We liked the location. Excellent proximity to some fun restaurants and bars in the railroad Square neighborhood. This gives you access to the SMART train station. It also has immediate freeway access. You're within walking distance to the courthouse square/ downtown area with some popular breweries, coffee shops sandwich shops and a decent size shopping mall. The gym was well equipped with modern equipment

The hotel was clean and the bar tender was nice.

We got a king bed but my husband that is 5'll didn't fit. His feet were hanging off the bed. Also the pillows were not comfty. Woke up with a stiff neck. Tossing and turning all night.

The location was good. There was a big shopping mall just right in front of the hotel and the area around the hotel looked peaceful and relaxing.

The hotel itself is not that big. It is a five-story building with no basement parking facilities. So I think valet parking is inevitable, which costs $30 a night.

Clearly, a lot of effort went into the design of the hotel and amenities. However, as they say, "Safety is First" (See below). The location is excellent, but right on top of the freeway, so we got the last quiet room, so the inventory of rooms is limited if you don't arrive super early. We arrived at 2:30, which is the earliest time most hotels assign rooms, and were told it was the last room that was not facing the freeway. Later that afternoon, we heard the same story being told to another person checking in (Hmmm?). Again, the design and layout of the hotel is very good, but unfortunately, for most people, it's difficult to overcome the safety issue with the commodes.

The toilet is a huge issue for many people when it comes to safety. It was way too low to the ground. Also, the seat was loose and slid around. There was NO GRAB bar next to the toilet, and there was ample room to install it. This is a grave oversight and shows a reflection of "Design over Safety", opening up a significant liability to the hotel. The lack of a microwave in the room was an issue for us. I stayed at the Art Hotel a few blocks away. They are about the same age as The AC hotel, and THEY HAVE MICROWAVES IN THEIR ROOMS. They also have normal height toilets! Their parking is also $12 less per night. There is only one microwave on the first floor, with no surfaces to prepare things, etc. It was inconvenient to schlep downstairs in the morning to make our oatmeal and poor over coffee, etc. The room only had a frig, and no freezer, which is another issue for people with kids. No alarm and clock in the room and no room to prepare coffee in the morning.

Breakfast was excellent. Location was convenient. Pillows were nice.

Bathroom was awful. Terrible design, shower spurted cold water upon starting and the controls were at the back so no avoiding it. And, the shower made a flood all over the room. Also the sink was in the middle of the room, so no privacy. I hated the cold floor. Soundproofing could have been better considering that the hotel butts up against the freeway. No outdoor space for relaxing.

The breakfast was okay. We had another breakfast at a restaurant across the street that was much better.

The configuration of the room is odd. I know it is probably intended to be modern but it was just odd and didn't allow for ease of mobility or access.

Small rooms, awkward bathroom arrangement which lacks privacy, shower leaks terribly, bathroom fan could not be turn off, so ran all night. Loud noise from street on weekend night.
