Above all else the location is FANTASTIC. It is in the heart of Asheville and an easy walk to just about everything.. The Condo's Kitchen was very well equiped with anything you can think of.. The master Bedroom and Bath were very roomy. Hanging up clothes is challenging since the Master closet is locked. Besides that, it was a very comfortable living space for the 4 of us. Close Parking is limited and they fill up fast. Would I stay there again? ABSOLUTELY!!

My wife and I took out daughter,son in law and grandson to experience the magic of Asheville during the Christmas holiday season. We were blown away by this amazing place in the heart of Asheville. We will definitely book here again!

My sister and I stayed at this property for a first-time visit to Asheville. The location is very convenient and we were able to walk to many locations and to quickly drive to other attractions. Be aware that (like many cities) Asheville is experiencing a homelessness problem downtown. There are also street musicians with loud sound systems who may treat you to a Led Zeppelin concert into the night. As far as the property goes, it is showing its age -- overall style, evidence of water damage in the MBR bath and on the LR ceiling. It lacks good sound-proofing between the units (smaller bedroom). There was also a persistent dank smell in the hallway. With a thorough re-do, it would be a great unit for a vacation visit. Given the price, there may be other nearby properties that are newer or in better shape . . . but probably not downtown.

The property was great! Spacious apartment with view if the park in the downtown area. There is a horid smell in the hallway. But inside apartment is fresh and clean. Cute down stairs shops n food.

The place was great and the property was in a great location that was in walking distance for everything I was looking for. The only negative was each time I left to go somewhere, there was a terrible smell coming from the nearby properties down the hallway. It smelled like a dead rodent or dirty diapers that had been left out. Other than that, the actual property that was reserved was great.

We enjoyed our stay at Colby Loft. Downtown Asheville, with tons of restaurants, bars, activities is all right there. The loft was very clean, orderly, lots of privacy, and surprisingly quiet during the day, considering it was right above a food hall and right on the main square. And then, it was surprisingly noisy on Friday and Saturday nights, with competing live music happening just below the apartment (first alt rock then loud jazzy trio, and also outside the window (drum circle). But all of that shut down promptly by 10pm, so it was not a big deal.

Instructions were to pull up out front to unload..no place to pull over without blocking a busy lane of traffic.You have to find a place to park down the street and carry everything to the lobby. The code to the building's back door, facing the parking lot, didn't open the door. The gas fireplace pictured isn't functional and that was only disclosed when we received the final letter with codes to enter. The couch, which used to have tufted and buttoned cushions was missing all but one button, the coffee table was badly scratched, and the windows that are sealed closed, were filthy. There was a PILE of disconnected cables under the TV with surround sound speakers that weren't attached to anything. The advertisement said the TVs had Spectrum..no Spectrum. The place was cold and the heater wouldn't get warmer. We called the emergency maintenance number starting at 5:00 and after three tries we got a call back while we were in a restaurant. Instead of enjoying our anniversary dinner we met the maintenance man at 8:00 to get the heater fixed. On March 22 I contacted the management company and asked for some type of compensation as this place isn't as advertised and I kept getting an answer that the issue was under review. I finally got a letter on April 3rd stating that there would be no compensation and "amenities are never guaranteed". In case a reader thinks that this review is written because no compensation was given, I have pictures to support all of the above.

This place had everything you need except a coffee maker. It’s a great location, inside a terrific historic building, to walk to everything. Paid parking is readily available behind the loft’s building. So many amazing restaurants are within a 5-10 minute walk. I’d stay here again!

The apartment was nice, however it was extremely cold and did not have enough blankets. Additionally, the gas heater did not work when we stayed there. Other than that the apartment was clean and in a great location!

Just as described- This property was everything we expected. Direct access to all the best restaurant's and bars. We walked around, shopped, ate, drank and had the most amazing stay! Asheville is amazing year round and this property is the perfect stay! See you in the summer :)

Location of this property was perfect. We checked in Friday around 5:00. The drum circle was in full swing and we really enjoyed it. The next morning artisans showed up with handmade crafts and more music. The unit itself was clean and plenty of room for two couples. Beds were comfy. We would definitely stay at Colby Loft again.

This unit was fabulous, would be a great place to entertain. The Pritchard Park is right in view and this area of Asheville does tend to have a heavy load of homeless around, especially early in the morning. I do not feel "unsafe" with these people but some may. They apartment felt very secure despite the view from the windowns into the park and Asheville is trying hard to control this issue in the area. The parking was a bit tricky, best bet is to unload and move the car to parking deck a short walk away, but be prepared to pay $12/day for parking there, otherwise there are some metered parking places if you can find them and the bank next door can do evening parking. Parking is my only compliant. Unit was clean and nice and beds comfy :) Downstairs The TImes is a GREAT bar from morning coffee to evening cocktails! This place is located where you can truly put your car away and walk to everything if you're coming to see downtown Asheville for shopping and eating :) Cheers!

It's a very nice urban condo with a few quirks. It is above a busy food court located in the S&W building. No on street parking and it fronts at a stoplight. Get explicit directions on how to enter the building and locate the elevator. It is quiet. Cleaning was good except for dirty underwear left in the washing machine which had quite a bit of mold in the drum. Quiet a few homeless people roam Patton Street but we did not have any trouble. Overall positive.

We enjoyed the loft experience. Fantastic location where you can leave your car keys and explore downtown via foot. Beds were comfortable. Place was cozy and nice. Pictures are on point. Communication was timely and good. We would stay again.

Property is very cool and insanely convenient to everything! We parked our car upon arrival and walked during our entire trip. The town is awesome, and this property is perfectly located. It also just has a cool vibe. Highly recommend staying here if you want to see Asheville!

Pros:
* Amazing location. You can walk to virtually everything - breweries, restaurants, entertainment, shopping.
* Unique space. Exposed brick, concrete, and ductwork. Industrial look and feel, but still very comfortable and well-decorated/appointed. Also, the unit sits right above a cool little food court, a Highland brewing taproom, and a great coffee shop / bar (The Times). Drop downstairs for lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks, social engagement. It’s very ideal.
* Good management. Yonder is responsive and friendly. There are lots of great suggestions for things to do and places to go. Solid check-in and communication.
Cons:
* Walls are thin. If you have loud neighbors, you can and will hear almost everything they say and do. This isn’t great if you’re with a kid or someone who’s occupying the second bedroom.
* Historic building noise. Because everything is exposed, you can hear running water, toilets flushing, and general building creaks and groans.
* Very uneven HVAC. We were here in March and the heat was on. It was about 10 degrees warmer in the front second bedroom than it was the farther back into the unit you got.
* Pay to park. There are no free spots and the closest garage spots are a block or two away. You’ll need to account a little extra for that
* Washer & dryer are very finicky. The dryer has a ‘dampness’ sensor on it that turns on randomly even when you do a timed dry.
* Not well-ventilated, likely because it’s an older building. Our sinuses were irritated after spending longer lengths inside. It was noticeable when waking up.
Nothing is a showstopper, though the thin walls could be a potential problem - especially with a kid.
We had an issue with the bed sheets. They smelled fairly bad (probably left too long in the dryer without being completely dry). However, we were able to wash them and Yonder sent us two entirely new sets to use. They were responsive to the issue and followed up to make sure everything was OK.
Overall, we’d recommend Colby Loft if your expectations are set right against some of the above considerations. You can’t go wrong with the location - even in spite of not having parking. It gives you some incredible access to everything downtown has to offer and a really nice, unique space to hang out in.
