The room was really large—a suite, actually—and we could not believe we could get a room for a reasonable price inside the Cite walls! We were surprised at the late checkin time, but the instructions for getting inside to drop off our luggage ahead of time worked well, and the Cite is a place you can easily spend time, so this was no problem for us. AND we were able to park our motorcycle for free over night (and in a separate location, for free during the day)! We could not have asked for better!

The location was perfect and the room was huge for one person. I loved the views, the privacy, and the room was comfortable. Vincent and his team are excellent hosts and I felt well taken care of. The restaurant on the main floor is incredible! First great meal I’ve had in France this trip. It was almost too much to eat. Thank you so much, my friends!

It is not even a negative. At first, I was concerned that the bathroom was equipped with a tub and shower hose and not a shower stall, however, the seat in the tub made bathing, very easy and convenient. So while I hate that style in other places, this one was great. It would be difficult for someone with mobility issues, but this isn’t the right place for someone with limitations anyways (lots of stairs).

It's within the old city of Carcassonne, a fabulous medieval fortress town. It has a superb restaurant below - a bit pricey, but excellent cuisine. The room has an old rustic feel to it, but the bathroom is nice.

Stunning old building, and an unexpectedly really big room with amazing views of the cathedral. Also unexpected and very much appreciated were the teabags/coffee/kettle and a fridge. Extremely well situated yet quiet. Friendly staff were so busy yet nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic value as well. The shower is a handheld arrangement within a corner bath, which didn't bother us at all, but may be important for some guests .Plenty of hot water. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it was very attractive, much nicer than the photos, I thought. And definitely popular.

Brilliant location within the Cite

The location is absolutely amazing. It is right inside the walled city. It is not in the busiest part, which is nice. The city is tiny, anyway, so it is close to everything. The room is right above the restaurant, and for a lover of period novels, it felt like travelling back in time and imagining we were staying in a room at the road tavern. The room was comfortable, as was the bathroom. They provide coffee and tea, as they don't serve breakfast. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was one of the best meals we had on our trip and not expensive. We were well received, shown how to access our room during restaurant hours and after-hour. We were allowed to leave our luggage there after check-out for more sight-seeing until it was time to leave for the train station. They even refilled our water bottles with the coldest, most delicious water on a hot day. Everything was perfect. Would do it all over again. Highly recommend.
