The house was very well decorated, super clean, and the location was very convenient (everything was a short drive or bike ride away)! Isn’t a huge place but had lots of space for everyone to spread out and was laid out well (the large wrap-around porch was great and was partially screened in). We rented bikes for the weekend from the Chincoteague Bike Shop (if you rent for more than 2 days they will deliver and pick-up which was a huge convenience). Overall-very nice place to stay!

The cottage is completely updated and decorated beautifully and as pictured. The kitchen is well appointed with thought put into to every detail of what you will need for your stay. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful and being less than two miles away from the state park, with nice trails and beautiful beaches made it a perfect getaway.

The Starfish House is such a gem! We are so happy we found it for our getaway to Chincoteague. We went to visit Chincoteague and Assateague to vacation, go to the beach, and learn more about Misty of Chincoteague after reading the book. Jennifer was so helpful prior to our trip as we planned our itinerary of things to do and she even gave advice/answered questions promptly during our stay. The house is so well maintained and has so many wonderful details- a cozy screened in porch with hanging lights, a wrap around front porch with a whale picnic table that the kids loved eating breakfast and playing at, a porch swing, a beautiful/modern kitchen and the house is well furnished with decor that looks like it’s right out of a magazine. We loved the starfish themed decorations throughout the house. The bathroom shower is roomy and worked really well when helping our little ones bathe after the beach. The waterfall shower head is wonderful too. The location of the house is close to everything and made getting to the beach and lighthouse easy. We also enjoyed some tours with the Step Through Time tour of Main Street and Beebe Ranch, as well as the Assateague Explorer boat tour where we saw dolphins, and the Museum of Chincoteague was a great one for the kids. We finished the trip off with a visit to the delicious Island Creamery and even were delighted to see some of the wild ponies on the way to the beach. A fantastic VRBO and we hope to visit again in the future! Thank you, Jennifer and Brad!

This was our second stay at The Starfish House and it looks as fresh and new as it did a year ago when we first visited. The owners are incredibly kind and showed up within minutes on a Saturday evening when we encountered an unexpected issue, which they were prepared and able to fix themselves -- eagerly and with a smile! Don't hesitate to book The Starfish. It's the best!

The property was in a beautiful, quiet and charming neighborhood. It was easy to bike to the beach. The house is well equipped and comfortable.

This was a true gem! The property was right at the causeway to Assateague and the neighborhood was quite and home to some very spunky deer! Everything was clean and we were even left some very necessary bug spray for our adventures! Will definitely be booking again.

We had a wonderful stay at the starfish house. We were a little conference having an infant with us but he loved the open concept and he could explore the whole place while we were keeping an eye on him. The hosts didn’t miss a single detail. Everything you could need is there. Games and books for the rainy days. Modern amenities such as wifi and streaming capabilities. The kitchen was outfitted with high end Utensils and appliances there was nothing you couldn’t make. Would definitely recommend and will be scheduling my next visit based on availability.

The Starfish House is absolutely stunning!! From the starfish lamp pulls to the toilet paper stickers, these hosts have not missed a beat. My family and friends were truly awed by its wonder and creative motifs. Can't wait to return to this Chincoteague treasure!

Our family of four (including a 7 & 5 yr old) had a wonderful stay at the starfish cottage, it was like a home away from home. The cottage was clean, modern, nicely decorated, and up to date. The space is compact but with the thoughtful layout, it didn’t feel small at all. There is a screened in porch at the side that we used for family dinners and relaxing, and a front / side porch with a swinging bench which became my oldest sons favorite space to relax. There is lots to do for families close by, and Jennifer the host provided great suggestions, and was very responsive to questions. We had a wonderful week at the starfish and would highly recommend for a family getaway. Places we visited: - Assateague Beach - NASA Wallops Flight facility visitor center - Captain Dans island boat tour - Maui Jack’s waterpark - Chincoteague museum - Assateague lighthouse (cover yourself in bug spray as it’s mosquito central there) - Island creamery (for delicious ice cream)

The house is stunning and the owners were so kind. There was a torrential storm when we arrived and they let us in the house two hours before check in. Everything is so well done and the kid’s room is so sweet. My kids loved it especially the porch swing. They can’t stop talking about “when we come back”.

This was a wonderful, well-furnished house to use as a "basecamp" for various activities in Chincoteague. We were interested in birding, walking, biking and paddling. The house was both convenient to town and to the wildlife refuge. We like to cook so we appreciated that the kitchen was beautifully designed and well-equipped. We had never cooked on an induction stove before. so it was interesting to try that out. From a dedicated gas-stove user, it worked really well. We loved the porches and would have used them more had the weather been a little warmer. Maybe next time we will visit a little later in the spring. Overall a very comfortable, nicely furnished and very clean house, Thanks, Jennifer, for a great stay!

It was so nice to have a functional, comfortable, and clean place to come back to after hours of exploring the area! And not that it matters but the technology is up to date and offers streaming options with your log-ins.
