Large house, so bring your friends and family. Not as accessible for folks who have disabilities because of the stairs, but there is a room at ground level if you need lodging for someone with mobility concerns.
The best part of the house is on the top level. What a view of the sound and the ocean. I never wanted to leave. The deck, the jacuzzi, the garden tub, all the bedrooms... the WINDOWS!
We were happy here for my 40th birthday.

We are a group of women who come to write to prompts, twice a year in the off-season. Whim-Sea is spacious and well-appointed, with a lovely large dining table to suit our needs. So many fun characters have been created there!

Whim-Sea is conveniently located to the beach by a private boardwalk. It is well equipped and we had all the cooking utensils; etc we needed. The house, however, does need some TLC. At first glance it appeared to be clean but it was not. The dining room chairs and sofa were covered with potato chip crumbs and there were cob webs hanging from the dining room light and throughout the house. The cleaning service obviously apparently does not dust because all surfaces were quite dusty. We definitely would stay at this house again.

We had a delightful 2 weeks at Whim sea, where we have vacationed for a number of years.

The pool was dirty and we called for someone to come. They cleaned the filter but it didn’t work. The guy said he was coming back the next day but never did. We cleaned the pool the best we could with the skimmer but it was gross. It really didn’t make the experience great. My family was very upset.

This house was the perfect spot for a great week on the Outer Banks. It is wonderfully located near the ocean on Pine Island. Beautiful home, with a very nice pool in the back yard. You can see the ocean from the third floor deck. The beach is easily accessible, as are shopping and restaurants. We look forward to booking this house again soon.

Our family of 13 included mid sixties grandparents down to 6 month old babies and the house suited everyone! Easy walk to the beach every morning followed by lunch and pool time. The hot tub, hammock & putting green were also enjoyed! We forgot our basketball & would have enjoyed that as well. The kitchen is well stocked, ice machine was awesome and the grill worked great but we did have to fill the propane. Lovely sunsets off the front deck were enjoyed by all. Harris Teeter is only 5 mins away along with a good variety of restaurants & shops. We would definitely return to WhimSea!

We had a lovely week at Whim Sea. Family group of 12. Plenty of space for all. The house met all of our needs with well appointed kitchen, games, beach gear, etc. Comfortable new mattresses. The only amenity that we would have enjoyed that we didn’t find was an Umbrella for the pool area, but it was nicely shaded in the afternoon. The area around the pool has a beautifully planted grove of trees which made the area feel very private. 10/10 home perfect to host multiple families. Child friendly arrangements. Very short walk to beach on a boardwalk. Would love to return even in the off season.

We loved the location and easy access to the beach. Everyone enjoyed the pool. There was plenty of room for our group of 15 to spread out but also to get together and play games and eat. We think it’s the perfect beach house and would love to stay there the next time we come to the Outer Banks!

Large, comfortable, and fun
Whim-sea has everything you want in a home by the sea -- and the sea is right there! Morning sunrises over the ocean, evening sunsets over the sound, and a comfy place to enjoy the rest of the day or from which to explore the charming towns of Duck or Corolla or to meet The Ponies. Highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at Whim-Sea, despite the fierce weather. The home is well-appointed and very welcoming, and it suited our little group of quiet writers perfectly (as did the oncoming storm)!

We have rented this house for 5 years and will be renting it again in 2022. We really like the house and the location so close to the beach. It really needs a cleaning outside to remove the cobwebs from the decks, furniture, and doors.

Only complaint is the pool maintenance was not good. We called for a mid week cleaning because the 3 days of rain filled the bottom with sand and no one showed. But we know this is Not an issue with the home itself, but the management company lacked here.

Great location. Property is older and shows wear and tear. Many of the sliding doors need wood sticks to keep close because the locking mechanisms are rusted out. Carpet needed to be vacuumed and needs a good cleaning.

The house is perfectly located in Corolla and easy access to the beach. The private pool wasn't open for the season, but I imagine it's invaluable during the summer. The house is bright, spacious and clean. Highly recommend!

Great family place close to the beach
We are a family of 5 and stayed on the property in January. There was more than enough room and it was a great place for our family to stay. We had the beach to ourselves and the hot tub was perfect after being on the cold beach. The check in process was super easy and everything was in great condition.
The only thing I would recommend would be to post pictures of the hot tub and pool table online for viewing.
