The walk to the beach was no more than 10 minutes. The convenience store (OXXO) was close. As a single woman, I felt safe being out by myself. The metal door to the apartment required a key. The lock on the left side of the sliding glass door was broken but considering the property is fenced it that was not a big issue. There's a total of one camera on the property facing the door which adds a level of security. A working washer and dryer on site is great! It's in a separate room. The neighbors keep to themselves and the human noise level stays low... I wish I could say the same for the dogs. Netflix in the living room. Home decor was quite eclectic. Cozy beds, warm blankets. Cooking utensils were readily available. Carlos gave my taxi driver helpful directions for finding this property. He was a delight.

The barking dogs were a nuisance. I opted for walking in the middle of the streets instead of the sidewalks whenever possible. I've travelled around Mexico and they were one of the worst. Barking sporadically throughout the day and night. However, there were some moments of peace where it was completely silent. Taking an uber into downtown TIJ can range between 100- 250 pesos depending on the time of day.

Very impressed. I was scared at first because I had never stayed in a house in TJ and not having enclosed parking was the main reason I was scared, but the neighborhood was pleasantly quiet and felt safe.

Safe neighborhood, exceptionally clean place. Heaters in the bedroom and living room kept us warm in mid-winter. Shower was piping hot for a few minutes, then just warm. Note the requirement for a damage deposit via PayPal. It was refunded in full but we had paid it in pesos so lost some due to a currency move against the dollar. The property is in Playas, which is the nicest area of Tijuana. Would definitely stay here again.

Carlos is a fantastic host. He goes out of his way to help make your stay as comfortable as possible. Check in and check out were wonderfully simple and he was always a phone call away in the event of any problems. Place itself is spacious and comfortable and I would highly recommend it for visitors to Tijuana. Internet is also relatively good. Not the fastest ever but mostly reliable and fast enough for me to work without too much inconvenience, especially during working hours. Otherwise, I felt safe and had a good stay!

Only downsides to the place are the barking dogs in the neighbourhood (but that is one of the charms of Playas, and one easily gets used to it) and the fact that it is a little bit on the far side on Playas - about 30 mins walk to the beach area.
