This beach house is very close to the ocean, so close you can hear the waves. The house was clean and had a very beach feel to it. Wish we had more time to stay. Would defiantly recommend staying here.

What an adorable rental! Amazing views of the ocean, sunrise and sunsets. We arrived on a Friday night in November and found the house zero difficulties. The neighborhood is quiet and welcoming and the cottage is well equipped and beautifully decorated! Very warm and cozy even after the sun went down. Bedrooms and beds are comfortable and the back deck/yard was a nice surprise. Front porch is perfect for reading and watching the sunsets. We would rent here again in a heartbeat!!! Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars all around was that some items mentioned in the listing weren’t there (toaster) and the vacuum was a bit full. I like to leave a house clean, especially with dogs as part of our party.

Taking a shower was dangerous for us because there was nothing to grab onto if we were about to fall. There was a step down to the bedroom and that was very dangerous for all of us. Luckily we didn't fall. The place was great otherwise. The kitchen was clean as was the bathroom and bedrooms. Beautiful cozy cabin, clean and airy. Lots of space , 3 bedrooms, kitchen is well appointed. Back yard with grill and picnic table , large and peaceful. 2 blocks short walk to a small beach area. Close to Mystic which is well worth visiting. Very lovely stay, will return .

My family had a great stay at the cottage for an extended weekend. The property is fantastic and location is awesome - quiet and very family friendly. The inside of the cottage is maintained well and very comfortable. The two porches and backyard provide great outdoor space to enjoy the atmosphere after a day at the beach. We would definitely stay again and recommend the property to anyone looking for a beach getaway in Connecticut.

This was the perfect family beach cottage. We had a wonderful beach vacation. It’s a short 3 min walk to the beach. Our kids loved the bunk beds. The owner has a lot of books and board games which we utilized daily. It’s a cute close community. There’s a community center with a mini convenient store and they host kid activities daily. The location of Old Lyme is great…close to attractions. We visited the Aquarium and Children’s Museum. We will return!

The property was adorable and just as advertised. It was nice to be so close to the beach and the cute cottage was just what my family needed for a nice weekend getaway. The owner was very easy to get in touch with and helpful. The cottage is about a half hour from mystic town and it was a great day out.

Stayed here with three friends for a Saturday night in October. The space was lovely, three bedrooms with enough room for all of us to fit comfortably as well as a great living room area for relaxing. So close to the beach and 30 min ride to Mystic for great restaurants/bars. Kristine was an excellent host (super responsive throughout the entire weekend and flexible with our check in and check out. Felt clean and safe during Covid. Will definitely be back!

Two friends and I rented this adorable cottage for a short Fall getaway. The cottage is cozy but didn’t feel tiny, just the right size for a few friends or a small family. Clean, lots of seating, all appliances worked great. We were content laughing and sitting around chatting like seasoned friends do, but it was nice to have WiFi, cable tv, - and ceiling fans for one humid day. Kristine was very responsive to any question via the message feature on vrbo. We look forward to a repeat booking perhaps on the Spring. :)

the house was so perfect. the pictures don’t even do it justice it was so cute & well maintained and taken care of! Everyone around was friendly, the owner was very helpful, the beach was wonderful - i could go on! 100% will be hopefully staying here again :)

This is a great little cottage. Stayed for 3 weeks and enjoyed all of it. The cottage is located on a dead end street so it has very little traffic and great for walking/running. Mike was a great host always got back with any queations. Highly recommended!

This spot is great! The cottage itself is clean, beautiful inside and great location. The owner was VERY generous and went out of his way to make it a great stay. I HIGHLY recommend renting from him!

We spent a long weekend at this cottage and had a very relaxing time. Sitting on the beach and walking around the community was enjoyable. We also spent a day in Mystic Center, shopping. This cottage was so well maintained and nicely decorated. We will return to stay at this cottage again. We also met Mike, the owner ,who was very pleasant and accommodating.

