Very nice pub, breakfast was very good quality, good location.
The shower was pretty poor, not really part of our stay but dinner service was a bit of a shambles and the food for dinner was really not very good - surprising when breakfast was so good. We were charged twice but they immediately put that right so hats off to them for that.

Unfortunately we arrived on a Sunday. Our room at 4pm was not ready the staff were apologetic and offered complimentary drinks and food.
Rugby crowd
Quiz night and loud music meant no sleep.
The shower pressure is non existent and too cold.

All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Brilliant.

There is some noise from the bar below in the bedrooms. Luckily I fall asleep easily.
The bar restaurant is very noisy. BIG screens, BIG volume. Not everyone wants to see rugby at conversation stopping volume.
Dinner tasted too much of Bisto gravy, and the telly was deafening. Really happy with breakfast.
The shower wasn’t very good. Breakfast starts at 8, which is not ideal if you’re planning a long day outdoors. They do offer a takeaway breakfast for early risers, though.

Nice location in the centre of Aviemore. Friendly helpful staff. Lively pub attached.
It can be a bit noisy if you fancy an early night and the pub is in full swing but that's a minor thing.

The breakfast was good,but waitress could do with some training,husband ordered cornflakes got the cooked breakfast first,had to ask for our tea,coffee & orange juice as she never came with it,she was not very welcoming .

Cosy room above the pub, with a nice spectate entrance so you don’t have to walk through the bar area when coming and going. Great location in Aviemore, comfortable bed

Location was excellent for visiting Aviemore. Room was comfortable and good value for money. We were asked if we wanted to book for dinner when we arrived and just as well we did as the restaurant was very busy and popular. Fresh cooked breakfast was lovely. Car parking very convenient.

The Balavoulin is in a great location in the town and a good base to visit the Loch Ness area as well as the nearby lochs and mountains. The staff, and particularly the young girl serving breakfast, were excellent and friendly throughout the stay.
The rooms are fairly noisy and you can hear all the chatter from the bar below and even from the street during the night.

Amazing place to stay in Aviemore! Much better than we expected. The breakfast was the best ever, delicious cappuccino, local smoked salmon and eggs, fresh fruit and yogurt etc. Room comfortable and friendly staff

bathroom was a bit dirty, music in the restaurant a bit too noisy. being overnight guests for 2 nights we couldn’t dine in (just snacks) the second night due to lack of capacity of the kitchen although there were free tables available

The Breakfast was excellent.
We needed to get up early in the morning but the pounding music from downstairs meant we could not get a good nights sleep.

A fantastic stay over the busy Easter weekend. Staff were very friendly and welcoming making checking in and out a breeze. Food was great, as were the pints.
Rooms are comfortable, clean and freshly painted. Bathrooms all brand new tiling too! An amazing place to stay if you don’t want to be inundated with too many tourists but want to be right in the heart of Aviemore. Will definitely be back if we’re ever up in the highlands.

The property was lovely, the staff where great and great location
The walls were thin and when the heating kicked in in the mornings it work me up early so didn’t get great sleep. Its a shame cause really lovely staff and great location!
