Hotel Lario

We were very happy with the hotel’s location, as we specifically wanted to stay in this part of Lake Como. We were pleasantly surprised by how clean the hotel was (we have some experience with hotels in Italy). The towels were changed and the room was cleaned every day. Our room was in the attic, which gave us a nice view of the lake, although it did mean we needed to use the air conditioning as the room could get quite warm. The furniture is not modern, but we actually liked that—it gave the hotel a certain charm. The room had a TV, a small fridge and a kettle, which was more than enough for our needs. The hotel also has a lovely garden where we enjoyed spending the evenings with a drink. Parking is available in a garage, but it needs to be reserved in advance and costs €15 per day. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they really made an effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Overall, I think the price was very reasonable for what you get.

We booked the stay with breakfast included, which was fine. We were just a little surprised that there wasn’t choice of vegetables at breakfast, as this is something we would normally expect as a standard option. That said, it wasn’t a major issue for us.

The room and bed were very spacious, and the views were beautiful. The pool area looked great, though we didn't get a chance to use it. The location is walkable to local bus stops (and about a 20-minute walk to the ferry), as well as nearby restaurants. However, I would strongly recommend renting a car to properly explore the area, especially since the hotel offers a large parking garage.

The room, and especially the bathroom, felt a bit outdated given the price paid. The breakfast was adequate, but again, simpler than expected for the nightly rate. On top of that, when we requested an iron for our clothes, it was filthy—and we were told/shown that all available irons were in the same condition. If you are sensitive to light when sleeping, keep in mind there is a bright green LED directly above the bed that we could not turn off.

Very clean property and nice lake view from the property. Staffs are so friendly and helpful.

Parking facilities should be free for visitors. And it seems to be little expensive.
