it was a bed to sleep in

it smelt , the room had cobwebs on the walls , the carpet was bare , the window was mouldy, the bathroom door handle came off in my hand . the room was musty. , shower broke .

The bed and location

We were in room number 1 and there was a lot of noise coming from outside, it made it difficult to sleep. It was constant, even during the night. The taps in the bathroom were separate, so it was hard to wash your face as the hot water was too hot and cold water too cold.

It’s a beautiful building.

No baths. The room needs to be updated e.g heating and the carpet needs to be replaced with a thicker stronger newer carpet.

The man who seemed to be the only person I saw from last night to check out next morning. He was very nice but it's obvious he's struggling.

The hotel seems to be a one man run business. Possibly passed down family route. No hot water in the morning. For £79.00 I would have expected breakfast at least even if dinner was not provided. The rooms could have been cleaner and more up-to-date. I feel they are struggling financially and revamping is hard in these times. They would need to upgrade to get more custom. I would not return unless they upgraded. Lovely guy at reception but he needs help. I was left 45 minutes as he had to pop out and left a back in 5 minutes sign. No phone in my room so could not get help with the no hot water situation in my room. Taxi driver said to stick to known names. I think I will have to do so in future.
