Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We loved the kayaks, ping pong and overall house layout was excellent. The weather prohibited us from enjoying the pool or fire pit but they looked fabulous. Would highly recommend!

The only negative takeaway is the TV upstairs did not work and the only bedroom with a TV was the master bedroom.

What an amazing place! Our first VRBO stay and it did not disappoint. Perfect for a large group. There was 13 of us ranging from 2 to 75 from my grandbabies, my kids to my parents and there was plenty of space and things to do. The kayaks were a big plus! My kids and grandkids loved them. Watched the dolphins and manatees from the dock and kayaks. Kids fished from daylight till dark. Nice short walk to the beach. Upstairs room was a great hang out for the kids and grandkids. House is stocked with everything you will need besides food and your personal belongings. Thank you so much for this beautiful place to make these wonderful memories! Stephanie was a great host and we hope to be back soon!

We were looking for a way to celebrate our mother's 80th birthday and decided to forego a big party and just spend quality time together instead. The Banana River Retreat fit the bill perfectly. There were 7 adults so the number of rooms and bathrooms allowed for separation and privacy, while the living spaces gave us the time together we desired. We relaxed in the pool, we kayaked, we cooked in the massive kitchen and we played games at the table when it briefly rained. We were blessed to have been able to view a shuttle launch from the upper balcony which was a pleasant surprise. The setting and the atmosphere was just what we all needed and Mom had a wonderful and memorable birthday celebration.
My suggestion to future guests would be to bring Skin so Soft as the noseeums in this part of the state can be brutal & unforgiving and ear plugs may be helpful as well - the bullfrogs at night can lead to a restless sleep.
I would definitely recommend The Banana River Retreat to families looking for plenty of space to gather.

We loved the location and amount of space/beds in the house. The property was perfect for a reunion among friends. The big draw was the pool in the back. When we came it was dirty and is only cleaned once a week I think. We called the property manager and she sent the pool company, so they fixed it by the end of the first day. My only complaint is that it needs to be cleaned by the service better, not just shocked with chemicals. Otherwise, we loved our stay.

The location and size were the biggest plus for our group of 10. We enjoyed the kayaks and fishing right off the dock. On our last day we were greeted by a dolphin by the dock and a rocket launch up close right from the second floor porch that night. The short walk to the beach was very easy and the installation of a new light activated cross walk is awesome since the main road is pretty busy at times. We would stay again at this beautiful home in the future.

I have never been more disappointed in a home. The listed pictures are deceiving, due to the uncleanness/ lack of upkeep. The kitchen cabinet drawers/refrigerator shelves contained food debris, bath towels were worn/stained, flowerbeds overgrown, dead plants in pots, the pool furniture dirty due to a clogged filtration bowl, the pool was filthy! We contacted owner and was advised that a pool service would be at the house first thing the next morning; which actually happened around 3:00pm. We lost 1 ½ days to enjoy the pool; the owner provided a refund for 1 day of stay. Upon checkout, it was discovered that one of our kids had numerous bug bites on her backside. We informed the owner that we were taking the child to see a medical provider. The child was examined by her medical doctor for mosquitoes, noseeum and bed bug bites; diagnosis was bed bug bites. Provided info to owner. Owner declared that pest control visited the house the same day and there were no bed bugs found throughout. We requested documentation of pest control visit; as of date, we have not received. The following day, we received a second medical opinion, and the diagnosis (p/w provided to the owner) was again bed bug bites. The owner had a pest control inspection FOUR days after the first initial inspection. Documentation was provided to us from inspectors stating no bed bugs. Exposing my family to this and never receiving the documents from the first pest control inspection is unacceptable!!!

The upstairs of the house/ upstairs bedroom were significantly warmer than the downstairs and it was hard to regulate temperature. The floors didn’t seem to have been cleaned well before we arrived and the upstairs was extremely dusty but overall our group didn’t seem to mind. The issues we had during the stay were communicated to host and host was quick with responses. The location was fantastic and our group enjoyed using the kayaks

My group of 15 friends had an amazing time at this property. Proximity to the beach and restaurants was perfect! The backyard and pool kept us entertained and the house offered plenty of room to both spread out and congregate.

