Einrichtung schon etwas runter gekommen

the view was amazing but on a very noisy main road which I didn't realise when I booked

The room allowed me to select 2 single beds ono booking, and the hotel confirmed in a message that they would do that, but we arrived in to a room that was only 1 double bed which was very disappointing given they had messaged to confirm they would give us 2 single beds. The room was very small and basic and the windows/doors very difficult to open due to being old and weathered.

Noise of road between hotel and lake. Floor damaged. Airco makes very much noise.

Arona is a nice town, so in overall I don't regret getting there. Also, the breakfast in the hotel was splendid, with probably over 50 kinds of pastries (but it's mainly a sweet breakfast).

I don't understand how this hotel can have 4 stars. If it were 2 stars, then my opinion would be adequate to that. However, this place doesn't fulfills any of 4 stars requirements. It's old and worn out, my room was very small and not comfortable at all (to put the coat on the rack was almost an equilibrist activity), same goes for the bathroom. Not sure if this room is intended for 2 persons: I hope not, as I cannot imagine 2 persons coexisting in this small space. The elevator was not working most of the time (which wasn't much of an issue for me, as I prefer to use the stairs, but you've been warned). The main thing: no, the hotel is not on the lakeshore, as one may think. It's actually by the main road (or even 2) and your balcony is directly over the passing cars. You have the view over the lake, but bear in mind it's quite a noisy location. Also, I had to check-out very early, before sunrise and there was absolutely no lightning in the parking, I almost broke my leg getting to the car.
