There is a strong smell of damp when you first enter the property.

Several things were dirty or badly maintained. The rainforest shower head in the main bathroom was encrusted with limescale so the water flow went everywhere. I tried cleaning it but it was too encrusted plus whenever the shower was turned on the pipes banged loudly. Also the shower leaked and pooled into a space between it and the handbasin which was depressing. The dustbin in the bathroom was broken. The bunkbeds were really uncomfortable with hard ridges on the mattresses and the double bed was so uncomfortable that I slept on the bottom bunk bed with my daughter. Storage for clothes was meagre - a cheap plastic stand with no chest of drawers in each of the kids' bedrooms, while there was no wardrobe in the master bedroom. There were no pictures on the walls and it felt like a student houseshare. There were old cigarette butts in the courtyard and it didn't look like it had been swept or cleaned in weeks. It was also really noisy as it is on a skinny main thoroughfare down which buses, trucks & cars fly down. That can't be helped but it should be mentioned in the listing. Keys were in keysafe at door so they were easy to collect. However there was no guide book, welcome note or info about where we should put rubbish bags, recycling or their recommendations for places to visit. On the day we checked out, the landlord rang me to ask about our stay but quickly became abusive after I said we were disappointed. I hung up on him and then had to quickly move out my 80+ parents and little 10-year-old daughter as I was worried he was going to show up to hand out more abuse. A really unpleasant finish to our disappointing stay. The worst holiday place we've ever stayed at. Avoid at all costs.

What a fabulous find this cottage was. Beautifully presented, cosy but modern and everything you needed was to hand. The owner was great at promptly providing any information we needed too which was so helpful. Had a lovely dinner at the George and Dragon recommended as dog friendly by the owner. We will be back.

Nothing, it was perfect.

A little gem of a property in a little gem of a town. The house was clean, modern, and beautifully presented, and stocked with all the essentials needed for a short stay. Ideally located for everything Sandwich has to offer. Had no issue parking in either of the two local car parks.

The main bedroom has an ensuite shower but no toilet. It wasn't a problem for us but the property would definitely benefit from having a second toilet if it was at its full capacity of 6.

Lovely Property in a great location next to the river and close to all amenities would recommend staying here.