After spending many years at hawks nest beach when our children were going up we decided we wanted to continue the tradition with our grandchildren who had already rented another cottage. We were pleasantly surprised when we found this home and it was available for Memorial Day weekend. Everything was perfect!! Besides the linens and towels, everything else was provided for us, and the owner was extremely helpful answering questions and getting us any extras we needed. The bed in the front of cottage (the only one we used) was so comfortable I didn't want to get up in the morning. Cottage was completely done over....everyone of our friends that stopped by LOVED it!!! Wish our little getaway didn't end so quickly, we were so relaxed we didn't want to leave, but looking forward to returning next year!! Thanks again Mike, a great time had by all!! Fred and terri

Friends of ours were getting married near by and we thought it would be more fun and less expensive to rent a cottage with a group of friends. We had 5 adults, a two year old and a two month old. This house was perfect! Very clean and kid friendly. The neighborhood we just loved. The general store had kid activities to attended every day and we loved how there was quiet hours at night. It made our vacation time that much more enjoyable! The only downfall(which isn't even a bad one) we had to walk down the road to go to the beach. It was just a short walk so it wasn't a big deal at all. We have already started talking about going back next year!

Wonderful beach house,had a GREAT time but we were a little disappointed that we had to walk to the beach...2 blocks or more. This was a little difficult with 4 kids. All in all we had a great time in a comfortable,clean,cozy home. LOVE the knotty pine decorating all the walls!

We were so taken back by the ideal location of this perfectly sized cottage. It was very comfortable for 6 of us ladies, and was really beautiful inside. The walk to the beach was super convenient, and the overal atmosphere was just really beautiful. The community is friendly and knows how to have a good time. Overal, it seems like everyone in that area is there for the same reasons - to have a relaxing vacation by the water surrounded by friends and family. What a great time. I hope we can come back next year and do it again!! Sidenote: Don't look in the mirror in the bathroom. I promise, you're not as short and stumpy as the mirror makes you look. It's not you, it's the mirror. And it's terrible, so don't even look in it. That's my only criticism.

My husband and I needed to get away from stress from work. This place was a perfect get-away for us. The house is very close to the water, and at night you can hear the waves crashing. The local people are so nice, and it is surrounded by historical places. We walked on the beach, ate seafood at nearby restaurants, and mainly just relaxed. There are many places to do and see. Mystic was a short ride, and we took a trip to the shopping district and spent the day there. The owner is very nice and reliable and responds quickly. We had a great time and we will be going back soon!

I just wanted to update my review and state that the owner came through with the refund. As I stated before, the place was beautiful, well maintained, and close to beach. This misunderstanding would not deter me from staying there again this summer. Thanks again Mike. Yvette

The cottage was absolutely beautiful. However, I am not pleased with the owner. I have contacted him several times about the security deposit and at this point, has still not sent the refund. He told me on two oocassions that he would put it in the mail this week and obviously did not. We stayed there in August. Christmas is right around the corner and as a single mother of two girls, the refund was going to be used for that. I am very disappointed and I hope to resolve this soon. I was planning on renting it again next summer for two weeks, but now I am not so sure. Signed, Irritated

We had a wonderful time here. The cottage was cozy and immaculate. Everything was updated and new. The bedrooms were a good size. It was comfortable and we felt right at home; very relaxing and we loved the real wood everywhere! Great place to take walks or sit by the beach and relax. People we met were very friendly, and I would recommend this property if you want the low-key type of vacation. Eating at The Grille Restaurant up the street was a pleasant experience also. We would definately like to rent this place again!

My husband and I and two grandchildren spent the week of April 11, 2011 at this cottage. Although the weather was uncooperative it was a great location close to everything yet we felt like we were hundred of miles away from everyone. Property is great, across the street from the ocean. We highly recommend this for families and singles. Plenty of room and has everything you need. We would go to this property again in the future.

My daughter and I spent 5 days there and we had a good time. The cottage is very updated compared to the ones we saw while walking around. The bedrooms are good size and the ceiling fans in the two bedrooms work wonders to cool it off at night. People were friendly who were also renting cottages. We had a good time and it was relaxing.

Spent a week here with my 3 grandchildren and daughter. We had a great week. The cottage has been updated nicely and was very clean. It is well supplied and the furnishings were very comfortable. After a day at the beach, we would come back to a shaded, cool backyard - very enjoyable! We did not find a gas grill on the property that had been listed on the website and we found it very difficult to park our 2 cars in the driveway. All in all a wonderful week in a very nice cottage. Would reccommend it highly.
