This place was heaven on earth! I’ve been coming to Greece for 30 years now (my husband is Greek) and I can’t think of a more idyllic spot. The house itself was utterly charming, with beautiful views of the harbour below and lovely little terraces on different levels where you can enjoy your breakfast and have drinks in the evening (and star gaze - the stars were amazing!). It was also extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a short stay, plus some delicious treats left by the owner like baklava, honey, wine and peach conserve. There’s also a charming taverna beside the beach a two-minute walk away (open all day till 10pm) and Hydra Town is a short water taxi ride away (€25) or a lovely 20-minute walk along the coast.

There was literally nothing not to like (aside from the non-swivel potato peeler which didn’t work very well - that's the worst criticism I can think of!).

Location and the house itself. The house is located next to the beach with a small taverna (good food - recommended for a lunch break) abut 20-25 min pleasant walk from Hydra town. So you during the day you can stay at the nice beach in a quiet area and then walk to the town to look for a nightlife or dinner. The house itself is beautiful, decorated in a greek style and perfectly maintained. The host is amazing - she takes care of everything and we got welcome sweets (baclavas) and farwell gifts. Concluding this everything is perfect.
