We really enjoyed the maritime woods location of this cute cottage in a well-designed enclave of similar cottages off of a boardwalk through the woods. We walked or biked to the lovely East Beach, very nearby. It's a really pretty part of the island. Hosts were helpful and wonderful to work with.

Couldn't have been better. Quiet, comfy beds, everything we needed and more. Would like to return in the Fall.

We had a wonderful time in this clean and comfortable home. The setting is quiet, amongst the trees and an easy golf cart ride to everything on the island. The kitchen had everything we needed. We took advantage of having groceries delivered as we were traveling close to dinner time and it worked out perfectly. We’ll definitely stay here again in the future.

This property has all the basics that make traveling away from home much easier. Communication with the owner was easy and helpful. Highly recommend.

Katherine and Jorge thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and fun! There were children’s books, a well stocked kitchen and everything was so quiet. There was even a little sand bucket and shovel on the counter filled with a brochure, clean sponge and dishwasher pods. The location was great and getting around was super easy in the golf cart, which was thoughtfully covered with plastic shades for the winter chill. The binder with all the info on the house and island was so helpful, it even had menus for restaurants. The house was exactly as pictured and noise didn’t travel at all, which is great when traveling with a toddler :) Thank you so much for having us! We will definitely be back!

Katherine and Jorge’s house was perfect for our long weekend away! Even better than advertised. Even though we never met Katherine and Jorge, they were excellent hosts, always staying in touch and making themselves available. When we come back to Baldhead we would definitely stay here again!

What a cute cottage that was perfect for our anniversary getaway. The location was amazing and had everything we needed! The hosts were also very sweet and did a great job at communicating! We will definitely be back.

We had the best getaway at Chica Lodge. The home was beautifully decorated, clean and welcoming. We liked the privacy of the home nestled among all the vegetation. And we were so close to beach access 39, which has a great wide beach. The home had all the amenities we need and having 2 golf carts was great. We can’t wait to come back.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage in Surfman’s Walk. The location was ideal, and the home was the perfect size for our needs. We traveled with our four kids, and the set up of twin beds and trundles in one of the bedrooms was ideal for them. The home has a BHI Club membership so we were able to get a guest membership for our family (must request BHI guest membership well in advance of trip if you want to take advantage of this). The homeowners get five stars for how they manage this property. They are super responsive and wonderful to work with. One issue came up during our stay, and it was handled quickly. I didn’t give all stars for cleaning because the cleaners didn’t do the best job before we got there (dirty towel left in a bathroom and a couple of similar issues). Sometimes the cleaners in the island are rushed. To be clear, the house was in no way dirty. It just wasn’t perfectly cleaned. The furnishings, beds, and bedding appeared to all be new.

Katherine and Jorge are thoughtful and responsive hosts! Chica Lodge is outfitted with everything from NICE beach towels, to four good bikes and a FULL kitchen; plus games and books for all ages, a pretty bar nook, and comfy pillows/throws everywhere. With THREE nicely appointed outdoor seating areas, it's very comfortable and spacious for a small group. A+!

This is a great property. Small but beautifully furnished and has everything you need for an enjoyable beach stay. Plus it is one of the best deals on BHI.

A girlfriend and I ran away here for Mother’s Day! We didnt mind the twin bed and this house was perfect for a relaxing time! We ate almost every meal in house and it was perfectly equipped. Check in and out process was so easy and communication with the owner was great.

The home was even more beautiful than I expected. The photos don’t do it Justice! It was well-equipped and lived larger than I expected for a 2-bedroom. Having two screened porches was wonderful. Katherine’s communication was excellent.

Exceeded the expectations for me and my family, even better than the pictures show.

My family and I were happy we found this perfect place to getaway, enjoy the island and spend time together. Jorge and Katherine go above and beyond to accommodate their guests. I look forward to a return visit.

Jorge and Katherine are excellent host. Plenty of communication. They even reached out to us on the first day to make sure we arrived and had no issues. Their home is very well kept and tastefully decorated. All modern appliances and golf carts worked perfectly. There is a welcome notebook that explains everything about their home and Bald Head Island. Including all businesses and phone numbers. We were within walking distance of a beach access. And enjoyed the nature trails right down the road. Honestly we did not want to leave. Very enjoyable experience and we are planning to return in 2022. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautiful secluded, cottage in the maritime forest. Spacious and spotless, fully equipped with everything one needs for a vacation (quality kitchen wares, 4 good bikes, 2 golf carts, recreation equipment, towels, you name it). Loved the location with easy access to both East and South Beaches. Hosts were the best we have ever experienced, checking in and encouraging feedback. Will return again!

We had a lovely time at the Chica Lodge! The house was the perfect size for our family of 6 and we loved staying at Surfmans Walk. We hope we can make this an annual trip!

Everything you could hope for in a rental plus it's located on my favorite end of the island. East Beach has the best sunrise views and we were lucky enough to see another lagerhead sea turtle nest hatch on it one night. We also hiked the maritime forest on the BHI Woods trails when we weren't hanging out on the beach, relaxing in rocking chairs on the deck, or on one of the two screened porches. We had a fun filled weekend and would definitely rent here again. Everything was perfect, thank you Katberine!!