My friends and I stayed here for a short get away and this house was perfect for us! The house was beautiful and had endless amenities to entertain us. The pool was amazing and was where we spent most of our time relaxing. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and would definitely book again!

Beautiful house and plenty big for a big group. We had 7 adults and 3 teens. The pool area and hammocks (where you could dip your toes in the water) was so nice. We spent a lot of time by the pool. The covered back patio and upper deck were great too. We used the supplied kayaks once and it was great to have as an option. Lots of pool and beach items provided such as towels, foldable wagons, chairs, pool noodles, beach toys, etc. Ideal if you are flying in and can’t pack all that. The owner checked in to make sure all was going ok and addressed any needed items promptly. The beach was a quick drive (free parking at Lori Wilson Park). A quick walk too if need be which we did one day. But with a lot of beach stuff and having to cross 4 busy lanes of traffic, not ideal. Felt like we were in the middle of the game Frogger. That was the only thing we didn’t like but the overall location and house itself were good. Close to beach, grocery stores, shops and many good restaurants. The house could use a little TLC here and there, like changing some burned out bulbs, maybe updating the sliding glass doors which were hard to open and close (heavy and small handles, maybe grease tracks, etc). But that is being picky. Well appointed kitchen and basic supplies. Decorated nicely. Would stay here again!

Nice amenities/layout but not clean.
We thought the layout of the house was great for a family. Being on the water was wonderful. Close to the beach. Ample space in the house.....but it wasn't taken care of and was dirty.
Ice maker doesn't work.
Many outlet don't work.
The pool had no chlorine so it was cloudy (the cleaner came while we were there and fixed it).
There were dirty dishes in the cupboards.
Someone's hair was in the fridge.
Someone's hair was on the toilet..
There is dust pretty much everywhere.
The vacuum smelled like vomit when we turned it on to use it.
The boogie boards were all broken.
Overall it felt uncared for and unclean.
But, there were ample towels, ample hot water, the kayaks were really cool and our kids enjoyed the pool when cleaned.
I don't ever want to stay at someone's unclean home so we wouldn't stay again but maybe it wouldn't bother other people so much.

Beautiful home, wonderful trip!
We had an absolutely wonderful time at Stephanie’s home. The home was immaculate when we arrived, and Stephanie was super responsive to any questions we had during our stay. We were a group of 10 young adults, and the home had plenty of space for us to hang out together and spread out also. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a tropical getaway— the pool, canal, and location to the beach can’t be beat!

We are a group of three families with teenage children who stayed 7 days at this incredible property over spring break. The house was exceptionally clean and immaculate! Everything looked well maintained. You can tell the owners and their staff make cleanliness a top priority and care for it as if they lived there.
There were 12 of us and it never felt crowded. There were enough beds for everyone - without someone having to sleep on a painful pull out couch. There were 4 bathrooms and all had showers.
Our teenage children were never bored. Between the pool, pop-a-shot basketball, the ping pong table, kayaks, and fishing poles, they were always busy. Plus the beach was only a couple blocks away at Lori Wilson Park. Some days we walked there and other days we drove. Parking was free.
The kitchen was well stocked with all necessary items and small appliances (except there was no pizza cutter) which made it easy to cook.
The pool was chilly but warmed up as the temperature increased. A heated option would have been nice. The Banana River/canal was amazing. You could always see wildlife from the dock and while out kayaking, including dolphins, manatees, fish, birds, and horseshoe crab. In fact our second to last day a mother and baby dolphin hung around the dock and we enjoyed watching them! What an amazing experience!
Our only complaint was that the patio area around the pool is very narrow and tight. There wasn’t much space to place chairs poolside and lounge in the sun. At the same time, it wasn’t terrible and we managed, but it was difficult to maneuver around people without almost falling in the pool or stepping in the landscaping area.
Overall, we would highly recommend this property and will definitely be coming back again soon! Thank you for an amazing week!

The house has plenty of room for large families and the basketball and table tennis in the house was a hit for entertainment. We were there for Christmas, and they even had the house decorated with all christmas decorations and even a tree so we had something to put our gifts under. Perfect location to get to the beach, close to local grocery stores, and we were even able to dock a boat at the dock in the back of the house. Kayaks were a huge bonus as well, as the kids and adults all loved them. Highly recommend!!!!
