This house is spacious and very well appointed and provisioned. The garden is also beautiful. Hanalei Bay is a few blocks away and has lovely swimming, beach walking, swimming, and kayaking opportunities. I would definitely recommend this property and would rent it again.

We very much enjoyed our stay as a multi-generational family. It was so nice to have all the bedroom suites plus the “kids room”. The living and dining rooms have plenty of space and all of the little lanais off of the bedrooms and living room are lovely spots to relax. One of the bedrooms upstairs has a massive walk-in closet that was perfect for the pack-n-play (just keep the closet door open for ventilation). It was also so wonderful to be able to walk a short distance to the beach. One downside is that the kitchen isn’t the best for multiple people to be using but otherwise is well stocked with pots, pans and everything you’d need. The other downside is the backyard is right across from the food truck loop so there is a bit of noise.

Surprise after surprise from the discrete out door shower with hot & cold water to the stream coursing around the back yard with an arboretum of flowers, orchids, bamboo and other beautiful native plants. The house and interior appointments were luxurious. Town center restaurants and the Hanalei Bay just footsteps away. An excellent family experience.

This home was beyond our expectations. It was very spacious. The kitchen was well appointed and lacked for nothing. It was super clean & modern that definitely had the WOW factor. We had a wonderful stay at this property. The location is great-- easy to walk to the beach or into town. This home is extremely well-stocked--plenty of linens, towels, beach equipment, and even a well-supplied kitchen (great for guests who like to cook). Outdoor shower was a huge plus. We'd stay there again!

Make a was a pleasure to work with and the home was ideal. The hone owners had everything you need. Bikes, surfboards, beach towels and anything else you can think of. The neighborhood is 2 minutes from Hanalei Center and 5 minutes from 3 beautiful beaches. Don't let the road closure concern you either. We stayed for two weeks and it had little impact. Definitely would do it again.

We had a few problems at this home. Someone broke into the side door at night and stole a backpack (we found the backpack under the bushes emptied out). We also normally have chairs, umbrellas etc for the beach but most of what they had was broken. We bought and left chairs and umbrellas. We also didn't have AC in the house or bedrooms and it was hot at night. The toaster was in flames when we tried to use it. The home is beautiful and close to town and the beach.

Downsides are that it is rather dark, especially for a house in Hawaii, there is no cover for the outside eating area, and it needs several minor renovations: gas grill does not work, second disposal does not work, most of the plates are chipped and there were beaters but no mixer.

We couldn't have asked for a better home to start our Hawaiin adventure off on the right foot. The house is spacious, clean and beautiful an the yard is beautifully manicured. Even with neighbors in close proximity, we felt very secluded as we spent many a night on the back lanai. The cul-de-sac location and proximity to both town and the beach were unbeatable! The beach accessories in the garage were much appreciated, as we're the beach towels! The only grumbling we heard on the trip couldn't have been prevented by the homeowners....the crowing roosters! New visitors to Kauai, and particularly the North Shore are unprepared for the result of the need to sleep with all windows open, couples with the islands overrun chicken population. We were all up much earlier than a typical vacation, and consequently in bed much earlier too! My only suggestion is to supply a stock o earplugs in the home! Our group of 10 was extremely comfortable in the house. The two kids had the trundle downstairs, but I think adults would have been just as comfortable there. 5 adult couples or some other combination of adults and children will fin the house roomy and fully stocked! We will definitely return to Hanalei, and would love to stay in his home again. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us!

It's only main drawback was there are some very loud roosters in the area. it's something common in Kauai but they were louder then other houses we have rented. We dealt with it and had an enjoyable vacation however. The only main issue we had was at the very end was the cleaning crew who barged into the house right at the 10am checkout time maybe a couple minutes before. We were running a couple minutes late, but had all the sheets and trash taken care of as is typical with a house rental. We got out of their way since we had all out luggage downstairs waiting for the car to return. I felt they should have asked to enter as is typical in a management / tenant relationship. We ended up leaving about 15 minutes past the 10am checkout time but in that time the crew was extremely rude to us and they were cursing around our young children and we're making comments about the garbage in our trash cans as we loaded the car 5 feet away from them. When I told the man we could hear what he was staying he even made a physically threatening move toward me. After that we quickly left the property and went straight to the Bali Hai office and lodged a compliant since we were extremely taken aback by the abusive treatment. All they said was "sorry". They have since not followed up offering any further apology or offer of compensation. Given it was an expensive high end rental I feel being put through such treatment was totally unacceptable. It was if we were 15 minutes checking out of the motel 6 not somewhere we spent close to $8000. The 2 stats for overall stay would have been 4 or 5 if not for this final 15 minutes of abuse we took and the lack of any follow up by the management company in an attempt to make up for it.
