Property was as described/represented. We stayed during off season, so it was remarkably quiet and light on traffic. Could not have asked for a more peaceful experience with the exception of highway noise from across the lake during morning coffee.
I do recommend this place and would choose to stay again if in the area.

The cabin was scrupulously clean and right on the water. But the description didn’t say that BOTH sleeping areas are up a flight of steep stairs, while the only bathroom is on the main floor. That arrangement is very hard for anyone with mobility issues or anyone who needs the bathroom in the middle of the night. Also the fireplace and the heater in the kitchen/dining area didn’t work, so the main floor rooms and floors were quite chilly. The upper outdoor deck was icy and very slippery (not the owners’ fault of course), so not useable. There is an outdoor fire ring but there was no wood to use. This might be a better place to stay in the warmer months when you can take advantage of the outdoor spaces like the deck and can paddle on the lake.

Beautiful fall weekend on the lake. VRBO was just as depicted on the web site! The house was very comfortable for us. We were able to moor boat at the house and enjoy fishing on the lake. We also enjoyed a hike along the Elwha River.

This property was perfect for my and my husband’s visit to Olympic National Park! The cabin itself is so cute and the lake is gorgeous. It was perfectly situated close to Port Angeles and as close as you can really get to all the best parts of the park. Would highly recommend to others!

We had the fortune of staying during fall and had amazing views of the colors changing. You could spend the entire day admiring the views from both the rocking chairs outside and the lounge chairs inside. Would 100% recommend and hoping to be back soon! Loved the kayaks on such a peaceful lake. Easy access to Olympic Natl Park and Port Angeles. House was cozy and the bed was very comfortable.

This place was outstanding! We absolutely loved our time in this home. It was just perfect proximity to everything we wanted to see. And the owner, Cherrie, was incredible in answering all of my questions. My husband says this is his dream home!

Our stay on the lake was so peaceful and serene - we loved it! Kitchen is well-equipped and the cabin was very clean. Location was very convenient for hiking in nearby Olympic National Park. There is ample room on the deck for relaxing during the day and star-gazing at night. It should be noted there is no bathroom for the upstairs bedrooms, which wasn't a problem for us but might be for some.
For us, it was a bit cool for jumping in the lake and using the 2 nice kayaks, but it's great they are available. Overall, a very nice place for getting away and enjoying nature. Definitely would stay again and recommend.

We had a wonderful time! The views were breath taking. Bed was comfy and my pillow was amazing! We kayaked which was a nice amenity. Grilled steaks and had frozen margaritas to end our evening. Would definitely go back.

We live in Sequim and always stay out at Lake Sutherland but this was the best cabin we have ever stayed at. We really loved the layout of the house and the awesome docks right on the lake to jump off of. We looked forward to staying here next summer!

Perfect summer stay for family of 4. Everything was thought out including life jackets for kids! This is about 25 min from Port Angeles so bring your groceries to cook!

My family just finished our 8 day stay at this awesome lake house! It’s an adorable A-Frame house with one bedroom + a loft with two more beds. It was the ideal size for our family (mom, dad, daughter (6), son (4), and baby (8 months).
It’s a great location, but it is remote. Plan to grocery shop and stock up!
We made tons of memories swimming, jumping off the high deck, and kayaking.
Olympic National Park is stunning and we are thrilled with our time spent.

We loved our stay on lake Sutherland! The views were gorgeous and we loved spending all day out on the deck and in the water. The cabin was comfortable, and we had fun picking out movies each night from the large VHS collection. We had a great time!

We ended up doing dishes with hands on vacation & birthday that we didn't do in last 20+ years at home on birthday( we have dishwasher all the time).

We were impressed with the location, comfort, and cleanliness of the cabin. It was a great base for going into ONP but we also liked hanging out on the deck and using the kayaks. Sometimes I wished there were two bathrooms, but the none available was clean and the shower was nice. Would recommend!

It was so quaint and nostalgic (can’t remember the last time I watched a VHS tape!). The view was gorgeous and the location was close to lots of good hiking and other activities. Would highly recommend!

We only stayed two nights for a quick getaway. It was very clean, and we enjoyed the views off the decks and when it was a bit chilly, through the many windows. The hiking in the area was amazing and we appreciated being able to take the kayaks out as well. A pair of mallard ducks seemed to have adopted us as well, and were very cute visitors.

This property is incredibly gorgeous and the lake is stunning. The kayaks are super wonderful and allow you to explore the lake and all of the beautiful cottages along the shore. It’s a great launch point to get anywhere in Olympic national park and such a cozy little cabin I definitely will be coming back.

Upon arrival, we we so impressed by the solitude of beautiful Lake Sutherland as viewed from the spacious two story lakefront deck. The home made for an excellent hub for our day journeys in and around Olympic National Park. It was a nice getaway.

This place was perfect. Google Maps didn't register the turnoff onto the road the first time we went, but we figured it out easily. The house is small but cozy and the porch and lake more than makes up for it. Honestly, if this host is ever thinking about selling, hit me up. Would love to go back or retire there.
