The location, room and staff were excellent. We came there unplanned on a short notice and place well exceeded our expectations.

Too narrow and steep staircase, be sure you are fit when moving up baggage to your room. I have experienced similar stairs in other older buildings in Spain though.

Exceptional location! In the middle of town, everything at your reach. Lovely little historical place. Clean and comfortable. Owners very helpful and always available for your needs. Our room was just a little dark, not a direct window to the outside.

The stay was overall very pleasant. The hosts were very kind and handled situations very well also offering some free snacks in the morning to share. Location was perfect, right in the centre with lovely views. Good value for money and as described.

An excellent location. The guesthouse was clean and you could come and go as you wanted. The proprietors were very friendly and helpful. There was no breakfast, but you could use a communal kitchen to prepare something simple for yourself. Free tea and coffee provided in the kitchen. One has to take into account that this is a guest house, not a hotel, and judge it accordingly. It is also a very ancient house (a piece of the history of Alcala itself) so it has some of the problems that old houses have in terms of condensation, steep stairs etc.

There was some noise and communication between the rooms after 11pm. There was no window or extractor fan in our bathroom so mould is building up.

When I arrived there was nobody to check in, even though I had sent them my arrival time which they confirmed. There were to telephone numbers on the door but it took at least 15 minutes before somebody picked up the phone. After that I had to wait 15 minutes more outside before somebody finally arrived.

There were a lot of ants in the room and there wasn't room service.

Ivan was an very welcoming and accommodating host in every way. I would give an 11 for location if I could, it's directly opposite the Cervantes house and in the middle of the Calle Mayor. The room with terrace is exactly what it says: has stairs to your own private rooftop terrace, a quiet getaway with 360 degree views of the rooftops, belltowers, and active birdlife of Alcala de Henares.

No complaints, excellent value for the price range,

The location was right in the centre of Alcalá de Henares. Good connectivity to Madrid City centre by bus and train ( takes about an hour from here to the centre). The staff is unbelievably courteous and helpful. Can't thank them enough. Lots of restaurants und supermarkets nearby. Safe location. Can be a bit noisy at times but didn't bother me personally. The property is good and decently spacious.

There is only one common toilet on each floor which can be a problem.

the rooms on the top floor have a slanted ceiling so if you're tall like me then you had to duck a lot
