We were so happy with how close we were to the beach . We also appreciated the beach wagon which made going to and from the beach much easier . Loved the decor , comfortable beds and the best air conditioning units in each room!!

This property was fantastic. Just secluded enough also very close to the beach and downtown. Perfect size for a small family. The host was great to work with.

First time VRBO user. Wonderful experience. Will use VRBO and would rent this cottage again. We were there for our 30th anniversary and it fit the bill perfectly. Within easy distance of the beach, birding and wonderful food.

This is the cutest bungalow, well done, well supplied, very clean, perfect location, very private and pretty property inside and outside. The owner was VERY easy to work and communicative. We had a great time on SGI and this property was perfect. We highly recommend staying here for a small family or even a couple ❤️

We love the Gulf but didn't want to be over run with tourist. So we booked this and we were very happy and had no complaints. Nice shops just back off the island in Apalachicola.Dog friendly almost everywhere.(but we didn't know)

We loved our stay at Papa Shack! The location was perfect - secluded, but close enough to the beach for quick access. The interior had everything we needed for two of us and our small beagle/boxer mix. The kitchen was well appointed with utensils and plates and cups. The couch is so comfy and perfect for afternoon naps. We will be back!

This property was not clean even though you paying a cleaning fee. The bed sheets had not been changed. My daughter washed her sheets because she seen hair on the sheets. The dishwasher you could not use because the dishwasher door could not open completely because the refrigerator was to big and sticking out so far it blocked it from opening completely.

Private oasis. Perfect for two adults and two dogs in December. Clean, white, uncluttered, in good repair with everything we needed. We appreciated empty kitchen cabinets and plenty of closet and dresser space. Loved being surrounded by green and sheltered from the wind. It's located a block off the main road, so only slow local traffic and very little foot traffic. You can hear the surf from the yard. Easy to walk or drive to one of the many beach access points. On really windy days we walked the sheltered bay side at low tide. Quick drive to Piggly Wiggly which is small but had everything we needed. The living room has been updated with a driftwood end table for the sofa and black out curtains for a bedroom window. The mini split hvac system kept us comfortable and ran quietly. Ground level was great for our dogs and our knees. Being off season we saw very few people on the beaches. Very enjoyable. Temps, for our stay, were 60s to low 70s. Loved the cabin and location for a quiet relaxing stay. Thank you for allowing dogs!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this sweet little spot with our pups. Sometimes it made us feel like we were in a different world when we cut the lights on outside by the fire pit. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Just checked out this morning after spending a week at this property with my boyfriend and our dog, Maverick. It was perfect. Big yard with outdoor seating under cute twinkle lights. The outdoor area in general is super nice with a grill on the deck and an outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach. The house itself was the perfect size for the 3 of us. Nice kitchen that looks to be recently remodeled and the whole place was very clean. The proximity to the beach was amazing. It’s probably a 5 minute walk (at the most). It became my favorite part of the day when we got to walk down to the beach with our dog. Quiet, relaxing week at SGI. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful mini vacation and this was the perfect spot and time of year!

This property was tucked away with a nice yard secluded with bushes all around. Two blocks from the Gulf of Mexico and another two blocks the other way to the bay. The owner was very responsive and detail-oriented in her communications. The king size bed was comfortable, the kitchen had enough plates utensils pots and pans for several meals we cooked. Beautiful sunroom to sit out and read in the morning. Individual air conditioning units in each of the rooms allowed us to customize the temperature. We loved this place and will be back.

The cottage was perfect for our long weekend! Walking distance to the beach. St. George Island is a hidden gem and we will be back

It was our first time to SGI. We loved it. House was real nice and comfortable. It was great to be able to include our dogs. Short walk to beach. Lots of privacy as well. We utilized the kitchen most of the time. If planning to do that make sure you bring groceries with you as the island does not offer much.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Papa Shack! The house was just as described in the listing. It was very clean and comfortable and in a great location. Extremely easy access to the beach. We rented a golf cart so it took no time to get to the public beach access but I imagine the walk isn’t too bad either. The area was nice, quiet, and relaxing. We loved that there were beach accessories and toys for us to use as well. I definitely recommend Papa Shack to anyone traveling to SGI.

This was our first time to St. George Island and it was great! This house was just the right size for my daughters and I. Easy access to the beach. I also liked that it was tucked away with some privacy. Our host was vey friendly and helpful. Great stay and highly recommend them.

This is a nice, cozy pet friendly place to stay. Very close to the beach and the huge yard has really cool trees and a fire ring. We enjoyed it very much!

Nice little place and comfortable with an easy walk to the beach. Home away from home. Bedrooms could use some curtains because neighbor's flood light is on and off and shines in bright in the windows at night. Outdoor areas coukd use some cover. To get out of the sun you have to go in the house. Also, be aware of biting fleas in the yard. Overall it was a very much needed relaxing week.

Dawn was a fantastic host. She answered any questions we had in a timely fashion. Papa Shack was a nice little bungalow. We loved the quietness of the area. We wish there were blinds in the bedroom to keep out the light of the room in the nighttime. The bungalow was small and perfect for us.
