle of night with our toddler. It was such a horrendous experience and for the money paid it is useless and not recommended, especially if one is for a leisure trip with family and kids. And the dust part if someone has allergy, better avoid this property or will end up wheezing (which I had to)

The dinner at the restaurant was a buffet for both nights we stayed in. The selection for the buffet was nearly the same on both days. I would have expected a better selection at least an ala-carte option for the price point.

The old world charm of the property, the history, the location, the garden all gave us very pleasant experience.

The bathroom is old but they were clean

The buildings and views beautiful, as is the location. One or two staff members went above and beyond to make my stay as nice as possible. The history of the building is important and it is nice to stay somewhere that has been significant. The food was fine.

The WiFi was disastrous and this had a big negative impact on my work during the stay. If I had come for just relaxation, then maybe it would be OK, but I had come for work. My room was only superficially clean - for example there was thick dust on wall lights and mirrors. However, bedding seemed to be clean. Apart from the two staff members who tried hard to make me welcome, all of the others were not very well trained in hospitality. For example staff in the bar just enjoyed chatting together and did not check on customers. I needed a hairdryer (which was not in the room) and asked housekeeping, but it never arrived, even though they promised to bring it. In general, staff looked shocked and confused when asked about anything, and did not seem used to working in hospitality. I heard that these problems are due to the hotel being a government-run premises, rather than run as a proper business. It's a shame as the location and historic buildings are really lovely.

The quality of the room was super basic and didnt reach expectation at all. I looked for a room with tub on booking and the room had the smallest bathroom with no tub ofcourse. The lights in th room were all white, and the furniture was of really low quality and taste. The only thing good about this property is the surroundings. breakfast was okay but the room was absolutely not what i expected out of a heritage building, No value for money
